“An excellent dining experience from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Beautiful decor, stylish but comfortable seating, and just good vibes all round.

All of the food was amazing and so creative, especially the beet tartare which had this vegan egg yolk that looked and tasted like a real egg yolk! The mocktails were really fun too.

Only downside is that it’s pricey for the amount of food you get, but if you’re looking for a more refined dining experience with great atmosphere and delicious food you should definitely consider this place.“

“Stumbled upon this spot and am so glad I did! After our first time here, my boyfriend and I liked it so much that we came back five days later. Not only does it have great beer and a very cool dive-bar-vibe, but it is so wonderful that literally every item on the menu can be made vegan, with a huge selection of meat alternatives and yummy vegan cheeses (there's also a create-your-own section!) The side of chickpeas is also INCREDIBLE - a definite fave of both mine and my boyfriend (non-vegan). Updated from previous review on 2019-03-07“

“We had our wedding at the Commentary on 5/31/25 and we could not be more thrilled with our experience. Olivia Martel and Chef Fran were PHENOMENAL to work with. Anything we wanted, we got. We wanted a low key, chill wedding, and decided on stations and the pasta bar with a plethora of appetizers and the execution was a 10/10. We loved having the whole bar and restaurant to ourselves in Ballston and welcoming guests from across the country and being in the Commentary’s/Westin’s care. They took really great care of us and we couldn’t be more grateful for the most beautiful day of our lives.“

We have tried the lamb shank with rice, chicken shawarma, chicken brochette, falafel pita with fires and the hummus. Everything is fresh and delicious. Try it for yourself, and you will quickly understand why the reviews are so glowing. Astor, you have earned every bit of praise and more!!“

“We had such a great experience. Lizz was our server and she was amazing!!! This was our family’s first time here and we were celebrating our son for earning straight A’s on his report card. They gave him the most delicious donuts and Lizz made really excellent dish recommendations. We will return for sure!!“

“We hosted a business reception here following a conference and we were so impressed with the Highline team for being so accommodating and responsive to our group's needs. We pulled the reception together pretty last-minute, and yet the Highline helped us to make the arrangements without any hassle. We will certainly be coming back!“

“Cafe Colline is spectacular. I had a toddler with me, was dressed in an adidas track suit, and wanted real food as we waited for someone working in the area. Most of the customers were much better dressed and without a child. Nothing wrong with this, just painting the picture. The staff could not have been nicer and more professional. We were greeted with open arms, sat immediately, and served with absolute professionalism. My food (the fish) was so good I considered licking the plate. They don’t necessarily have a kid’s menu but offered numerous things to make a toddler. I went with the burger and fries. They complimented this with numerous dipping sauces and made the burger to order. The charge was minimal and fair. I always clean up after him as toddlers can be messy and they insisted on letting them clean up (I did it anyway). Restrooms were spotless and the kitchen area you pass was very clean and well organized. It’s a small spot full of big talent. This will be a regular for us. A must dine.“

“Top tier place. This is the type of spot that has been needed in Arlington for quite some time with great music, atmosphere, food and drinks. All staff was incredibly polite and kept the place organized and efficient. Will definitely be coming back.“

“Average for a hotel restaurant. The convenience of being right inside The Westin is great, but the quality just doesn’t quite deliver.

The “focaccia” turned out to be rye bread with caraway seeds, not what we were expecting. We ordered it mainly for the whipped feta, which made for an interesting pairing. However, we did enjoy the assortment of pickled vegetables, honey, and butter on the side.

The meatballs were okay, nothing memorable. The pastrami sandwich was a letdown; we’d recommend skipping it.

On a positive note, the drinks were solid, reliable and well-made, as you’d expect from a hotel bar. Cheers!“

“We love Astro Beer Hall! It’s a great spot for watching our local DC sports teams and far flung games like the NFL in Europe. There’s a wide variety of food on the menu - something for everyone! There’s an extensive draft beer selection and a speciality cocktail menu if you’re looking for something adventurous. The staff keeps us coming back.“

“While waiting for a flight home from work meetings at DCA, I found myself sitting at the District bar and restaurant. I ordered a surf and turf tacos and they were very good with just the right amount of kick. The airport was very busy and there were not a lot of places for a sit down meal pre flight so i was very impressed with the food, the price and the service.“

“An excellent small hotel bar, proudly serving drinks and food for hotel guests and visitors.It's not a very crowded place as far as I can see, only a few patrons on a Sunday night, with plenty of seating at tables and at the bar. Food selection is typical American fare with seasonal specialties.I ordered the chicken tacos and the summer lager, they were pretty good, especially for the price. The staff was friendly, and there was prompt service.“

“I’m going to post the same review I gave on Yelp - this is a 5 Star place! After a day in DC, my family decided to try Soul Thai on our way home. What a terrific Experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best Thai we have ever had. The Pad Thai was amazing. The Hang Over Noodles (Drunken Noodles) was exceptional. And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. Initially we were sat in an area that was a little noisy for our taste, but they graciously moved us to a much quieter section. The owner, Nancy came over after our meal and was very appreciative of our comments on the meal. She shared with us that she personally picks the freshest ingredients she can find to ensure the quality of the food. I would highly recommend Soul Thai to everyone. We will be coming back soon. “Your beef steaks have a lot to be desired. Visiting from a state that grows a lot of beef your steaks are served just barely warm in the center with a slit sear on the outside. Unacceptable for a 40 dollar steak. I can't recommend your restaurant for a steak“

“We came to this restaurant to celebrate our daughter's birthday, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. Our server, Vi, was very rude for no reason. From the start, her attitude made us feel unwelcome. Once we finished eating, she made no effort at all to clear the plates from the table so we could enjoy dessert. We were sitting there surrounded by dirty dishes, and she walked by multiple times without acknowledging us or attempting to clean the table. It felt careless and disrespectful. What makes this even more frustrating is that this is not our first time here our previous visit was so much better, which is why we decided to come back for a special occasion. Sadly, the service this time was nowhere near the standard we expected. It really seems like when there's a table of five or more people, and the server knows a tip is guaranteed, they don't even try. This was just plain rude and very disappointing, especially on a day meant to celebrate. I hope management takes this seriously, because the food is good, but service like this makes people think twice about returning.“

“Overall above average, though not exceptional. Beef dishes (short ribs, filet mignon, and ribeye were ordered at our table) were appropriately cooked and were all excellent. Service/ambiance were rather average for the overall price we paid.“

When it comes to the food we tried the sushi roll I think I took the dragon roll and it was good but when it comes to the prices I can say it’s a little expensive to this quality. “We had a layover, and this was right next to our gate. The charcuterie was fantastic. The fig jam was some of the best we’ve ever eaten. The Lemon Shrimp was a full citric flavor blast, the Harissa was amazing, and the arugula salad was so fresh and crispy, with a delicious pepper forward flavor. The service was stellar. “I rarely write reviews, but my family and I had such a wonderful experience that I wanted to share it. We reserved a table for 6 for a birthday dinner for my brother and his family. The Waiter was superb, filling glasses each time they became even a bit low and promptly attending to us throughout our visit. He was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and had a fun sense of humor as well. The food was delicious. From the Bruschetta appetizer to our entrees, which ranged from Spaghetti and Meatballs to more sophisticated fare, each of us loved our food. The portions are generous and present a great value. Desert was tasty as well. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly as well. If you want high quality Italian food with excellent service at a fair price, then I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“Had a chance to see David Koechner do stand up at this venue last night. The venue is small and cozy with comfy chairs. Servers come around taking drink and food orders. This was my first time at the establishment and we had the best time! I’ll definitely be back for more shows!“
