“Horrible experience. The descriptions on the menu are inaccurate. I went and had lunch with my 86-year-old mother. We ordered salads. She ordered Cobb salad and I ordered the fried chicken salad, because the description says it's served on a bed of "mixed greens". I hate iceberg lettuce. When my salad came, I ate the fried chicken tenders, but complained, because the salad was nothing but iceberg and romaine lettuce. The young, so-called manager, named TJ, was very rude and unapologetic and told me that lettuce is mixed greens. He told me if I wasn't happy, I could go to cooperate, in which I did. I was truly embarrassed by how I was treated in front of my mom. Update: I spoke to the owner Bob, he was super apologetic and embarrassed at how his employee treated us. He said the menu has been the same way for 30 plus years. We discussed how lettuce and mixed greens are NOT the same thing, and is misleading on the menu. I know after speaking with him that he will do the right thing.“

“I really can't say enough nice things about this place. The food we've had has always been outstanding. The beer selection has good variety (unlike other places that seem to almost entirely focus on IPAs and sours, which we hate) and there are lots of options for the non-beer drinkers. They were so gracious and accommodating recently when we came in for my husband's birthday - kept our ice cream cake cold, and brought it to us with serving utensils when we were ready. Seriously, who does that? And when we brought our pup in recently, one of the staff members brought us (out to the patio) a bowl of water and a biscuit without even being asked. Add in the atmosphere and frequent live music, and you've got a winner!“

“This was our first time eating at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, and we stopped here while on a road trip. We had never tried this restaurant chain before, but after this visit, we would definitely eat here again.

I ordered the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. The country fried steak was really good and had a nice crunchy batter on the outside while still being tender inside. There was plenty of gravy over the steak, and the mashed potatoes and gravy went perfectly with it. The portion was also huge, so you definitely aren’t leaving hungry.

My wife ordered the steak and shrimp with green beans. Her steak was cooked well, the shrimp had good seasoning, and she enjoyed her meal as well.

One of our favorite surprises was the croissants they bring to the table. They were warm, sweet, buttery, and almost tasted like a dessert. We loved that the first ones were complimentary, and honestly, charging about a dollar each if you want more afterward isn’t bad at all. They were good enough that I could see ordering extras.

The service was also very good. Our food and drinks came out in a timely manner, and we never felt like we were waiting around for anything. Everything from sitting down to getting our food went smoothly.

Overall, this was a great first experience with Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. Good food, large portions, good service, and reasonable prices for what you get. Since this was just a stop during our road trip, we didn’t know what to expect, but we were glad we gave it a try.

We would definitely visit Cheddar’s again, and when we get back home, we’ll be looking to see if there’s one nearby so we can try some other things on the menu.“

“If you’re in the mood for some fried chicken, this Zaxby’s on Hershberger Road is easily one of the best fast food restaurants in Roanoke.

My wife and I DoorDash regularly, and this location has consistently been one of our favorite places to pick up from. The staff is always friendly, professional, and respectful. More importantly, delivery drivers are acknowledged and treated like valued partners instead of an inconvenience, which we truly appreciate.

I especially want to recognize Siah in the drive thru. She is one of the most motivated, compassionate, and genuinely kind employees we’ve encountered. Every interaction we’ve had with her has been positive. She treats people with respect, has a great attitude, and genuinely seems to care about the people she interacts with. Employees like Siah deserve recognition because kindness and compassion can make a bigger difference in someone’s day than they may ever realize.

From management down to the frontline employees, this location is consistently well run. Orders are usually ready on time, communication is good, and even when they’re busy, everyone works hard to keep things moving.

The food has also consistently been fresh, hot, and made correctly. Whether it’s chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, fries, or Texas toast, we’ve always been happy with the quality.

In a time when genuine customer service can sometimes be difficult to find, this Zaxby’s continues to stand out. Great food, hardworking people, and employees who still understand the importance of treating others with kindness and respect.

“We miss Famous Anthony's in Lynchburg. So when we had to go to Roanoke Saturday morning, we visited for breakfast.
The food was just as delicious.
Our server Lisa was wonderful. Engaging and friendly. The people at the table next to us sat down (regulars) and Lisa knew their order without them saying a word. But she did check to make sure that's what they wanted! 😊

“I've been eating at Crown's Chicken for years. As an honest review I will say I do not like the chicken. As others have comnented, it has a tough texture and not a whole lot of flavor. I'm assuming it's under heat lamps for aby amount of time. However, the double cheeseburger is absolute fire. The Gyro is really good too. The fries are always hot and unsalted (though typically the drive through guy asks if I want salt + ketchup on the side. The staff is nice although I really only have interacted with the drive through operator. It's been a pleasant experience. The prices are very competitive. Id rather spend my money here than a national fast food chain.“

“Just had dinner with family after picking our Christmas tree. This is the first place that the waiter (Stephen) came and checked on us frequently, apologized at least 3 times when one of us didn’t get our meal at the same time. Drinks were filled without having to wait or be asked. He was very courteous and had a big smile while waiting on us. I would say the waiter deserves a 10+ for the wonderful experience. “Me and my mother went to the Red Robin located in Roanoke, Virginia. Our waitress named Bambi or however you spell her name. She got my mother's order wrong after she stated what she wanted twice! She hardly checked on if we needed anything else but checked on other around us. Very very late with serving us. She was off talking to some other man that was sitting not too far with us knowing we needed service. She was also seen by me drinking alcohol and sticking it behind the bar. When she walked by and she smelt like straight alcohol, can't tell what specific but it was just terrible service. I normally have amazing service going there but after today I WILL NOT be going back for a while!! PS: she did not get a tip from either me or my mother.“
