“I've been thinking about how to write this review since last night, when I visited Bouldin Creek Cafe for dinner after a long day of travel.
Normally I don't have to think very hard, but this place definitely has me searching for new adjectives to describe just how unbelievably good my food was.
Let me just keep it simple. The breakfast tacos contained tofu scramble that I will never forget. I'm going to tell my kids about this tofu scramble. If I ever become a professor, I'm going to teach a class about this tofu scramble. It was the most incredible application of flavor to taste buds I think I've ever had.
The staff were also extremely kind, knowledgeable, and very willing to tolerate my menu-indecision ?.
Even the other customers were kind and friendly. That isn't normally something you can really credit to the establishment, but I have no doubt that the quality of food and the general atmosphere of the cafe had at least something to do with attracting such nice people.
I don't care if you are vegan, vegetarian, omnivorous, or have never eaten a vegetable in your life. You owe it to yourself to come and eat here.

“Such an INCREDIBLE space. The food was so delicious and the portions were large. I was a little worried it wouldn’t be seasoned b/ it’s so wholistic but dang was I wrong ! It was SO flavorful and tasty. Wouldn’t change a thing ! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming . Love the whole vibe and all the accompanying shops. Will definitely be back !“

Updating this review in November 2024. The place is still amazing! But had to remove a star for the parking situation. They use a service that requires you to scan a QR code and either pay for parking or get 3 hours free. It is NOT evident that you need to do this and none of the staff mentioned it. A couple weeks later, I got a fine letter. I ended up having to pay "Parking Revenue Recovery Services" a total of a $99 fine. I wish someone at the Salty Sow informed me of this. I would have rather spent that money at the restaurant the next time I visited. Y'all should change this process with your parking vendor.“

Just like you can't rush a good smoke, you shouldn't rush a customer and the guys behind the counter helped each customer with patience, laughter and knowledge. We got it all!! Smokey, spicey, creamy and addicting! Black's has been doing this for 90 years and it shows, everything was the best! “Place is great! It’s consistent with the service, food and atmosphere. Every single family and friend we’ve gathered with absolutely LOVES this restaurant. We have been coming here for years and the tourists that feel it’s a “tourist trap” need to understand what type of restaurant they are walking into- local, great food, service and family owned. Knockout martini is amazing, Bob Armstrong dip is unbeatable. The burritos and beef fajitas are the best by far. Ordered bundt cakes today to my office-- unfortunately, there was a small fire on our ground floor this morning and they we're not letting anyone enter the building for the next few hours after. I figured we would have to postpone our cake delivery, but no. Brian from nothing bundt cakes literally walked up 13 flights of stairs to deliver our cakes!!! Insane. Above and beyond service! “My nephew wanted to try Ethiopian food, so we found ourselves here while in Austin. The food was good. It was better than the first time I tried Ethiopian food in Houston. I think the part that you have to get used to is the bread. You use the bread to scoop up your bites of food. The bread itself is different than anything you have had. It kinda reminds me of a savory pancake. Yes, the food was good, but the best part of this experience was our waitress Miriam.
