“OMG... if you haven’t tried this bakery, and you love French Baked Goods, V&R is a MUST!!! They bake authentic French breads and pastries... which I’ve been searching for and hadn’t found until now! Their croissants are flaky outside and moist inside, and their orange chocolate rolls are to die for with its tangy sweet glaze over a melt in your mouth pastry, and their raspberry tart is truly amazing, especially the mascarpone filling... beautifully crafted. I am a personal chef, and my French client is adamant that I get pastries exclusively from V&R Baking Company! I’m so grateful they are here in Salt Lake City!!!“

My go to is the Frisco Burger. The Pot Pies and desert pies are also fantastic. The prices have gone up over there years, but so has everywhere else.“

“This place is the emoji of chef’s kiss ?. I landed in SLC and had a few hours to burn before I get into my day. Pulled up yelp and saw this place close to downtown (it’s a little outside but part of downtown - by the library) and thought should be fine. I was wrong, it was way better than fine.

The shop shared a kitchen with lady flour so the signage is a little confusing but it had a very old school vibe. Anybody who had been into an old school cafe or donut shop will remember the tables. The music and ambiance created a chill environment. A+

I ordered a breakfast sandwich and coffee and talked to the cashier if I could chill for a few hours. He said of course and gave me the WiFi password - service A+.

I take my first bite of my breakfast sandwich - heck yeah it was good. A+

“This is going to be a long review. When you first walk in you are met with a delicious aroma of fresh bread, and pastries. The staff beats you with such sincerity that you feel like your family. I had called to put in a large catering order Tuesday afternoon right before closing; Wednesday was a holiday and I needed it by Thursday morning. They had everything boxed up ready to go…. Only for me to realize the coolers I bought were not big enough for a box. They offered to repackage everything into smaller boxes. The smaller boxes worked perfectly. While I waited I ordered the Turkey, avocado, bacon sandwich. I can honestly say that was the best turkey avocado, bacon sandwich I have ever eaten. As I write this, I am thinking of how delicious that sandwich was and trying to convince myself that a 50 mile drive for a sandwich is a bit much. The turkey was a thicker cut, juicy, flavorful, and it had that Thanksgiving roasted flavor to it. The bacon Cooked perfectly, not too crisp so you don’t chip a tooth , and not underdone where it is chewy. The avocado was fresh, and it was ripened to the perfect stage. The sandwich also contained some lettuce, and a dressing, which was delicious. All of this delectable goodness placed on fresh bread. The bread had a perfect crunchy outer crust While the inside was soft. The bread itself had an amazing flavor to it with all the seeds and nuts in it made a perfect sandwich. I will write a follow up after the party tonight. It will include photos.“

“This place is such a vibe. The place is set up nicely. I have tried so many of their pastes and I honestly haven’t had a bad one. All their pastries and drinks that I’ve tries is phenomenal. I love coming here when I drive up to Salt Lake. I wish we had a branch down here in Orem. I would recommend any of their croissant donuts! They’re my favorite. “I just went to Crumbl in west valley on 3500S and that store had a great staff. They had great energy and customer service. Talking to people. Making conversation. Professional. Yelling “welcome to Crumbl” when people walked in. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you don’t see good customer service anymore so that was refreshing.

The donuts are as big as your face and the cherry jelly donut is like tart cherry pie filling with a hint of nutmeg--best donut I've had in SLC, no contest. The bagels are also solid. “Granary Bakehouse is an absolute treasure. The croissant I had was divine—flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of crispness. It's easily one of the best I've had in the city. Ok, it is the best one. I am very specific about my croissants.

I also tried their bagels, which are perfectly chewy with a crust, just the way a bagel should be. They know what they are doing.

And don’t even get me started on the scones—they are out of this world! Moist, flavorful, and not too sweet, not too soft either. A real scone. I hope more coffee shops around the valley will source their scones out of here.“

“I live in the Buffalo New York area and I have recently discovered this bread at a local grocery store. I love it. I love the flavor. I love the hamburger rolls as well. My only complaint is that the bread that comes sliced is full of lots of holes it’s hard to get one piece of bread that doesn’t disintegrate when I eat it, but I’ll take it because it definitely Has amazing flavor.“

“I can’t say enough about these cookies! I was in SLC on a mini vacation and stumbled upon the store while exploring. I am a cookie fanatic so I had to stop in. These cookies are heaven! And the sample size was a whole quarter of the cookies! They aren’t too sweet, the flavors are creative and all work well (who would have thought a butternut squash cookie would be so good), perfectly baked. I took a dozen home with me last night. There are only crumbs left lol“

“Came here for coffee and a light breakfast. I got the toast of the day, beet hummus and ricotta and my friend got the sandwich of the day, ham and cheese. The toast was good but was pretty expensive at $9. The sandwich was a better deal at $12 and was quite tasty but it had really fibrous, inedible pieces of fennel in it which you had to pick out. I also got a couple pastries and a sourdough loaf to-go. The pain au chocolate was $9 but was ridiculously good, so flaky and buttery! Worth it as a special treat. The food was good but didn't seem worth the price, I think the move for table x bread is going for the freshly baked pastries and breads instead of ordering the toasts/sandwiches. Their bread is so good, crispy and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside, highly recommend the sourdough. The drip coffee was also worth it, very flavorful and reasonably priced. If you plan to eat here, be mindful that there are only 3 indoor seats (there are several small tables outside).“

I will pass by many bakeries on my route there simply because they are so good. My English brother in law is very particular about sausage rolls. I always have to buy extra because it reminds him of home and devours Leslie's rolls at every visit. The almond ring, eclairs, and mini chocolate pineapple rum cakes are my go-to items with every visit, but there's always something new to try. The June eclair flavor of the month was raspberry lemonade, filled with a flavor-bursting lemon creme, topped with lemon icing and raspberry bits to balance the flavor. During the holidays there are shamrock cookies, gingerbread people cookies, etc.“
