“Went to Little Woodrows off of 249 and Gloria Mae's had a food truck set up there. Staff was super friendly and answered all my questions. I ended. Up ordering the spicy chicken strip dinner with toast and okra. It took about 15 minutes for my food to be ready and it was worth the little wait. The spicy chicken strips had a nice little kick to them and their dipping sauce was a perfect compliment! The toast was nice and buttery and the fried okra was some of the best I have ever had! Highly recommend Gloria Mae's if you're looking for some southern fried goodness!“

“My husband and I went to this spot once since we were hungry and far from home! The chicken was so good, we went home and couldn’t stop thinking about this fried chicken, we came back days later. The second time was the same thing. Golden crispy well-seasoned juicy fried chicken lol We loved it. Best fried chicken we have had since living in Houston, TX.

“It was my first time coming here for lunch for my birthday and it was amazing. I ordered the stone crab claws that are in season, $9.50 for medium claws and $36 ish for the jumbo (per claw). I ordered 3 medium stone crab claws, they had differing textures which I thought was weird, but it was good overall, more meat than I thought. The Parmesan bread and lump crab cake were phenomenal. They only give one crab cake on a puddle of sauce (not pictured) but the one cake was out of this world delicious. The baked Alaska was so good, we got it for my birthday too. The sauté was amazing and the shrimp and scallop were perfectly cooked. We paid $232 for 3 people so it wasn’t bad. Our waitress was super sweet and knowledgeable. Not sure her name but she wore glasses and a messy bun.“

“Love, love, love this restaurant. Great menu and a great place for seafood lovers (My husband). Even if you don't eat seafood (which I don't) I love their Chicken Enchiladas Verdes, grilled chicken sandwich, burger, but my all time favorite is their chicken fried rice! (Yes, best Asian rice in the city.) A good value, and very sweet staff...plus they have Mexican Coca-Cola and other sodas from our friends South of the Border. Hubs likes their margaritas.“

“This is a fairly new place that has been open only for a month and some. The owner was super nice and explained everything. They gave us some complimentary shrimp corn bisque which was delicious. I came for the crawfish and it was well seasoned on the inside and out. I will be back to get more, and try some fried food.“

“I normally stop once a week and eat here because it's quick and on the way home the food is always piping hot the boudin balls are good the grill catfish is excellent although the rice can be much and kind of dry all in all it's a good place to stop and get food it's always clean food is always fresh“

“One of the best meals I've eaten this year was at La Palapa Coastal Cantina tonight. Every dish we tried was made from scratch with fresh ingredients, the portions were generous and most importantly everything was delicious. The restaurant was very busy but we didn't have to wait an extraordinary amount of time to get our food. Our waitress was attentive, our drinks never went empty and I felt very well taken care of. They start you off with chips served with a ranch type dip and a fresh salsa. The chips were fresh and crispy and held up well to the yummy salsa. The salsa was very bright and wasn't too spicy but had a nice amount of heat. Next we tried a cup of their Chicken and sausage gumbo . The garlic toast that comes with the gumbo is the best garlic toast I've eaten. It was crisp , crunchy had a nice amount of garlic and butter but what really set it apart was the cheese they put on top (parmesan maybe?) SO GOOD. The gumbo had a nice flavor with a good portion size. I liked that there was plenty of chicken and sausage in it so you got some in every bite. The sweet chili glazed salmon was a special treat. It came sizzling in a pan of a sweet spicy sauce with plenty to dab my salmon into. I will definitely get this dish again. My partner who hates fish even loved it!!! The fish was nice and flaky and easily broke apart with a fork. I was glad to see they did not include the skin. It came with a piece of their incredible garlic toast, mixed veggies and outstanding mashed potatoes that were perfectly buttery and creamy. SO GOOD! We split the fajita Molcajete for two. My goodness it had everything! It comes with tasty andouille sausage, steak fajita, chicken fajita, grilled shrimp, and a piece of grilled cheese (not the sandwich, it was a piece of white cheese that had been grilled, salty and creamy but firm .. unexpected but very tasty). There is also two onion bulbs, jalapeños, and a generous portion of avocado. These were all placed in a molcajete that was filled with green salsa. We tried both the flour and corn tortillas which both appeared to be fresh made from scratch. All the meats and the grilled cheese were yummy although I will ask for them to be served separately from the salsa they are presented in in the future just out of personal preference. Served with the molcajecte was my choice of charro beans (you could also pick refried) and DIRTY RICE! the Dirty rice packed a lot of flavor and had a lot of chunks of sausage throughout it. I loved having this instead of the traditional Mexican rice I normally get with fajitas. The flavor was really yummy and it was a delicious addition. Sour cream,pico de gallo, and guacamole also came with the dish at no additional charge. One thing I kept noticing about the dishes that were being served to tables around me were how generous the portions were and how delicious everyone's food looked. The table next to us had the Steak Nachos which I saw multiple people order while we were there.... I will absolutely be coming back to try them. Instead of the pitiful couple chips you get at Pappasitos , the Nachos at La Palapa come with a heaping plate full of meat chips and cheese (aswell as lettuce, pico, jalapeños, beans, sour cream and guacamole) I also took a photo of their Friday night special the Palapa Boat Fish and Shrimp which looked really tasty. The other dish that caught my eye that I definitely recommend checking out was their Boil Combos. I did not get a picture but was very impressed with how much came on one and the family I saw eating it seemed to really enjoy their dinner. We ordered a piece of their White Chocolate Bourbon Bread Pudding for dessert. It came to us hot and fresh with a very nice creamy texture. The bourbon sauce that came with it had a bit of a bite and it all mixed well together. We ate it too quickly to get a picture. My apologies. Overall I really encourage you to seek out La Palapa Coastal Cantina. They have two locations. We went to the one in Spring on 2920. It “

“My husband and I visited the Katy location on Valentine's Day. At first, I was a little taken back by what the hostess and the manager/owner were wearing. Because it was supposed to be a nice steakhouse, I assumed they would've been dressed nicer rather than shorts and what looked like a Hawaiian shirt. However, the food and the service were phenomenal. The pecan butter was amazing. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. “This place is a must try! We went and it was our first family outing with our baby. I was a little nervous but it couldn’t have gone better. We were there celebrating my husband’s new job and the staff was extremely kind, the atmosphere is calming and serene. When I walked in, I immediately noticed the lively atmosphere and knew I had to come back for a dine-in experience with my family. So, after church today, we did just that—and I’m glad we did! We started with the Cajun fries as an appetizer, and they were absolutely delicious. For drinks, I ordered a Jameson Apple. Normally, I prefer my whiskey neat or on the rocks, but this cocktail was both flavorful and strong—a perfect balance. Now, onto the crawfish! The taste, size, and seasoning were all spot on. I was really pleased with the flavor. The only downside for me was the price per pound. Even with their special—buy 5 lbs, get 1 free—the cost was still $10 per lb, which feels a bit steep considering the competition. Dropping the price by a dollar or two would make it even more appealing. That said, my family and I had a great experience. The food, drinks, and customer service were all excellent. I highly recommend this place!“
