The Formosa Roll was savory and spicy, the shrimp were perfectly cooked for the tacos and the steak came with potato spirals that I didn’t know I needed in my life, but absolutely do! “They have a small selection of food. The food was pretty good but you're not coming here for that. The stars are the atmosphere and the drinks. It is dark with lots of flickering lantern light. Everything is wood and there are all kinds of pirate kitsch everywhere but it works. It feels like you're an extra in Pirates of the Caribbean. They have a few beers and wines, but come prepared to drink some rum! The drink list is extensive with punches, groggs, classic rum drinks, and many new inventions. They are rated from 2-5 skulls. Do not drink a 5 skull drink and expect to escape unscathed. You definitely need a DD or an Uber after one of those! It will put hair on your chest, as my dad used to say. Strong but delicious. We tried each other's drinks and everything was good. Definitely a fun spot for a night out!“

Succulent pork loin that melted in my mouth followed. My date temporarily collapsed in ecstasy over the seasonal crab cakes (he rated them 5/5… quite the feat, given his snobbish standards). Desserts were perfection and enough to share. And the views! Impress your out of town friends or just go because, well, you probably deserve some edible luxury. “Last night we celebrated Bruce's (Mei Ling) graduation from NYU at the Lobster Shop Tacoma with his parents from China. The staff went over the top with service! From the wine sommelier, to the waiter's patience and respectful help with foreign visitors, and manager's kind visit to welcome the family, I couldn't be more impressed. I tried to sneak in a special desert and was told the manager had already taken care of it on the house. Thank you all! What you didn't know is Bruce's mother is an influencer with over a million followers. She took a lot of videos to share.“

Yes, the music was a bit loud but it was manageable and did not prevent discussion at the table. Our waitress Clarita and bus-person David provided excellent recommendations and great service.
