“I found Yindee Thai on a rainy weekend. When I came in I was greeted and seated. The dining room is very nice and just enough. Not to big not to small. Ther is a nicely appointed bar area with plenty of seating. Very nice ambiance. I usually order dumplings and shrimp pad thai. I decided to try something different. I had the tom yum soup with chicken and dumplings. The soup is a huge serving. It stayed hot and was very flavorful. Same with the dumplings. Service was attentive without hovering too much. I will definitely come back to try other dishes. This is a hidden gem.“

“Ellie Bird has been on our list to try since they opened. Like their sister restaurant Rooster & Owl, the menu is both refined and rustic, with an emphasis on small plates great for sharing. We went for dinner and ordered the bread basket, spring green salad, Vietnamese french onion soup, salted cod rangoons, pomelo larb, braised lamb shank and chocolate cake. The pineapple buns are a carry over from Rooster & Owl that I’d happily eat with every meal. The Vietnamese french soup is aptly named, a wonderful combination of richly aromatic braised oxtail broth reminiscent of a fabulous pho with the oniony, cheesy, crouton goodness of a classic french onion. The rangoons are a perfect execution of an American Thai staple and the pomelo larb burst with flavor. The lamb shank, expertly cooked and glazed, was easily split between the two of us and sat on a bed of herbaceous tabouleh.A delay in getting us to our seats at the chefs counter resulted in several comped plates throughout the meal and we were very grateful for the above and beyond. The asparagus and pine berry salad added to our starter course was a true delight, who knew they were such a good pair!I’ll be interested to see how the restaurant continues to evolve. While Rooster & Owl remains our go-to for special occasions, we will absolutely come back to Ellie Bird with friends and family in tow and certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.“

The comfortable seating and airy space with high ceilings give us a unique experience that other restaurants don't provide. The food, drinks, and desserts are always perfect; even a simple hot fudge sundae is delicious at this restaurant. “My wife and I went for Easter brunch. Food as always along with service was top notch. I like Arti's. The restaurant gives me that when I was a child (many moons ago LOL) and my Mom would take me to a cool restaurant for dinner after church type of feeling. Again food selections were great only thing was, they discontinued Chicken and Waffles on the menu. This was sort of a let down because that was the dish we had many times for Easter Brunch. When I asked the manager he explained that upper management revamped the menus throughout the Great American restaurants after the fire. I look forward to the next time my wife and I have dinner here. I hope that maybe upper management can find it in their heart to bring back the Chicken and waffles. Thanks for the good times.“

“The meal was exquisite. The dishes were well presented, creative and delicious as well as showing upon rather generous, dare we say it, North American portions. Our server (and others passing) was/were fantastic but we did sit at the bar and not at a table. This was a choice that we consciously made because we were celebrating our 19th anniversary sans children. Intimacy. A few reviews complain about price or the lack of selections on the menu. All we can say is: post-COVID prices have gone up significantly but that is true for everything that we, as a community, consume today. It might be harder to stomach the price increases for discretionary expenses like a fancy meal. In any event, please do not expect 1980s or even 2019 prices. Secondly, yep, it is pricey, but it is worth every centime. The "limited" menu is what really good restaurants do, not to gouge you, but to spoil you with a core set of dishes that will tantalite the palate of almost every true gourmand. NUE hits the mark rather well. Finally, one kink in the armor, is how food is served today and how waitstaff interact with customers. Partly caused by the clash of generations, e.g., servers and the served may have 30 to 40 years between them, partly because due to COVID the new wave apparently did not get to learn from the OGs who did not return to the hospitality business sector, and is likely partly due to the pace of life in the DMV as practiced by folks with maybe too much money. That service process part needs to be ironed-out, but it is not just an issue at NUE, but at most, if not all, DMV fine food establishments. We, for one, will be back to NUE very soon. We just need to save up for it and we won't have to wait a year.“

“I came here because the location in Arlington closed and I truly had a taste for my go-to! I ordered food to go and had 2 drinks at the bar with an appetizer.Of course (like every location I've ever been to) the bartender was nice, attentive and communicative. The food was great and the drinks were too. They were out of bitters so I squeezed some lemon and lime and the drink was fine.My only complaint is that after spending a good buck and tipping 25% I got home to find no shrimp in my Mahi Mahi and Shrimp. Very disappointing but I should've checked the bag before leaving so I take responsibility. Bonefish is usually on it though, so it was still a little irritating.Overall, another win for Bonefish. I love how consistent their vibe is no matter which one I go to!“

“Went for the first time yesterday. Food was so good! I had the Dominator. The crab cakes was to die for. Customer Service was awesome and the inside was so clean. Only suggestion I make is signage on outside. You are known for your bright yellow sign but that isn’t what’s on your building. So it was alittle hard to find. I knew you was open from following you on social media and I knew the area because I use to live there but my parents who live walking distance and others wasn’t aware of you. I think having more signage and your bright yellow signs so people traveling on Richmond highways know you there will give you the business you deserve.“

However, we were pleasantly surprised by the great taste of the food and the generous portions. The service was also good, and the place was clean and well-maintained.“

“Words cannot express how happy we are that we discovered this hidden gem when we were simply looking on impulse for an Indian restaurant after a long day. The name seemed familiar from one we had eaten at in Falls Church that was a favorite of ours. And we were pleasantly surprised that they are owned by the same people. The staff here were just as courteous, helpful and efficient making sure our drinks stay full, the plates were cleared away and coming to check on how everything was. The whole experience from the presentation of the food, the portions, the quality of the ingredients, how well it was seasoned and cooked and the pricing for what you get which is a lot was right on mark in every way. We could taste the effort and love that goes into their cooking and how much they take pride in what they do. I think the food is just a bit better seasoned than their other location too. Everything tasted amazing and had our taste buds singing. We could not have asked for a better experience both times we were there for lunch and dinner and we feel most welcomed when we are there. They are wonderful proof that good food traverses boundaries and cultures amd brings people together as also witnessed by the other happy diners there of various ethnicities. Definitely on our list of places to go to and another local business we plan to support very often.Vegetarian options: I personally enjoyed the vegetable pakora, plain saag and chana masala. The food is of good, but not great, quality. No connoisseurs here. Despite finding a sign at the entryway they they were short-staffed, our server was prompt, polite, and helpful. Unfortunately the appetizer we ordered , Crispy Fried Calamari, arrived late, barely warm, and soggy. We complained and the server gracefully removed it both from our presence and the bill. Everything else was delicious. Prices are reasonable ($50 - 70 for 2 without alcoholic drinks)“

I asked them to separate the lobster from the bread for my walk home and they happily obliged. “At least based on my lunch experience, I'm surprised WJ's Tavern is rated so lowly. I loved the salmon wrap...and they even asked how we wanted our salmon done (and mine was perfect medium-rare which is my usual test of the kitchen's attention to detail). It's a great wrap with wasabi slaw poised against the strong salmon flavor with other delicious bits thrown in...but lunch also includes a wide choice of excellent sides (mine was the fine side salad and my companion's elote corn was great, too, served on two short corn cobs). Service was friendly, if a tad slow (it was an off-hour lunch) and the tavern is a cozy place to hang out. There's a great central TV bar with some hunky slinging drinks and working hard. The sour cherry pie and ice cream for dessert was also delicious. Cheap, no; but I'd go back for that salmon wrap ASAP.“
