“This place had an excellent variety of breads. I did an online pre-order for a rye sourdough loaf. It was larger than I expected, so good value there. The bread was very hearty, not shy on the sourdough, had crisp edges but not too hard, soft inside.. pretty close to perfect! Freshness didn't seem to dwindle much until day 4 stored at room temp, so you can probably get a week out of it without freezing. At a glance, several other non-bread items in the pastry case looked good, with both sweet and savory options. I think they serve sandwiches/pizza, too. I'm intrigued enough to try some more things the next time I'm around, and I'll definitely order another loaf.“

“Although finding parking is a bit of a challenge, this place did not disappoint. I chose a variety of items to try, the regular croissant, the chocolate hazelnut croissant, the pan au chocolat, and the Kouign amann. Each and everyone of them was amazing. Perfectly flaky and soft all at the same time, the flavors out of this world.“

“I am from Europe and both me and my wife consider Grand Pere Bakery the best French pastry bakery we've seen in Seattle so far. In particular, the pastries are just perfect - airy/fluffy and not over-buttered. In particular, just try to the plain / "butter" croissant - it is just right, not greasy, perfectly baked. Most other pastry shops around here put way too much fat in their pastries so they are too greasy and heavy. Their Danish pastries are great too. “Customer service is great. The owner was serving us and she's as so nice! She told us how the shop opened in June during the pandemic. There isn't seating inside but just across the street is a cute open public seating area. We got the chocolate chunk salted cookie, the vegan triple chocolate cupcake, mocha, and chia with oat milk. I recommend all of it! The vegans triple chocolate cupcake was perfect, moist and light.“

I RAN to this little shop to grab obe for my husband as it was his birthday and his all time favorite pie is strawberry rhubarb! every year instead of a cake i bake him this delicious pie. so when I heard about this cookie and how good it was, I was running. when I arrived there was only 1 left, and this lovely couple in front of me, who picked it out for themselves, heard my gasp, and asked if I wanted it! I happily paid for a scrumptious looking key lime cookie for them and got my gift for my husband. it was DELICIOUS!!!! The cinnamon sugar outside with a great crumble to chewy consistency with the perfect strawberry rhubarb stuffing was out of this world good! such a cute little spot right by the old rainier building in seattle. highly recommend to all my friends next time they are in the area!
