It is a grill restaurant. Table service is not available. Customers order at the counter to takeout but general seating is available. Food is good and prepared fresh. Portion sizes are good. The cost is reasonable. I recommend for quick meal.“

“This place is a true local gem. Food is of very high quality, and everything is consistently cooked to perfection. Their consistency is actually really impressive - I’ve never been disappointed by a single thing, and I’ve eaten A LOT of their food. But everything is so good, so I haven’t really made my way outside of the same few items from their menu. The difference is that the staff actually care about their customers, and take pride in their food. It’s not so common these days, and is a pleasant surprise. It’s the reason I will always eat there.“

“Love this place! Dinner is always 10/10 but service, we had Alena or elena and she was just the sweetest young lady and she knows was shes doing, and she was honest too with her recommendations! We always have a tuna and oysters! Then steak this time we shared the cowboy ribeye and added scallops which by the way is not on the menu but elena said they could do it and it was delicious!! 5 star service“

“Our server Jayla was awesome! She was very friendly. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 2 p.m. weather was gorgeous outside and the outdoor patio was well covered, but we decided to sit inside. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. Jayla asked if it was our first time at Blackwall Hitch, which it was, so she went over the local favorites. She recommended the flaming crab dip and it was delicious!!! Jayla offered us extra Naan chips which I thought was generous for an upscale restaurant. I asked if she could bring us extra with a to-go box to take the rest of the dip. We also had the mahi mahi tacos and chicken-pancetta flatbread - both were great. Jayla often checked on us. We had a lovely time and the service was great! Thank you!“

“It’s been two years since I’ve been back here and I ordered the same lovely cranberry salad with warm goat cheese on top. The difference in two years was that the goat cheese was 1/4 of the original size. It made me sad. Servers were great. Outdoor location was wonderful. Food was just so so.“

The food is consistently a step above and the bartenders are all top-notch—always friendly and delivering great drinks no matter when you stop by. “First to visit to Mount Vernon and wanted to eat dinner at the restaurant. The restaurant is very quaint. Although the structure was built over 100 years after the original Mount Vernon, according to the host, the structure retains a historical feel. Our waitress was very polite, friendly, and checked in on us frequently. We had the shrimp and grits, turkey pot pie, crab cakes dinner, and fricassee. Everything had a hearty texture to it, bold flavors, and we definitely did not leave hungry. It was a great ending to our first tour at Mount Vernon. Highly recommend combining your visit with lunch or dinner afterwards.“

Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free I guess, didn't order it but it's there. Don't know about the quality but someone in this review area seems really pissed about the quality. Guessing they got unlucky with idiotic employees more than the actual place being like that.“

“KILN is one of the most exciting meals I’ve had in a while. The chilled beets were absolutely craveable—so fresh and flavorful. The wine selection was spot-on. I loved the vibe of the space, especially being able to watch Chef in action - it added such a fun touch to the experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I can’t wait to come back….and pray those beets are still on the menu!“
