“I swung by Terry Black’s this morning to pick up a big order of barbecue to take to friends in California, because they need to know what the very best barbecue in Texas tastes like. ❤️ Chad, Sharon, and Kait were so helpful behind the counter, making sure everything was wrapped perfectly for a travel cooler and ready to survive a flight, complete with reheating instructions for when it arrived. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. They took the time to visit with me, answered all of my questions, and made the whole experience feel personal instead of rushed. We ended up having some great conversations, and they even let us sample a few things before we decided exactly what to order. The food is phenomenal, but the people are what make you want to come back. Texas barbecue is about more than brisket, it’s about generosity and making people feel welcome, and this team absolutely nailed it. Can’t wait to share a little taste of Texas with my California friends.“

“Tonight, my husband and I tried Uchiko for the first time. We had the Okamase. Everything was absolutely delicious. They put so much creativity and detail in every dish. We had a wonderful waitress. I would definitely recommend it.“

“I’ve been here many times over the years and they still continue to impress. The food is straightforward and simple but incredibly well done.
The duck fat fries are always a hit, the chicken thighs are fantastic (perfectly crispy skin and tender, juicy meat), and the banana foster beignets are great (and huge - a large table could share this one dessert).
One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in town.“

“We had a great breakfast here! The food was amazing and my spelling of what we had would be off.
So let the pictures speak for themselves. The flavours were great! The chef is a precious person to this establishment as well with world class experience.
I will be coming back and luckily I live 3 kilometres away.

We ordered the whole fried chicken, sizzling chicken, and pancit, and every single dish was absolutely incredible. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. The sizzling chicken arrived hot and sizzling with bold, mouthwatering flavors that kept us coming back for more. The pancit was perfectly seasoned, packed with fresh ingredients, and tasted just like home. The food was truly out of this world—authentic Filipino comfort food made with love. The portions were generous, the service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere made us feel like family. Whether you're Filipino craving the taste of home or someone trying Filipino cuisine for the first time, I highly recommend this place. We'll definitely be back whenever we're in Austin!“

“Place is great! It’s consistent with the service, food and atmosphere. Every single family and friend we’ve gathered with absolutely LOVES this restaurant. We have been coming here for years and the tourists that feel it’s a “tourist trap” need to understand what type of restaurant they are walking into- local, great food, service and family owned. Knockout martini is amazing, Bob Armstrong dip is unbeatable. The burritos and beef fajitas are the best by far. We will continue to support Austin’s favorite Tex mex restaurant and clearly the people that matter will too.“

“I finally made it to Nate's Baked Goods on Saturday. We had the dinner for 2 for $40 via takeout. Every single item was delish and there was enough for a second meal. The salads and dressings were even exceptional but my favorite part of the meal were the White Super Buns w/ French butter glaze! I highly recommend these two dinner items: #5 Chicken pot pie w/ diced Yukon gold potatoes, English peas & carrots w/ handmade pie crust - Mixed roasted green veggies - Butter lettuce salad w/ English cucumbers, orange bell peppers & hot house tomatoes w/ buttermilk dressing #10 Charcoal Grilled pork tenderloin - handmade potato gnocchi tossed in light mustard sauce w/local squash, Mixed greens salad w/ orange bell peppers, parmesan cheese & Green Goddess dressing - White Super buns w/ French butter glaze And, here's the best: dinners come w/ bakery cookies for dessert“

“At 67 years old I've eaten more pastries than I should have and I can honestly say without a doubt the raspberry kolache that I had at Teal House is far and away the best pastry that I've ever eaten in my entire life.
