“Ubuntu Meat Bar restaurant is a nice place serving African style food in a small strip mall. It is quite small inside for dining, but we were the only ones sitting in the restaurant and had it all to ourselves. Walking in, the restaurant is decorated well and we were promptly greeted by the server/bartender/cook. You have to look up the restaurant menu on your phone to order, which my family found a little odd, but the sole proprietor was helpful when you rang a bell on the counter to get his attention from the small kitchen; he was always in the kitchen cooking for Uber and take out orders which seemed to be a big part of their business. The menu was quite diverse with dishes we had never seen before. He put bottles of cold water on our table so we could fill our glasses. He also brought us our drinks that we had ordered then went back to the hidden kitchen to cook. It was very quiet inside so we had no problem talking with each other over the two tables we had pushed together as we were a group of five people. It took him a while to start bringing out our appetizers, sides and mains in a staggered fashion as he was the only cook. We were a little disappointed our mains didn't come out at the same time, but we started eating and sharing food anyway. The taste of the food was quite delicious with some unusual flavors of spices we had never had before. We all thought the portion sizes were smaller than what we thought they would be for the high prices and what the pictures on the menu looked like. Overall, we did have a tasty experience with some good conversation and left happy. If you've never had African food, go ahead and give this restaurant a try at least one time.“

If you are on a bit of a budget and really hungry, grab the loaded baked potatoe, someone i was with ordered it and was amazed at the portion, couldnt even finish it. “I flew all the way from Hawaii to try Jeff's BBQ Brisket sandwiches. I ordered 2 sandwiches, and the Brisket baked beans.Mr. Jeff was kind enough to throw in a side of slow smoked pork belly. I have to say that the Brisket sandwiches were super soft, moist with a bountiful amount flavor and meat on a amazing soft sweet bread bun. This sandwich will take you to another world. Now to the beans. I must say opening the lid was an aroma that soothes the soul. Smokey and sweet. The beans had a good amount of Brisket cubes and a amazing smokey flavor. The pork belly had a beautiful pepper crust and perfect tenderness. I was absolutely amazed by the food Mr. Jeff cooks. “It was my first time trying grilled intestines like this, and I was honestly a little worried it might have a strong smell, but they cleaned and prepared it really well. When the edges get slightly crispy and charred, it smells amazing, while the inside still stays soft and chewy. It tastes really good with grilled garlic.

The mushrooms were also really good after soaking up all the meat juices from the grill. The yukhoe was easier to eat than I expected too — once mixed with the egg yolk, the texture became really smooth and rich without feeling too heavy.

The atmosphere of the restaurant also felt really cozy, kind of like those small Korean restaurants in K-dramas. The lighting was nice and it wasn’t too loud, so it was a good place to slowly eat and chat with friends at night.“

For me, everything tasted good. I enjoyed the side dish bar and the sauce bar. I mainly ordered think pork and pork, while my husband had beef brisket and bulgogi*. We enjoyed the meal very much and will most likely go back ?
Atmosphere:
Clean, modern, cool, and kpop music ? I grew up listening to kpop (I'm 34 now, been listening since I was 13), so it was my kind of vibe.

I got a big dinner with wonton soup and had sweet and sour crispy pork and orange chicken also an eggroll with pork fried rice as well... for under 20 bucks and tasted amazing... so glad we stopped in lake Steven's on our way back to skagit county!“

“OMG! The ribs were perfect! Came with sauce (I got the sweet), two sides (I got the fried onion tangles and baked potato casserole - both great!) and a delicious roll. I also ordered a slice of pecan pie which I enjoyed. I will definitely order from them again!!“
