“Where do I begin?! The service was so attentive and engaging. The atmosphere felt cool and trendy. But of course the food is what I came for and they did not miss. I did the omakase experience and learned what sushi is actually supposed to be. I kept thinking each round was my favorite dish, then the next one would be even better. I was stunned, blown away, overjoyed. It was literally a perfect culinary EXPERIENCE. I was perfectly stuffed by the end of the night and had a hard time walking away from the counter.“

“After reading all the great reviews, I wanted to check this place out... and I wasn't disappointed! It's a quaint, little onigiri shop with a very friendly & welcoming atmosphere. There are so many Japanese touches everywhere for those eating inside at their limited seating & those ordering to go. The selection was simple - mostly Japanese rice balls with various types of fillings for everyone to find something you'd like. I highly recommend the spicy tuna if you can handle some spice, but two onigiri are just right to be filling for a simple lunch. I can't wait to stop by for some more rice balls the next time I'm in the area!“

“Miyabi has been my go-to sushi spot for almost ten years, and I have never had a bad experience. I’ve dined in, had delivery, and taken out.

The fish is always fresh. I legitimately crave half the menu every week. And the people are so personable and lovely. It’s a low-key environment with staff that care about the quality of their food and the comfort of guests.

I could not recommend you try this Main St. treasure more strongly! Just try a delivery order, and you’ll be happy.“

“Contrary to some recent reviews this place delivered exactly what I wanted. $25 after tax for a steak, shrimp, and chicken expressly cooked hibachi. Steak cooked medium for the best flavor, it definitely won out over the chicken. Shrimp was not rubbery in my experience. Large enough portion to have both lunch and dinner. Definitely will be going back.“

“I live Yoshi Sushi! They have always given me great service and very tasty food. I worked with sushi restaurants for about 10 years and I can say that the quality is great for the price. I always get the Tropical roll, it’s like dessert. The sushi rice is delicious, cooked just right. Nothing worse than sushi with overcooked rice. The foods that come from the kitchen are also great. Shrimp and veggie tempura, hibachi, and yaki soba are among my favorites.“

“This place used to be one of our favs! Unfortunately the best menu items have slowly been disappearing 💔. They used to have the BEST tots in town, but those are gone. We loved the karaage chicken but haven’t seen it the last few times we’ve gone. Their amazing chicken sandwich used to be a fried cutlet, but that has been replaced with some sort of minced chicken patty. Even their fries were replaced by inferior crinkle fries. Hope to see our favs return soon!“

“We tried the teriyaki chicken, beef, and shrimp. The chicken was the most flavorful; however, the other two were still delicious. We watched them cook all our food fresh and service was great. They also give you large portions. If you like teriyaki flavor and rice, you'll love this place. They also have sides and deserts, but unfortunately we didn't try any of those. We'll be back for sure.“

“Kabuto’s is my favorite restaurant! But, my last experience was very disappointing. Part of the experience is to watch the show. But because there was a couple at the other end of the table (not with us), who brought babies with them, they did absolutely nothing. No fire, no volcano, absolutely nothing. Apparently they had asked the waitress if “the cook” could be quiet. I feel in this case, either don’t bring the infants, or sit alone at a table. This was not fair to the other customers. It was our 35th anniversary and I feel like we missed out on our experience.“

“By far the best sushi I’ve ever had. I don’t know how this place isn’t 5.0 stars. Extremely fresh. Fantastic beer and miso soup as well. Very kind staff. Rolls are great but the fish deserves to be eaten as nigiri or sashimi. Fresh real wasabi as well. This place is a must if you’re in the area and a sushi connoisseur.“

“We came here on an ad in Reach magazine, and I'm so glad we did. We've been twice, two different days of the week, different times of the day. The service is stellar, the staff is so nice. The rolls are exactly the right size. But what really sells this restaurant is the environment. The music is low but present, the seating is comfortable, and the overall "vibe" feels inviting.

The food, without a doubt, is fantastic. While we haven't done hibachi, if it's as good as the sushi, I will have to try it soon.

“I ordered a quick lunch pickup, a pork banh mi. It was perfect! Fresh baked bread, tender pork in a creamy peanut sauce and topped with a ton of fresh cilantro, carrot and jalapeño. I couldn't ask for more, and it was under $6!“

“I really like this place and think it has so much potential. But I have to say the inconsistency in the food is starting to show, and it really comes down to who’s cooking on any given day. Sometimes the fried rice is perfect, and other times it’s mushy. Sometimes the chicken is perfectly seasoned, other times it’s really bland. When it’s good, it’s truly amazing and it’s one of the best hibachi to-go spots in Richmond. But these last couple of times, it’s been a letdown.

I’m leaving this review because I really want to see the place succeed and step it up a notch with more consistent training for the cooks. It’s got the potential to be a standout spot if the quality becomes more reliable. Right now, if they keep pushing out inconsistent dishes, they risk just blending into the background like any other place. I’m rooting for them to get it right!“
