“So many yummy pastries! Always on the rotation for fresh breads as they come out, and good selections of savory and sweet. My top picks are: Hokkaido Milk Bun, Pineapple Cake, and the chocolate cake?? Whatever the square one is called, that’s my go to birthday cake for friends. I’ve ventured on quite the range here and never had really any misses. Some more that are favorites over others, but overall, clean, fresh, and yummy!“

“I love this place. The food is amazing. The people are amazing. They have a clear mission to help animals and do so in a variety of ways beyond providing the community with a delicious vegan restaurant. I’ve been happy with every meal and the desserts and candies are well worth the price.

It was also delicious, the cream cheese icing was so light and yummy. The cake got eaten up there was barely any leftovers. The service was friendly and professional. Cake was done on time. “This place is the emoji of chef’s kiss ?. I landed in SLC and had a few hours to burn before I get into my day. Pulled up yelp and saw this place close to downtown (it’s a little outside but part of downtown - by the library) and thought should be fine. I was wrong, it was way better than fine.

The shop shared a kitchen with lady flour so the signage is a little confusing but it had a very old school vibe. Anybody who had been into an old school cafe or donut shop will remember the tables. The music and ambiance created a chill environment. A+

I ordered a breakfast sandwich and coffee and talked to the cashier if I could chill for a few hours. He said of course and gave me the WiFi password - service A+.

I take my first bite of my breakfast sandwich - heck yeah it was good. A+

I’m a fan of this place. If I lived in SLC, this would be my go to spot. Definitely plan on coming back when I leave California and find myself in SLC.“

“This place is such a vibe. The place is set up nicely. I have tried so many of their pastes and I honestly haven’t had a bad one. All their pastries and drinks that I’ve tries is phenomenal. I love coming here when I drive up to Salt Lake. I wish we had a branch down here in Orem. I would recommend any of their croissant donuts! They’re my favorite. The owner and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The store is also very clean, especially for a busy store.“

I recently visited Granary Bakehouse and tried both their croissant and scone, and I have to say, the croissant is one of the best I’ve ever had. “Pasties are phenomenal--the dough is so well-seasoned that even bites that are just crust are still totally delicious. The donuts are as big as your face and the cherry jelly donut is like tart cherry pie filling with a hint of nutmeg--best donut I've had in SLC, no contest. The bagels are also solid. Nothing on this menu has disappointed, and I've tried most of it. The only area I'd say could really stand improvement is they should step up their coffee game to match the quality of the food.“

Both the former/original owner and the new owners are wonderful and dedicated people. Abdulkarim and Zahra, formerly a veterinarian and a seamstress, were refugees from Syria in 2008. They were inspired to bring their delicious tastes to their new home in Utah.I absolutely LOVE the assortment of food options- savory meats and bread combination and also lots of sweet treats in many sizes! A must to stop by every other week! Yummy stop for lunch, dinner, take-out, or to pick up a bunch of desserts or finger foods for a group event. “While this isn't a shiny new bakery, the fact that Leslie's had been around for decades speaks volumes about their consistency and quality. I will pass by many bakeries on my route there simply because they are so good. My English brother in law is very particular about sausage rolls. I always have to buy extra because it reminds him of home and devours Leslie's rolls at every visit. The almond ring, eclairs, and mini chocolate pineapple rum cakes are my go-to items with every visit, but there's always something new to try. The June eclair flavor of the month was raspberry lemonade, filled with a flavor-bursting lemon creme, topped with lemon icing and raspberry bits to balance the flavor. During the holidays there are shamrock cookies, gingerbread people cookies, etc.“

“Came here for coffee and a light breakfast. I got the toast of the day, beet hummus and ricotta and my friend got the sandwich of the day, ham and cheese. The toast was good but was pretty expensive at $9. The sandwich was a better deal at $12 and was quite tasty but it had really fibrous, inedible pieces of fennel in it which you had to pick out. I also got a couple pastries and a sourdough loaf to-go. The pain au chocolate was $9 but was ridiculously good, so flaky and buttery! Worth it as a special treat. The food was good but didn't seem worth the price, I think the move for table x bread is going for the freshly baked pastries and breads instead of ordering the toasts/sandwiches. Their bread is so good, crispy and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside, highly recommend the sourdough. The drip coffee was also worth it, very flavorful and reasonably priced. If you plan to eat here, be mindful that there are only 3 indoor seats (there are several small tables outside).“

And the sample size was a whole quarter of the cookies! They aren’t too sweet, the flavors are creative and all work well (who would have thought a butternut squash cookie would be so good), perfectly baked. I took a dozen home with me last night. “Schmidt's Pastry Cottage is the only place I could find that will write names on cookies. I've only tried the sugar cookies, apple fritters and brownies. They are hands down, by far the best I've ever had! I will definitely be going back to try the rest of the menu. I'll never go anywhere else. Fan for life! Also, the staff are super friendly and helpful.

“OMG... if you haven’t tried this bakery, and you love French Baked Goods, V&R is a MUST!!! They bake authentic French breads and pastries... which I’ve been searching for and hadn’t found until now! Their croissants are flaky outside and moist inside, and their orange chocolate rolls are to die for with its tangy sweet glaze over a melt in your mouth pastry, and their raspberry tart is truly amazing, especially the mascarpone filling... beautifully crafted.
