“This place is awesome. The place has a "horror" theme. The music they play is goth-adjacent.The staff is very... uh... distinct. In all the right ways.Friendly, but still matching the tone of the place. They have pool and pinball machines. It impossible to be bored there.I am systematically working through their tasty signature drinks and have yet to be disappointed. The food is Cuba-adjescent and works strangely well with the vide of the place.Even if it isn't you type of crowd, you'll enjoy this place.A must-do.“
“Okay, so, everything at this place is not great. But once you figure out what you like to order here, it cannot be beat. For starters, this may be the only taco truck that actually has ground beef instead of shredded or strips, etc. Secondly, they have the best taco salad I have every had in my life. The shell is to die for. I think they make them fresh with each order, and there is absolutely no comparison for any other salad bowl shell anywhere. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when those salad bowl shells are no longer available to me. I think this place has the #1 best guacamole ever, buy you have to like onions. My husband can't eat it. I love their refried beans, too. Literally, this is the best taco truck. The guys who own and operate it are pretty great, too. I cannot wait until they let us know their new location. My family and I are obsessed.“
“Always on point and delicious. What I recommend is the MALIBU PLATE. Once you try that it's gonna make you want to go back for more. I love how this place gives you 4 different salsas, grilled onions, fried peppers, and some potato wedges. It compliments everything well. Definitely go give them a try...it's my GO TO Taco Truck.“
“I was pleasantly surprised by this place, a literally shining light in the dark in one of the shadier parts of the greater Tacoma area. Food was fresh and plentiful, a much better value than established chain restaurants. I've tried nearly every burrito within a 100 mile radius and I highly recommend giving this small local business a chance.“
“I got a breakfast burrito it was awesome my only complaint was that it took a while to get it but I wasn't mad because the lady was taking orders and cooking by herself and it still came out great. Manager needs to hire more help they have good food just the service is a bit slow.“
“FINALLY!! I finally found GOOD Mexican food in WA!! Homemade tortillas, beans are done and taste PROPER, good service etc etc. Don't bother with all the other places people in WA rave about...THIS IS LEGIT!! I grew up in San Diego across from a Mexican family, and this is the real deal here! Finally found a go to!!“
“Great tacos and fantastic service! Though it was busy our server didn't seem rushed or annoyed and seemed to be having a good time with the tunes that were played in the restaurant. Can't wait to come back! The sweet potato taco was amazing with a little spice.“
“Best tacos I've had in Tacoma. Al pastor and SoCal were both delicious. Highly recommend. Green salsa is also on point.Parking: Sometimes finding parking up top by the market can be tough but if you go at the right time no issues.Kid-friendliness: They were playing Phineas and Ferb on the TV.“
“Buried inside a nondescript strip mall, this is an authentic gem for real Oaxacan food. Huge variety, all carefully prepared by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Oh, please order the Tepache drink: freshly made and super-delicious.Only downside: portions are HUGE. I would have liked to try multiple, smaller platesKid-friendliness: Huge food court with plenty of large tables.“
“The food was absolutely amazing! The serving sizes are generous and the food was seasoned really well. I ordered the tacos and the meat was very tender and saucy and the toppings were fresh. My significant other ordered the tostadas and they were packed high with toppings. The only downsides are that the location is cash only and that food runs out early (so definitely try to get there early! I got there at 7:30 and the location was out of rice and beans)“
“The food was really good, and two of the three employees we were dealing with were super nice. There was one lady, a heavyset gal, who told us to go wait outside while we were still looking around and could have possibly been shopping for something else to purchase. Instead, we felt kicked out, and left the restaurant, only to be told to go back inside to get things like napkins, forks, and any sauces needed. We will go back, but whether or not we purchase anything will be entirely dependent on whether or not this employee is working. If she is, then we’ll take our business elsewhere.“
“I’m from So Cal - LA county to be specific, and this tastes like home! The Frescas are delicious! The Asada fries tastes like back home, and the Cali burrito taste like “Cali Burrito” back home! It’s been so hard to find LA style burritos and tacos around here! Most definitely coming again!“
“The spicy shrimp was absolute ?. It came with so many extra goodies on the side to mix in. Guacamole, sour cream, carrots, bell pepper, onion, jalapeños, and more. There was a friendly atmosphere with the cook having his daughter with him. We live nearby and we will be back.“
“Went for my husband’s birthday. We had a really good time, the food was delicious. I got the shrimp cocktail and shared the Pacifico snack. Will def return. They only have a few menus in English but that wasn’t a problem. The live music was nice and their drinks were also very good. A little pricey but nice for a date night!!“
“The enchiladas Verde with Pollo(chicken)was delicious. It comes with a generous portion of rice and bean. I had placed my order to go. Also I was shocked to see the patio had been removed and the eating area is now in the parking lot, covered of course. The total was 16.88 with tax. When I added the Pollo was. 75cents.Verde was 14.00.togo-15cents. Service fee 40 cents. Plus the 1.58 tax. So not bad I guess from a food truck. ?“
“I love Balcon! It’s my favorite quick bite spot in the neighborhood. I especially love the bean and cheese pupusa - I usually get two with extra slaw. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu tho - so happy this little local business opened up!“
