“I love this place. The crawfish is exceptional. I love the mariachi bands. I always patron the band as much as possible. I always get an array of food like crawfish tortas and tacos. I practice my Spanish and the waitress practices her English. I took my daughter here and now she loves it as much as I do. I am planning my next visit as I write this.“

“This is why I love Yelp. I'm giddy when Yelp reviews point me to places like this, that I never would have found on my own. We were very pleased with the food, the service, and the vibes we found at Cochinita! We ordered The Desayuno (not pictured because my husband dug in before I could snap one) and the 3 Leches French Toast, a latte and a London Fog. All plates were emptied before we left. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and was beautifully plated. They have a collection of house made sauces and oils available to spice up your meal (and you can even purchase some to take home.) Cochinita is a real treat. The neighborhood is worth a cruise after breakfast for the murals, too!“

“The steak and potato rolls were excellent. The meat was tender, juicy and a good amount of flavor. In fact I did not need to use the peppercorn sauce. However the Brussell Sprouts were just okay and haven't been seasoned enough. As well the G&G House Salad needed ample amounts of pepper to have an established flavor. The Chocolate cake had excellent icing and filing but the cake itself was dry. The Chocolate Martini was good and the cappachino was just okay. With this price range I expect that the accompaniments to the main course be superb as well.“

“Incredible meal, this place is the real deal for local food. You may notice it's inside a gas station but don't let that deter you. I was offered samples of their gumbo, which I gladly tried, and then ordered one of. It was absolutely delicious, with a generous portion too.“

“My husband and I are in Houston TX for the first time. We walked past Potente and the building was eye catching so we made a reservation for that evening. We prefer the atmosphere of the lounge, so we dined at a table for 2. There was live music, which added to the environment but you could still hold a conversation. Our service was excellent, from the hostess, to the servers, the wine expert, and the chef (who came out to great us). We would definitely go back! The food was a creole Italian mix and excellent. We had a happy hour beverage the Potente 75, light and refreshing martini. We started with bread service (house made hummus was good, but I would have preferred butter or EVOO). We had the GAMBERETTO for the beginnings, which was an amazing meaty shrimp appetizer. For our mains I had the pasta and added the blue crab for protein source. I do not typically order pasta, but it was light and delicious. The pasta is made in house daily and I didn't suffer from any GI discomfort afterwards (I do not have celiacs but do try to minimize gluten). My husband had the veal chop with morrell mushroom risotto, it was tender and delicious. For dessert we had the TORTA DI MARSALA and a dessert beverage (my hubby's preferred way to enjoy his dessert). We would certainly go back! Excellent date night spot!“

“Update: just celebrated my 65 birthday. Lobster! This is my most favorite seafood restaurant. Everything is 100%. There's not a bad item on the menu! Today we kept it simple with a Greek salad and their seafood soup, which is awesome! Been coming here since a place was built. Tonight it was brother and sister night!“

“I came here after it was lunchtime on a weekend. There was no wait. The staff were friendly and checked up on me pretty often.The food, I went for what was recommended. I especially liked the roti canai. I wanted to get more of the roti to dip in the delicious sauce. The salted egg calamari was prob not for me at first since it was a unique taste. As I ate more of it, I started to like the flavor. Unfortunately, some of the squid pieces weren't cooked through. The beef rendang had a good amount of spices and I liked the slices of cucumber on the side. It was refreshing and gave my tongue a break from the tender beef.It's a small restaurant but there are space enough for parties of probably 4-6 people at a table section. There is space in the middle to walk through.“

“The food was so good. I had the sliders, they were hot, fresh and flavor in every bite. The grilled onions were perfect and even the pickle was crispy. The touch of parm cheese on top added to the sweet toasted bun. I had sweet potatoe fries and the added bonus was a Tequila strawberry lemon drop made by the chef. “Called in a order for lunch and was meet with a friendly loving voice. Gumbo mama herself took my order and she was so helpful and customer service was excellent. Now, I order the medium Gumbo and a piece of fried fish. The fried fish didn't even make it back to work. Crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. Baby that GUMBO was soooooo good. Filled with chicken and shrimp and sausage. Also came with a crab leg too! Really did taste like my grandmothers gumbo. Just because it's on the inside of a gas station don't look past it. I ordered the double tat sandwich, with the strawberry cheesecake, and the burger (which I couldn’t grab a picture of) but I can’t even explain to you, from top to bottom the sandwich and the sauce is BANGING, then the burger was perfectly made (personally a medium/rare guy) which he made perfectly. “It was my first time trying Korean BBQ, and it was awesome! It’s $30.95 per person for dinner and it all you can eat. Tables can’t be occupied for longer than 2 hours. “In a small, converted home on Center Street in DP is one of the best Italian food restaurants I've been to (and that includes Italy, other European countries and even NY). The owner always greets with a smile and the staff are onboard with the mission. “Tried this restaurant after a night out, the food was amazing. They took our order and ~10 minutes our food was ready and fresh from the kitchen. The shrimp basket was shared between two and was delicious. The beignets are a must!!! Overall, a great place to eat with even better food.“

