“I recently moved my daughter up to Oak Harbor/Whidbey Island WA from Nevada, and we decided to stop by Jumbo Burrito... Let me tell you, this place is phenomenal! The cleanliness is impressive, and the owners are incredibly friendly and down-to-earth...They engaged in genuine conversations with us, reminiscent of the interactions we have on our food truck...I ordered the torta, which was absolutely delicious—though I was too eager to dive in to snap any pictures (because I'm fat)! So if you are on the island, come get you some Jumbo Burrito!I If only it were closer to me! Thanks from the Denver people!”

“Part of my job is to order catering for sales events. I usually use a catering website to place these orders remotely. This particular site unfortunately could not provide any restaurants that would deliver to necessary location. I ended up finding Noe Jose Cafe and contacted them directly in hopes they would be able to assist and so glad that I did! I spoke with The Jose himself and he was so very helpful! He was able to work with me on all the logistics, needed supplies and the delivery! I received calls and texts for any updates on my order, which was so appreciated. I was pleasantly surprised by how much support they were willing to offer and couldn't thank them enough! Everyone really enjoyed the food and everything went so well! Thank you Jose and team!!!”

“Mai Thai is our go-to for Thai food. We chose it over Naung Mai in Oak Harbor initially because of the price difference, but the portions are bigger and there's more of your chosen meat/protein in the soups and entrees. That said- be aware you have to LIKE SPICE. Recently it has been difficult to get "spice 1", which should just be a hint. If you say "no spice", it's OK, but not Thai, right? But if there's a difference between 1 and 4, I can't tell. Our Pho soup tonight (spice 1) was burning our throats. The pad thai was OK at spice 1, but still quite a bit spicier than I would assume 1 would be. This is a new development for this restaurant, so it is probably a new chef. Just BE AWARE. Anyway, most people complain the food in the PNW is too bland, so you won't have that problem, at least! And as far as ordering, we use the online app. Add five mins to the time it says your pick up is ready. It is never ready. Door Dashers use this place constantly, and they clog the order process. There is indoor dining, but we have never used it, thanks to Covid protocols. Also- a final word on parking. The parking lot has been sectioned off from looping through the driver's ed school next door. Therefore the lot is super tough to turn and get out. You are better off parking along the strip by the salon to the left of the restaurant and walking up. Please be careful in this area of town at night.”

“Fantastic avocado scramble for me. The eggs were scrambled perfectly and there was a lot of avocado chunks in it ... way more than I expected! Hubby ordered the taco omelet. Eggs on that dish were a bit overcooked. Not fond of eggs that are have a lot of brown on them. Service was great. Would recommend.”

“I just had my staff Christmas party last night. I catered from BBQ Joint. Chicken, ribs, brisket, pulled pork, beans, Mac & cheese and sweet tea. —all fresh, flavorful and abundant! Easy to give five stars!!!”

“Whidbey coffee is great, the only place to get your coffee within a 50 mile radius of oak harbor.

However, recently when I went to whidbey coffee they had a trivia question, in which if you get the answer right, you would then get 50 cents off your drink.

The question was, “who was the first person to host SNL?”

A couple weeks before this I just watched a movie about the beginnings of Saturday Night Live, and knew the answer was George Carlin.

Out of the 3 possible answers they had listed, which included Steve Martin (who has hosted SNL 16 times), none of the possible answers were George Carlin.

I then said, well it’s not Steve Martin, which the barista said, are you sure, and I said yes.

Short story long, they had the right answer as Steve Martin, I said it wasn’t the right answer, they said look it up, I did, showed them it was George Carlin, and then they said well that’s the answer we got from the boss who made the question, and I did not get my 50 cents off.

I don’t care about 50 cents because it doesn’t matter, however, please, if you make a trivia question and then have a prize or reward for getting it right, make sure to have the right answer as an option. And also, if someone shows you that the answer you have is wrong, just take the 50 cents off and move on.

“If you are in, near or going to Oak Harbor, WA and are a lover or even just a liker of bbq, Orlando’s Southern BBQ is very much worth the stop! These folks know how to BBQ ! First of all, they are so friendly and welcoming you can just feel the southern hospitality and how proud they are to serve their fabulous food! We each had the brisket and it was the very best we have EVER had! It literally melted in our mouths. The baked beans with their slight kick were A-mazing and the coleslaw was so incredibly fresh and moist. This place is quite large and they have a full bar with entertainment on the weekends. We give Orlando’s Southern BBQ in Oak Harbor WA a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 rating hands down!!”

“Still the "Best in the West" coffee: Jet Java Coffee Company! The Wells sisters are clearly the top baristas in the country. We are currently searching east of the Mississippi for the "Beast of the East Baristas." We may have found them in Westerly, Rhode Island. So far they have a strong hold on the East. We'll see how their repeatability is. Jet Jet Java Coffee Company cappuccino by the Wells Sisters, still reigns supreme to us! Happy Thanksgiving”

“It is not often that I go out of my way to write a google review or even think to write one- but I couldn't help but get over the outstanding customer service this team of baristas collectively provided every day I came in for the week I visited the area. A few times I was even served at my table and each time with the kindest smile or brief conversation. They go the extra mile for you and it shows.

P.S. Don't hesitate to try their banana chocolate chip loaf warmed or the garlic parmesan bagel toasted with cream cheese. YUM.”

“I moved to Oak Harbor recently and was so worried I wouldn’t know where to satisfy my coffee/tea addiction. Finally found my #1 place and I’m so happy I did because they are amazing ☺️ I am in love with their matchas with cold foams, iced caramel lattes, hemp lattes, cake pops, breakfast, you name it. Not a lot of places have hemp milk which I’m in love with, so the first time I tried my drink, I knew I was done coffee hunting. Seriously they know how to make their drinks delicious EVERY single time. I also love the sweet girls who make my drinks and love on my puppy when I bring him. Plus the loyalty program! Also, their Facebook page is so cute and I look forward to their posts daily!!!!”

“We used to come here in the past so we stopped by for breakfast recently. I'm not sure why but everything got very expensive. I'm sorry but spending $20 for an omelet is ridiculous. Everything cost significantly more than the last time we were in. So much so is that my wife and I shared an omlet and ordered nothing else.

You need to reevaluate you prices. Especially for breakfast. Most things are at least 40% higher. Those prices for breakfast are crazy.”

“I have to give a huge shout-out to the incredible team at the Wendy's in Oak Harbor. I'm a regular, coming here at least twice a week for my go-to order: two honey butter chicken biscuits and a large Mello Yello.

What really sets this place apart is the amazing service. The workers are so attentive that they often know my order as soon as I drive up to the speaker, and many times, they have it ready before I even get a chance to ask. It feels like I'm part of the family!

The staff is always so friendly, and even though I have a tendency to chitchat and overshare a bit at the drive-thru, they are always incredibly efficient and get my food to me right away. Their ability to balance genuine warmth with speedy service is what keeps me coming back. This team consistently goes above and beyond, and they deserve all the praise.”
