“One of those wonderful older mom and pop places that have survived decades of change. Obviously, for a good reason! The staff were so nice. The food was hot and good. I loved sitting at the bar with the swivel stools and a greasy spoon sign above the food window. “Let me start by saying I'm really picky about what I eat , when I went in initially they selected the wrong cheese and when I informed them, they just responded to give them a few minutes and they went and made it correct. When I got home and open the food. It was fresh and it looked good The taste was the stellar for me. I had the Philly cheesesteak and it was delicious.The portion is more than worth your dime. “I have no complaints about this place. All their food is amazing, the service is great and the atmosphere is fun and pleasant.Vegetarian options: There are quite a few vegetarian options. A lot of appetizers and even a meal or two. All of their veges are outstanding. And they are great at adding our removing things from meals.Parking: There is a lot of parking as it is at the mall, but the spaces are kinda tight, so park correctly and not with a giant car.“

Only this time our reserved party room was occupied upon arrival and it took them ten minutes to even show up to clear the prior people mess. Then there's no silverware. When my wife went to the To Go register to pick up plastic utensils, she was told "you're not supposed be here." "Your server will bring you some." We had not seen a server yet and we only saw one after one was requested. That was 45 minutes after the reservation start time. The neighboring part kept banging loudly on the partition between party rooms.Parking: Lot is part a strip mall, so plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: Lots for the kids to get here!“

“We decided to try the Dogwood restaurant based on all of the good reviews. We ordered two of the daily specials, which was catfish and salmon cakes. The food was very good and fresh. It did take about 15 minutes from the time we ordered to get our food. Other than the wait, food was great. ?“
“Classic dining experience in an elegant dining room! A combo was playing dinner music and a few couples were dancing. The food surpassed our expectations! We had great fish and seafood dishes, and many menu items are done with a Southern touch. Service was gracious and not rushed, which made for a lovely experience all around.“

“Good food, good service from a long-standing local business. Never have had to complain about anything the few times I've been there. Soft drinks are served by the can. Need to update bar area, would be a nice quiet drinking hangout for beers or wine. Clean up back part of restaurant and not use it as storage. Better outdoor lighting, more social media updates, and longer hours May attract more people to eat there. A lot of people I know thought it was closed because of the dimness, outdated appearance.“

I was searching for a place with “Chicken and Waffles” and got lucky that this place has a weekend special of it.The special was good, not the best I’ve had but still really good. The chicken especially was good, the waffle could have been better.The pancakes were pretty good and the service was excellent!I’d recommend you give it a try if you are in the area“
“My wife got a bowl of pinto beans with cornbread, and I got a bowl of chili with cornbread. After the food was delivered and we each tasted both, she wanted to trade with me. We each enjoyed the chili/soup, but we really, really liked the cornbread. We ordered extra cornbread. Delicious. Priced right, too. I could eat lunch here often if I lived near here.Parking: There's both a front and a side entrance. The front entrance is to the restaurant. The side entrance is to the bar (I'm told).Kid-friendliness: Go in the front door if you have kids. There's a kid's menu, too.“
“DO NOT MISS OUT. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, perfect for date night or to treat yourself to a good meal. The escargot was the best we've EVER had. Calamari so perfectly crispy and tender. The filet mignon was so tender and just melts in your mouth. The prime rib perfectly cooked. I wish I had room for desert.. Suzie was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed during our visit. 10000/10 We'll definitely be back“

The hotel behind this place is supposed to be shut down; however, it looks like they still allow a select few to stay there so It still looks really run down and known to be really dirty. The restaurant itself is clean and the bathrooms are clean & staff is great!“

“We had breakfast at the Challenger Ave Denny's on Easter morning. There was only one waitress working with tables starting to fill. She was working hard. All of a suddenly, Rodney, who was working in the kitchen, was both cooking and then started serving food to the tables with a great, upbeat attitude. He also made the rounds form table to table asking how the food was for us. A real super star!“

They have a new cook and he seems to do well.The establishment itself has not been renovated in a long time, it’s not particularly well kept or clean, i cannot speak for the kitchen, it may be totally different. There’s a little smell of smoke and a few pool tables in the back.I have an office close by and always notice a bit older, local crowd.I’ve never sat down to eat but I’ve stopped through to pickup small orders to go. Very fair prices, and they meet my expectations.“
