“In search of a bar that wasn’t packed on a Friday night, we were lucky to stumble across Marlow. The atmosphere is dark and cozy. There’s enough of a vibe for this place to feel lively even when it’s mostly empty, yet it also avoids the earsplitting noise that may come with a more crowded venue. The bartenders are amicable, and the menu showcases some creative – and creatively named – cocktails. Lara went with a Moon Song (rum, blackberry, lime, and honey with lavender cold foam) and an espresso martini and enjoyed both. I opted for a zero proof drink: the high and mighty (agave, nonalcoholic ginger and floral liqueurs, jasmine tea, and spiced salt). It was refreshing but didn’t quite hit the mark for me. What should have been complex and balanced came across as overly floral.

All told, Marlow is worth a visit even if it is unlikely to wow you.“

“We made a reservation here for my boyfriend’s birthday and had an amazing time! We sat outside on the deck, and the ambiance was great. The sourdough and smoked salmon dip was delicious and everyone loved their entrees. Molly, our server, was absolutely fantastic! She brought a dessert out for my boyfriend with a candle at the end of our meal and played a harmonica while we sang happy birthday. We couldn’t have asked for a better night. Will be back again!“

We had someone in our group with celiac and they were super accomodating- our waitress Alex marked up a menu item by item of what was gluten free and what could have easy modifications to make gluten free. The majority of the dishes came out super quick (everything but the large plates, which they prefaced would take a little longer and therefore suggested to order at the same time as the small plates). Another staff member (a manger perhaps?) checked on us in addition to our server. When a guest wasn’t sure what drink to order, he quickly asked about her preferences and offered guidance. He ultimately offered to pick something for her, assuring her he’d bring her something else if she didn’t like it. Overall, the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. And not a single dish we didn't like.“

“I prefer this bar than racist rain or OCH off 4th street. This bar has some good bar food, amazing drink specials and staff that will remember you if you are a regular. At first ive dealt with alienation but after coming here more and more the staff warmed up and received me with open arms. If you are a older LGBTQ person and want a place to play pool, eat good food and have a good drink, I definitely recommend this space, its not as crowded with youngings like the bars on 4th but you do get your moneys worth and wont have to deal with ageism or discriminatory treatment like most bars on 4th.“

“Service was terrible. We were a party of six with a reservation for brunch. Arrived early but seated on time. Took 20 minutes for our first drink order. Long time to receive drinks and another 20 minutes to place our food order and had to track down a manager to get another round of drinks. Restaurant seemed short staffed. “Well I would say yes & no! Nice place but the way the tables are set up is horrible. There isn’t a stage so if you are sitting at the small tables you can’t see the band that is performing because the higher table are in front. I think that the higher tables should go against the wall where the picnic table is or towards the back and the smaller tables should be up front. There are some people who are unable to sit and the higher tables but are unable to see the band other then that’s it’s a pretty nice place.“
