For the uninitiated, we happily partook of the offered samples. A second freezer, and with its own board, had a good selection of standard flavors. We liked the flavors we tried, from both freezers, enough so we ordered two hand-packed quarts before we left. Still challenging to keep a business open - especially one that survives on frozen treats, through the winter. They do have a good line of ice cream, certainly on par with Baskin Robins, and they want to have happy customers. We are, and expect to return.“

“The gelato I had was absolutely delicious! While it wasn't as creamy as Pitango's, I really enjoyed the variety of flavors they offered. I ordered a three-flavor cup and chose Black and White Cookie Batter, Dark Chocolate Fudge, and Dulce de Leche Chip. Each flavor was delightful! The restaurant was quite busy, which was a good sign considering its prime location near shopping stores and not far from Chinatown. There was plenty of seating available for customers to sit and savor their treats or coffee. Despite the crowd, the cashiers did an excellent job attending to everyone and even offered samples.“

I am a big fan of gelato and when I tell you this is TOP SHELF w/ a side of phenomenal customer service I mean it. “Haagen-Dazs is probably one of the most expensive ice cream places that I have been to, almost $8-$9 after tax. However, what makes them stand out from other ice cream stores is that they don’t use artificial ingredients, and their ice cream is a bit bold and dense compared to other ice cream brands. I really like their Belgian chocolate, because of the creaminess, richness of the chocolate.

I would say the service is great even though there is usually a big crowd waiting for their ice cream, especially when it gets closer to closing time. However, regarding the atmosphere, it feels a little cramped to be eating ice cream, especially with such limited seating. The staff aren’t the friendliest and gave a bit of an attitude when I asked about nuts, with no clear answer, but it panned out because the ice cream actually didn’t have nuts.

Vegetarian options: Not clear on vegan options.

Kid-friendliness: could make more profits if they started selling kids’ sizes.“

“My second visit to a Jeni's ice cream shop!! Their signature signage caught my attention while I was at happy hour.

I rarely come to this area, so I had to stop even though I already tried it before. The staff was super inviting and friendly as soon as we walked in. They let us try a couple samples. I was a little overwhelmed due to zero capacity and didn't bother to read the flavors/descriptions. I asked the employee for samples of the 2 seasonal flavors (Bay Leaf Cheesecake and Sweet Potato Marshmallow Praline). While they both tasted like pure sugar, I chose the Bay Leaf Cheesecake. I ordered the smallest size, which was the kid's scoop in a waffle cone.

Their ice cream is definitely pricey, given the area (and probably insane rent!).“

“Recently moved to Centreville and I am glad I checked this place out after a friend’s recommendation. It is a small, cozy space that is very well decorated. I love the variety of dessert options that the place had to offer and their location (SUPER CONVENIENT).

Ordering system: There was an option to order ahead on their website, but we decided to go into the store to order. A kiosk was available for us to quickly order what we had wanted in store.

Place: Parking is plenty as it is next to Hmart. But… sitting is limited.

Bingsoo: Offered in two different sizes (cup vs large). I ordered a large black sesame bingsoo that was perfect for four people. Overall, the bingsoo had just the right amount of sweetness and was very delicious.

Coffee: Once again, perfect amount of sweetness and very delicious! I would say, coffee is not too strong. Loved the fact that it was priced at a reasonable price.

Overall, I would visit again!“
