“I adore this place, I really do. Full Disclosure: If your idea of great Italian food is the fare they serve at Pizza Hut, or if your favorite family restaurant has always been the Olive Garden, this restaurant may disappoint your expectations. But not because Luigi's is disappointing; it'll be because your expectations are. Luigi's serves homey, Little Italy-style dishes that cover the full range of classic Italian-American cuisine. The food is simple, earthy, and satisfying. Everything is cooked to order, so component substitutions are welcome. Any pasta dish, for example, can be served over sauteed or grilled vegetables instead of pasta on request. Alcohol is not served by the restaurant, but patrons are invited to bring their own adult beverages in with them, and the staff is happy to open your wine or Champaign and offers appropriate glassware for each free of charge. Honestly I consider this more of a benefit than a disadvantage, as picking up your own bottle on the way to the restaurant instead of ordering wine by the glass once you get there saves you a small fortune on your dinner bill. I've been visiting Luigi's regularly for three years now, and the service has always, without exception, been wonderful. Luigi's may provide the best dining service in the Southeast Texas region, I kid you not. The staff is friendly and professional. They are also all knowledgeable about the variety of traditional entrees on the menu you may not be familiar with - don't be afraid to ask! Don't be surprised if Luigi's proprietor, Armand, wanders over to your table to personally make sure everything is to your liking. Observing the familiarity he has with so many of his patrons as he flits from table to table has given me the impression that most of Luigi's diners are regular customers. I've come to believe that once people eat at Luigi's once, people will eat at Luigi's often. The menu price points are reasonable for this style of cuisine. It's not a "cheap" restaurant, but the pricing is comparable and competitive with most every other family dining restaurant in the area. Honestly I recommend this restaurant to anybody. Luigi's is probably my favorite restaurant in Orange, if not the whole Golden Triangle. Now that I'm thinking about it, it occurs to me that I'm craving Luigi's Eggplant Parmigiana; I think I'll pay them another visit tomorrow.“
“Last night I was one of the last customers in line, arriving 15 mins before closing time. As usual the line was wrapped around the building, so I waited. I set out on a journey just to come to this spot for dinner for my bf and I. It's about an hour round trip. (Worth it.) My bf and I love the Pitmaster so I ordered each of us a sliced brisket sandwich and a side of potato salad and baked beans. I rush home so dinner will be waiting for him when he returns home, he's been working late and long hours I wanted to surprise him. I can hardly wait to eat mine, it smelled so delicious on the ride back home. I'm diabetic so I decided to go ahead and eat before it got much later, so I open the brown bag to pull out the baked beans and brisket sandwich and what I saw was potato salad and a turkey sandwich with pickles and onions. I do not prefer either so I just took them off and had no choice but to eat it. Everything is closed. I'm starving. Exhausted. And still had to make yet another trip into town to get something else for my bf to eat. DQ Steak basket is nowhere near equivalent but what can you do, everything is closed up for the nightI have now spent $40 and an hour and a half drive time to get him dinner. He was happy to have food, nonetheless. He chose to eat the potato salad with his DQ, so I handed him the large container and as he dove into it with his spoon he says, this is no potato salad, it's banana pudding!! ? His favorite. Almost* like grandma's! He loved it. So in the end, y'all still saved the day! Lol He says kudos to who ever is in charge of making the pudding. Thank y'all! I'll be coming back tomorrow, however for my brisket sandwiches“
“Very enjoyable mid day atmosphere. As soon as we walked through the front doors, you could smell the cleanliness of establishment and the crisp smell of the food, not overwhelming, very balanced and nice... I can't wait to come back soon.“
“Even though the food was amazing. The friendly service from the girl with the crazy hair named Nicola was what made my whole day. I ordered minutes before closing and still received great food and service with the best attitudes. Ty to the chef and Nicola!! Great place if your a trucker, park at pilot and walk across the street.“
“I took my fiancé for his first visit! I could not believe how delicious the shrimp and grits are! I paired mine with the bowl of fruit, which isn't in season right now and tasted less ripe than I desired, it's February, so I'll try the fruit again in the summer. He had a cuban sandwich which he doesn't like mayo, but other than that said it was perfect. He complimented that the balance between the meats and veggies and crunch on the bread made for a delicious sandwich. His was paired with French fries. We both had their sweet tea with lemon and they have the best in town. It isn't overly sweet, and has a great tea flavor. To finish off our meal we shared the bread pudding with rum butter sauce. Fantastic!! No raisins or nuts, just simple and plain, toasty on top, moist bread pudding, and the sweet sauce tops it off so perfectly, which is why I give Old Orange Cafe an all 5 Star rating!“
