“This place is the emoji of chef’s kiss ?. I landed in SLC and had a few hours to burn before I get into my day. Pulled up yelp and saw this place close to downtown (it’s a little outside but part of downtown - by the library) and thought should be fine. I was wrong, it was way better than fine.

The shop shared a kitchen with lady flour so the signage is a little confusing but it had a very old school vibe. Anybody who had been into an old school cafe or donut shop will remember the tables. The music and ambiance created a chill environment. A+

I ordered a breakfast sandwich and coffee and talked to the cashier if I could chill for a few hours. He said of course and gave me the WiFi password - service A+.

I take my first bite of my breakfast sandwich - heck yeah it was good. A+

I’m a fan of this place. If I lived in SLC, this would be my go to spot. Definitely plan on coming back when I leave California and find myself in SLC.“

My grandpa would take me for ice cream and then we’d go to Carol’s for the yummiest eclairs on the planet. He was always friends with everyone and the owners of this place were no exception. “This is going to be a long review. When you first walk in you are met with a delicious aroma of fresh bread, and pastries. The staff beats you with such sincerity that you feel like your family. I had called to put in a large catering order Tuesday afternoon right before closing; Wednesday was a holiday and I needed it by Thursday morning. They had everything boxed up ready to go…. Only for me to realize the coolers I bought were not big enough for a box. They offered to repackage everything into smaller boxes. The smaller boxes worked perfectly. While I waited I ordered the Turkey, avocado, bacon sandwich. I can honestly say that was the best turkey avocado, bacon sandwich I have ever eaten. As I write this, I am thinking of how delicious that sandwich was and trying to convince myself that a 50 mile drive for a sandwich is a bit much. The turkey was a thicker cut, juicy, flavorful, and it had that Thanksgiving roasted flavor to it. The bacon Cooked perfectly, not too crisp so you don’t chip a tooth , and not underdone where it is chewy. The avocado was fresh, and it was ripened to the perfect stage. The sandwich also contained some lettuce, and a dressing, which was delicious. All of this delectable goodness placed on fresh bread. The bread had a perfect crunchy outer crust While the inside was soft. The bread itself had an amazing flavor to it with all the seeds and nuts in it made a perfect sandwich. I will write a follow up after the party tonight. It will include photos.“

“Went once in the afternoon, smelled good but was around 630pm so I figured there wouldn’t be a lot and told them I pass by here everyday for work and will be back… well I figured a bakery would be open for the commute. It’s a great spot for people on the west side going to work on the east but then I saw they open at 9am??? I’m sad I’ll never get to try them again! Closed or slim picking by my off time. Misses opportunity for sure.“

I recently visited Granary Bakehouse and tried both their croissant and scone, and I have to say, the croissant is one of the best I’ve ever had. Having been to hundreds of bakeries across North America and Europe, this one stands at the top. The croissant is incredibly flaky with layers that melt in your mouth. They found a solution for us, because they didn't have our regular rolls. “Came here for coffee and a light breakfast. I got the toast of the day, beet hummus and ricotta and my friend got the sandwich of the day, ham and cheese. The toast was good but was pretty expensive at $9. The sandwich was a better deal at $12 and was quite tasty but it had really fibrous, inedible pieces of fennel in it which you had to pick out. I also got a couple pastries and a sourdough loaf to-go. The pain au chocolate was $9 but was ridiculously good, so flaky and buttery! Worth it as a special treat. The food was good but didn't seem worth the price, I think the move for table x bread is going for the freshly baked pastries and breads instead of ordering the toasts/sandwiches. Their bread is so good, crispy and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside, highly recommend the sourdough. The drip coffee was also worth it, very flavorful and reasonably priced. If you plan to eat here, be mindful that there are only 3 indoor seats (there are several small tables outside).“

She created a box of cookies with pictures of the bride & groom that were not only fun but delicious. In addition the truffle hearts were SO SCRUMPTIOUS that I am craving them and will be asking her to send them to NYC where we live. The entire packaging of the cookies & sweets were elegant. “I used to volunteer there for 4 yrs 2007 to 2011 i loved every minute of it. Every time customers enter the doors of welfare square i always greet them with a smile. Welfare square is such a great place with great services. My most experiences that i will always cherish forever is when i was a customer service host which i love cause i get to help out customers with getting everything they need.
