“It was amazing. Simply amazing. Casual, not luxurious, but so cute. Small yet roomy. And clean. The pizza was incredible. I think they make their tomato sauce themselves. You know how at those fancy pizzerias the taste is good but when you fold the slice New York–style, the tip droops down because it’s soggy? This was nothing like that. It was a huge pizza, but the tip of the slice never drooped. Perfectly crispy.
They also give little packets of oregano and amazingly good chili flakes, which I thought was such a nice touch.
The interior is very charming. I just think the lemonade could have been a bit better. I hope the taste always stays this way.“

“The Sea Bass was a total suprise. More often than not I am dissapointed when I order fish. Not the case here. The presentation was superb. The blend of flavors, textures and colors was an epicurean delight. Our waiter/bartender Damany was thoughtful, always on point without being intrusive. The whole experience was one worth repeating.“

“We enjoyed the chicken curry, the paneer tikka masala, the non-veg thali, garlic naan, chai tea, mint mojito, galub jamun and kheer. We were visiting DC, and the food was so good we came in a second night. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff and owner very professional and personable. Highly recommend.“

“Love this place! Dinner is always 10/10 but service, we had Alena or elena and she was just the sweetest young lady and she knows was shes doing, and she was honest too with her recommendations! We always have a tuna and oysters! Then steak this time we shared the cowboy ribeye and added scallops which by the way is not on the menu but elena said they could do it and it was delicious!! 5 star service“

“We could not believe our luck finding this gem of a place, whilst on holiday from Scotland! The food? What can I say to make folk reach out to you? Just go and you’ll experience the most wonderful home cooked food and the greatest ambience! .. staff and management couldn’t make you feel more welcome! Keep the good work up and hopefully see you next visit! “Best pho I’ve ever had! I take my friends here to show them and they all love it. I usually do takeout but I dined in today, the food came out very fast. I usually prefer a more spaced out seating arrangement but that’s my own personal opinion and it isn’t even possible because the place is small. It doesn’t take away from the beauty of this restaurant. 10/10 would recommend!“

“I visited Jake’s Place for breakfast in Old Town Alexandria this past Sunday, and I have to say, every meal was absolutely delicious! From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home. But I need to wait for a table. Totally worth it! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, truly a breakfast lover’s dream. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu. Highly recommend!“

“Well... you could not finish my 1/2 chicken with a side salad and yuka. This means that the portions are pretty good size. The food was delicious and the service was fast. For 1/2 chicken and Malanesa de polls we paid $32 (no drinks). They offered water cups and we took them. The white sauce is mayo like, the green is spicy (you have been warned). I would recommend to friends.“

“I love El Paso, probably the best Mexican food in VA and the Beltway area. Being from California I hereby dub them legit and authentic. The birria pizza was 🔥🔥🔥🔥, carne asada is on point, burritos are great; every time I come here its always good. The margaritas are fuego flame as well. Gracias El Paso! We'll be back 100%.“

“Hometown Hitter! This place has been around since before I was born. However since I am new to the chicken on the bone crew and have entered the group chat let me let y'all know about this Alexandria City staple! First of all 530-230 Monday-Friday DASSIT. Don't try to go on Saturday or Sunday, you've been warned. Now...you must get a chicken breast sandwich, whatever way they suggest it to you, get it! (Hot sauce white bread etc) Now my hometown hitter has some new stuff on the menu that I have not tried personally but my friends/family have let us know on social media that the new dishes are a hit. We're talking about shrimp/grits to chicken/waffles. Check em out you won't be disappointed!
PS if you are ever driving around a neighborhood and a food spot has all the delivery folks...FedEx, UPS, City workers, construction workers etc that is a spot you want to try. Most of the lil small mom/pop spots are where it's at as far as good food. Just look for the blue collar workers who pull up to grab breakfast/lunch!
Wait was less than 5 minutes and this is a grab and go spot so no table! Check out the menu online. I am proud of them for branching outside of their comfort zone!
Also, growing up I got the Hamburger steak with cheese sandwich, pork chop, bean soup, bologna/egg/cheese or the good old scrapple/egg/cheese!“

“We came here for lunch and had a hard time finding street parking near by. I had the French onion soup which was decent but my chicken Cobb salad was extremely salty. The saltiness ruined a perfect good salad. My husband ordered a burger which was OK, not spectacular and so was the coleslaw. The waitress was nice and paid attention.“

“Il Porto was amazing! We needed to arrange a luncheon after my mother’s funeral and they were fantastic! We only had two day’s notice. They were so accommodating and helpful. The food and room were wonderful. Everyone enjoyed the experience and we were able to focus on honoring my mom. Thank you!!!“