“I'll start by saying I ordered through Grubhub. My final price for my meal was a little over $52. I changed my mind twice about ordering one meal for one person at that price but I was hungry. I am a OTR Truckdriver. I was parked at a Truckstop and I don't eat Mickey D's (McDonald's). So anyway, I ordered a 10" pizza which really would have been enough. I also ordered the almost $20 lasagna. I am not a connoisseur of pizza but I must say my taste buds were very much satisfied. Now for this $20 lasagna. For my taste, it was very good and very satisfying. The portion size was larger than I expected. With that being said the price was understandable and for me very much worth it. I have no "but" or anything negative to say. In closing, the next time I am in this area, this is my go to spot for a good meal. (Please don't change a thing.)“

“Went for lunch with the wife at 2:00 pm. Restaurant clean. All the employees including the owner were super nice. Our food was fresh and great. We decided to have margarita. Sorry no pics. Best part it was happy hour so $5 for one was great and then the boss stopped by and gave us another shot to fill our glass back up on the house. Not the greatest I've had but I will definitely will get another one on our next visit. Overall everytime we go there we are always welcomed with open arms and the food has always been fresh and on point.“

Here's my thoughts:Pros:-Friendly staff-Food was fresh and piping hot-The shrimp and fish pieces were big and fried to perfection!-The fries were crunchy and well seasoned-Prices were very reasonable-Close to TSUCons:-Looks to be Asian-owned (not Black-owned though this restaurant is right in the heart of Houston's blackest community, 3rd ward)-The batter on the fish slides off; the binder they used (not sure if it's mustard or egg) didn't seem to hold the batter together well (see my pic)- Tarter sauce come in a packet, it's not house-madeOverall, I wouldn't mind coming back for the shrimp again but not the fish. The people here are very friendly and their dim sum is better than the dim sum I’ve tried in China town. They have many options of dumplings which are available all day. “I think the grilled chicken Alfredo pasta is one of the best I’ve had. It’s so rich in flavor. The tomato basil soup is also amazing. They go a little heavy on the seasoning for the grilled and blackened chicken, but you can ask for less and I think it’s perfect. I absolutely loved trying this place - perfect amount of protein, the fish tasted fresh, not too much sauce, and great portion sizes. I even liked how they had utensils corresponding to different levels of expertise, which was funny. The ambiance was nicer inside but there is seating inside and outside. The staff was nice and completed our order pretty fast. I loved the Spicy Shoyu signature bowl with rice as the base, spicy tuna instead of salmon, and seaweed salad added. Usually poke places can be stingy with the amount of protein they add but this place added the perfect amount! I also love seaweed salad so I was ecstatic to see it as a topping. My cousins also loved the Tuna Aioli signature bowl and we all finished the regular size, so it was great portion sizes. Can't wait to visit Houston again and eat the Spicy Shoyu bowl again!“

“What a great experience this turned out to be. Peppers is a midsized Non-chain restaurant in Pasadena, Tx. This was my first time here and I was impressed. The building from the outside is beautifully maintained and welcoming, with a uniquely landscaped front garden. Once inside it gets better. We were greated by a friendly young host and taken through an immaculately clean dining room to our table. It is a real, sit down restaurant. It is calm, was quiet, and comfortable. There were couples, small groups, and families with children. Our waiter arrived with menus almost immediately. The menu is not huge but had something for everyone. I don't remember seeing hot dogs but I didn't look at the kid menu. It has a varied offering of steaks, seafood, pasta, chicken, hamburgers, veggies, sides, and appetizers. Oh yeah, and a very nice full bar. They make an excellent lemondrop martini. The serving size of our meals was generous and appealing. Many of the entrees offer a size choice in case you want a smaller meal. The fried catfish and shrimp entree was huge with thick perfectly fried seafood. It made me wish I had some of those shrimp. My pan-seared redfish crabmeat/butter sauce was excellent. The smothered steak was also very tasty with a nice, thick steak burger under gravy and onions. Our sides were not canned or bland. A big fully loaded (no scrimping) baked potato, big, thick asparagus...everything really was upscale quality food and worth the somewhat expensive price. Most of the entrees I was interested in were $16 to $25 dollars that included 2 sides and dinner rolls. But hey, you can barely get anything under $15 dollars at Cheddars and that is for canned, frozen, and mushy food. So yes, if I am getting a nice dinner out I would rather splurge a little and go back to Peppers. I don't know if my food pics do this restaurant justice and I wish I had taken pictures of the really nice dining room. The plates are loaded and presented nicely. The ONLY thing that needs improvement in my opinion is the dinner rolls. They were disappointing. We were too full to try any desert this time. I would recommend Peppers based on an excellent first time dining experience. My parents eat here often.Parking: There is a lot of parking.Kid-friendliness: It seemed that children are very welcome here. There were several children dining. They were very well-behaved and appeared to be enjoying themselves. Kudos to their parents.Wheelchair accessibility: There is no problem with wheelchairs here.“

It's much easier to get help and service on the inside seats. Just a little protip. If you never been.If you come from the Katy location. You'll be surprised.
