“The best diner in America! The customer service was excellent. We received our food quickly. The quality of the food was delicious. I had pecan waffles, over medium eggs with hashbrowns that came with ham chunks and melted cheese. I also had a T-bone steak. All good! I highly recommend this place.“

“We came through Roanoke and ate at Hollywood Restaurant & Bakery. Food and service were fabulous but I want to rave about their customer service after we left. I called a few days later because I had left a jacket on the back of my chair. I asked if I could pay to have it shipped to me. They offered to ship it for free. “This was our first time going to Lucky and went at the advice of a friend. We were not disappointed! From the time we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess/server and brought to our table. We dined on the garlic scrapes an appetizer and amazing! The kimchi, garlic, soy and honey along with the fried garlic scrapes were an unlikely combo, but oh wow- did it work. I dined on the shrimp and grits, which was a new take on the classic and everything on the plate was perfect. My husband opted for the evenings chef special, which was Spanish cooked octopus. If done incorrectly, octopus can taste like a tire; but this was so tender you could cut it with a fork. It had a slight heat on the back end with chili flakes. Dessert we had the “davaroos” which are homemade lavender shortbread cookies with a lemon curd sauce. It was delicious!! Don't even get me started on the craft cocktails. Whatever you can think of, they can make and impeccably I might add . Hands down an amazing experience. We will be back!“

“Horrible experience. The descriptions on the menu are inaccurate. I went and had lunch with my 86-year-old mother. We ordered salads. She ordered Cobb salad and I ordered the fried chicken salad, because the description says it's served on a bed of "mixed greens". I hate iceberg lettuce. When my salad came, I ate the fried chicken tenders, but complained, because the salad was nothing but iceberg and romaine lettuce. The young, so-called manager, named TJ, was very rude and unapologetic and told me that lettuce is mixed greens. He told me if I wasn't happy, I could go to cooperate, in which I did. I was truly embarrassed by how I was treated in front of my mom. Update: I spoke to the owner Bob, he was super apologetic and embarrassed at how his employee treated us. He said the menu has been the same way for 30 plus years. We discussed how lettuce and mixed greens are NOT the same thing, and is misleading on the menu. I know after speaking with him that he will do the right thing.“

“Some probably have already been here, but this was my first time eating here on the restaurant side. If you haven’t already, be sure to swing by and give them a try! That salad was HUGE but all those veggies were probably the freshest I’ve ever gotten anywhere! And those season fries/chips were made to order, so hot and fresh, and cooked right! The server was working both the restaurant side and the bar side. There were like 2 birthday parties happening over there. But she managed to work both sides, not feeling overwhelmed (or at least she didn’t let it show) and was always friendly and was smiling. What a great personality! Highly disappointed that when i called ahead of time to ask if they had a dessert table, was told No. We had a party of 10 for a birthday celebration, so I brought a cake. When it was time to have our cake, i was told it would be a $1.00 a plate charge to have a dessert plate. Extremely turned off about that. Ruined our birthday celebration. Idk? Is this a thing? Never ever have heard of a plate fee.“

After a small confrontation with my server Steve over the table for 4 in a well lit area that I had requested when making my reservation through Open Table, that reminded me of the confrontation Ronald Reagan had at the radio station when they tried to take the microphone away from him and he replied "I am paying for this microphone," Steve handled himself like a gentleman and was able to bring out the best in him, providing me with an extraordinary dining experience. The food was amazing as usual, the ambiance distinguished, and the service exemplary. Billy's has been my favorite restaurant since I moved to the Star City of the South, Roanoke. Not only to dine on special occasions, but my philosophy has always been that you can make any day special by dining at Billy's. I totally recommend Billy's for the fine dining experience of your life.“

“I stopped into this little restaurant because I was wanting something different but the same ol same ol, some good hotdogs. The service waitresses Lydia and Jeanine were awesome!! I was a little complicated with my order ( as always 😅) I ordered 2 hotdogs with the larger weenies ( a must ), one with chili, plain chopped onions, mustard, and slaw. Second, same thing but with no slaw and grilled onions with a side of fries. Folks they had the fries I grew up on which takes me back to the 80s, CRINKLE CUT FRIES PPL 😀😀. Everything was very good and I would like one thing to change. I love chili without beans so I wish they would give you option of beans or no beans in chili. Regardless of that I still gave 5 stars across the board. The cooks deserve a HUGE HIGH FIVE 👏 because they brought it while making and preparing my food. The surrounding makes you think of ol school 80s and that's a 5 star rating to me. Don't forget to grab a desert, my suggestion is the Seasonal Pumpkin Cream Cheesecake, yummy 😋 So if you want something different give them a shot, I don't think you will be disappointed.“

“This is a nice Applebee’s. I went here for Thanksgiving and was satisfied with my experience. Since it was Thanksgiving, this Applebee’s had a limited menu of boneless wings and a few other items. I got a lemonade with no ice, which tasted good, and the boneless wings with extra hot buffalo sauce, which also tasted good. The bathroom here was quite clean. Unfortunately, these wings caused me to have to poop three times after eating them. I gave this Applebee’s five stars because it has nice wings and excellent service, with a very nice host and waitress.“

I had the fried catfish biscuit and added an egg on top, ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. 😍
The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection, it was so good that I’m afraid to order fish anywhere else in the soon future because it won’t be as good as what I just had here. 🥲
We shared a half order of blueberry Nutella French toast that was soooo good.

Can’t wait to come back next time I’m back in Roanoke.
