“We started with the Refuge Sampler that gave us a taste of 4 of their appetizers. They were all wonderful. We split a Caesar salad, then I had the Refuge Filet w/ jalapeño and bacon wrapped 6” filet with blue cheese crumble. It came with mashed potatoes and broccolini. It was perfectly cooked Angus Beef but could have used more blue cheese. Otherwise delicious. My husband had the steak and crab stuffed shrimp.. his steak was a little undercooked and he sent it back (always a bad idea). It came back overcooked but he accepted it. It was still delicious but medium well. It came with asparagus risotto and asparagus. Also, very tasty. I like that the sides were included, but you had the opportunity to get additional shareable sides. Eric, our server was friendly and attentive without being overly so. My only complaint was the martini. Delicious but a $4 upcharge for blue cheese olives on an already pricey drink, really? Overall a very enjoyable dinner.”

“On July 12 my grandmother and I went to lunch at Top Sushi when a huge storm came in. The manager who has always been so friendly, welcoming, and kind was there and went to every table offering to walk each customer to their car with his personal umbrella. While I went to grab the car he stayed with my grandmother, held her things, and made sure she got in the car dry while he got hit by the rain. He also showed such concern to me making sure I wasn’t driving far and told me we were more than welcome to stay at the restaurant until the storm is over. I was so moved by his gracious acts and being a genuinely great person. You don’t see that anymore and I am so appreciative of him. I did not get his name but I want him to know how much that moved my grandmother and I. Thank you!!”

“Awesome locally owned mom and pop taco truck at Kuykendahl and Dowdell by the Valero, another contender for the coming soon Nick's Local Eats - Top 10 Taco Truck/Taqueria / Gas station Tacos list. For You For Me Tacos.com is great, we had a sampling of some of Omar Barranco and his wife Rosy menu items and meats. The Chorizo Egg & Potatoe and Chorizo & Potatoes are very good here. The gorditas are made fresh from scratch daily, we had it with pastor. Barbacoa taco was so flavorful and not a greasy mess like other places. Beef Fajita tostada is a steal for $4 bucks. The beef fajitas burrito was packed with goodness of fajitas, rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cheese. Chicken Tinga Torta another winner! We also had Guava Water which is amazing! I can't believe they have been there four years and never stopped to try them. Small covered and adorable dining room is next door to the truck. Mon - Sat 7am - 5pm. Definitely a top 5 taco truck contender, you can tell the owners care of the level and good quality of food they are putting out. Btw, they also do full catering. Go support a local gem soon. I love the ambiance of the place the fact that it's small and cozy and the menu appealed it to me but if the execution, service and availability is not there then what fronted out as an excellent experience leaves a bad taste on the end. I really hope to read that things have turned around since your last reviews. And do bear in mind that I know that people might complain for reasons that have nothing to do with the restaurant however that being said if they took the time to post it on the site I'm going to keep it in my mind until I read differently. “New nice spot in Creekside. Inside looks nice and food is good. Would not recommend the Red Beans and Rice. Very bland. Rice seems like instant rice and beans close to refried beans from a can. Business is new but the servers need a bit more knowledge of the menu. We knew more of the menu from social media but looking for the personal interaction. Main issue was the $6 each charge for a single scoop of Connie's Custard when Connie's charges $4.57 for a Jumbo. Suggestion would be to add a mini scoop option for the kiddos at a much more resonable price and/or include with the kids meal. Will visit again and hopefully staff can speak more of the menu, specials, or options for substitution. Just giving an honest review as yall are new.”

“I was extremely delighted with our visit to Rudy's today. The husband and I picked my parents up and took them for lunch. I really wish I had gotten our cashier's name. He was an older gentleman, (69 yrs old to be exact. He actually mentioned his age) and he was so pleasant and patient while we all placed our orders. I tipped him. He said, "Well, this is unexpected." I explained to him that I appreciated him being personable with us and not just asking us what we wanted and taking our money. He made jokes and laughed at our jokes. It was the best visit I've ever had at any Rudy's location to date. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their choices and ate every bite. It was my first time trying the baby back ribs. They were delicious. Also, they had a new Jalapeno Cheddar sausage which I also thoroughly enjoyed! The atmosphere was consistent with a normal Rudy's atmosphere, but it was clean and they had UFC and the Astros on the TV's which are 2 of our favorite things to watch, so it was an all around delightful visit today!”

I also tried a side of collard greens, and they had so much flavor and were very delicious! I keep saying flavor flavor, but this is something their food does not lack. They give attention to all the details of your meal: from the main star, the chicken, through slaw, potato wedges, and even pickles. “I had the pleasure of speaking to Ana a few times about a surgery that I was having. I wanted to make sure my body received all the nutrients I needed after a surgery that I was having. I was not able to eat solids for a couple of days. Ana set me up with everything I needed to allow my body to heal during my recovery. They even delivered it to my house. I can’t imagine how my body would have responded without all the powerful nutrient rich juices I consumed during my recovery.
