“I ordered the meatloaf meal with macaroni and okra. It was supurb! My daughter ordered chicken and dumplings . She said it reminded her of her grandmother’s dumplings. My other daughter order turkey and dressing. She. loved it! My little grandsons were happy with their chicken and waffles. The coffee has smooth flavor. I enjoyed my tea with the mint leaf.Oh the pancakes were fluffy and delicious! The gentleman who sat us at our table was very helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this place to eat delicious food.“

“Interesting, varied menu and very tasty food (I particularly recommend the chicken tortilla soup). Our server was very friendly and was very careful to note down our daughter's multiple food allergies and work with the kitchen to advise us on what she could have, which was fantastic.

One niggle is that it would be great if there were more dairy-free options on the menu - one of my daughter's allergies is to milk and she felt that her choices were very limited.“

“We went for our first time. We were the only ones in the restaurant and service was very poor. We waited over 15 minutes for our check while the owner sat at another table chatting with someone. Food was good however the menu needs improvements. The descriptions were very vague and it didnt seem like a menu for a mexican restaurant.. And I have never been to a mexican restaurant that doesnt serve chips and salsa.“

“I was just swinging through town solo and stepped into the bar area to eat. I have been there a few times, and ALL the food is excellent. But usually when u sit in the bar area on a busy night (Friday) you are all but ignored. However, probably the best service I have ever had. Constant multiple waiters walking by asking for what you need, but not in that annoying way where you cant eat. Drinks were Johnny on the spot, everything out quickly. A most excellent establishment.“

“Impressive would be an understatement to describe dinner last night at Huisache Grill in New Braunfels, TX. A family owned spot for 30 years in an old cabinet shop that is rustically decorated but comfortable. My daughter and I were seated and our server Melissa set us up with drinks while we looked over an interesting menu. It was difficult to decide BUT this place also offers some of the meat options as an add-on to their other plates. So if you want a chicken dish but crave some duck too…you can add duck as a side! I ordered the Huisache Chicken Tortilla soup and Mixed Grill while my daughter ordered from the Mix & Match Combo. Both entrees came with a side salad too. The Chicken Tortilla soup is something you would be remiss…the absolute best version of this soup I’ve ever had! The Mixed Grill had 2x beef medallions, blackened quail, skewered spicy shrimp, and poblano bacon wrapped chicken. I LOVED it all! The creamy horseradish sauce and Dijon/Merlot sauce a wonderful compliment for dipping and the sides of herbed baby potatoes and sautéed vegetable medley nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Mix & Match consisted of beef medallions and the Char-broil grilled duck breast along with green beans and herbed potatoes. Again, everything delicious and the duck was very good and the char didn’t overcook the duck. We tried their GF Apple Crisp…for purists of this dish it is a dramatic flip…but in a good way of this dish. One note…only wine and beer, no cocktails available. This place has excellent service and Melissa was a pleasure to work with, while the soft music and atmosphere is so relaxing.“

Even when they are in their crazy lunch hour rush, the employees are all friendly and have my lunch ready and waiting on time! “Came here on a dime! Was in the area didn’t want the loud bar type place for a bite. My bf and I walked in with a warm welcome. We ordered and sat down the charming place was nice and quiet. I love the ice cream parlor vibe with vintage setting with the diner seats and stadium seats. Had my heart with the little table and chairs for the littles. We were pleasantly surprised! The FOOD yum!! we definitely agreed we would be back and added to the list.“

“I just wanted to say we had an amazing experience today. We came in and it was extremely busy. There was a customer in front of us with entitlement demands. She was being very unreasonable with her demands. I would have honestly been fired if I had to deal with the customer. Your employee Katie and her crew just smiled and did everything they could to please her. I was really impressed with the crew and how the remained cool, respectful, and didn’t let that effect the vibe. I know most the time people are real quick to let you know when something is wrong, but never take the time to say when something is right. Katie and the crew were right and spot on.
