“Cactus was an amazing surprise! I come from Texas where the TexMex is abundant and I didn’t expect to find some familiar flavors up here in Washington! The spicy mango michelada was refreshing and the birria tacos and fajitas were great! Whenever I come back to visit, I’ll be sure to stop by Cactus!“
“Look no further, this is the truck you have been searching for. Deep flavor, hint of smoke, very balanced spices and seasonings. Even the sauces that come with the food are amazing. Definitely saving whatever sauce is left to drizzle on later!“
“We’re from Arizona and needed some good tacos. Took a chance on this truck, and it is legit! Our family of 4 was totally full with one pollo plate and 2 taco plates (10 street tacos total). Good food, very friendly service—give them a try!“
“I have to start this review about our server, Shelby, who went wayyyy above and beyond. I have food allergies and she was back and forth to the kitchen a million times helping me find something safe to eat.She comped part of our meal because of the kitchen.Service was fast, and over the top wonderful. The food was just OK. My husband said his tacos were good, but mine was meh. Something was intolerably hot, and the proportions of ingredients in the taco salad were wierd. I took a few bites, took it home and tossed it. The nachos were OK. Really overcooked and the toppings came on the side. We wouldn't go again, because it's pricey and the food wasn't that great, but the service was exceptional. Thank you Shelby!“
“Great food. I was challenged to describe authentic vs traditional. While this is fusion, I would not describe the food here as traditional. And that is exactly why it is really good! The chef takes care to make sure you're getting a dish they themselves would eat. You can taste it. The lumpia is probably the most consistent taste and bite I've had in lumpia probably ever. Is it traditional, not from what I've tasted, but this lumpia eats like a meal on its own. It's got a vinegar dip for it that compliments really well. I would go for just lumpia alone. The mole sauce is not not traditional, but it's a great blend of sweetness with an earthy flavor that really is great. Meat was tender in all dishes. The horchata was made in house which made for a nice touch. The fusion on Mexican style rice that had peas, corn and carrots. I'm sure the breakfast will be good and the hard alcohol drinks were decent. I would say this is a great spot to try. If they just put a giant picture of their art on the outside front of the building, this place would not probably be much of a secret for long. Side note, yes, service was slow, and the radio was choppy from the Wi-Fi connect . The layout of the place left a lot to be desired. Waitress was amazing. Very personal and enjoys the beers served and food here. Give her a raise.“
“Carne asada burrito, one of the best I've had, grown up n lived in east WA most my life where everyone thinks the Mexican food is superior to the west side, this place proves that's not the case, no chewy peices of asada in the whole burrito, tender n pretty large peices of asada with a touch of pink in the center, I was really impressed.“
“This is place is the real deal. If I had a death row meal, I would choose Marco’s California Burrito. The margaritas are the best I’ve ever had. Eating at this restaurant will improve my mood for the whole week. This may be the best place ever.“
“I got a breakfast burrito it was awesome my only complaint was that it took a while to get it but I wasn't mad because the lady was taking orders and cooking by herself and it still came out great. Manager needs to hire more help they have good food just the service is a bit slow.“
“Very authentic feel here and absolutely amazing value for money. The beans and rice were absolutely perfect and the fish taco/birria some of the best we have had in US. Service is also fast and excellent. They also have a salsa stand with a wide variety of toppings which comes in handy. Also generally large portion sizes so order accordingly!“
“My husband and I absolutely love this place. I always get the daily special. But we really like the breakfast burritos. The fresh Rojo salsa, is the best! On everything! Definitely recommend. ??Kid-friendliness: Great sticker and tattoo machines.“
“WOW!!! All I have to say is my boyfriend is Puerto Rican and he said the rice reminds him of how his grandma's used to taste. Their tacos are literally the BEST I have probably ever had in my life. Everything us SO flavorful and so fair priced! I've also had the wet burrito and had lunch for the next day...so good!!! 20/10!“
“The food is delicious! Not only that it's filling like they give you enough to actually feel like you've eaten. A nice setting clean environment. I recommend to anyone who loves Mexican food!Parking: There is plenty of parking sometimes it gets kind of hard to find it especially around rush hours“
“My best friend's wife recommended this restaurant to me. I was totally surprised by the size and selection of the menu. I decided to order the Burrito Tonala. It should've been called Burrito Grande. Half of it went home with me.The other three guests ordered Tilapia, enchiladas, and steak fajitas. .No complaints. The service was quick and accurate. I'll be back.Parking: Parking is not an issue.“
“Excellent food, with very rich flavor throughout. We were surprised by the fact that the meat was cooked on charcoal. We had not had to visit one that would provide that service. Highly recommended, really, very good menu, attention and again, excellent food.“
“Had an awesome lunch here while my daughter was playing in her volleyball tournament nearby. We ordered three different kinds of tacos (leia, pork, and chorizo) - not only were they all super delish, but the fresh house made tortillas and the extra charred veggies on the side made for an outstanding lunch. They also threw in two tamales for us to try just because. There's not a great seating area especially on a rainy day, but they packed everything up and it was easy to transport. Friendly and delicious, we will definitely head back here next time we're in the area!“
“Uber eats MADE MY NIGHT! Pozole and Burrito plate. Veggies were fresh, Tortillas grilled before we ate them, salsa is SPICY with a lovely roasted flavor. Any place that sells cheek meat and goat meat has my vote. Best order out meal I've had in a while. Photos look average but taste is delicious. Beans and rice? Finger picking. Will order again.“
“Best consome in Tacoma and best barbacoa maybe anywhere. I was blown away by the quality, very authentic. That also means the habanero salsa is not playing games.Parking: Big parking lot with access from 3 roads.Kid-friendliness: High chairs and shareable portions for the littles.“
“Handmade tortillas on the spot.Food is good, it gives me like a fast food Mexican restaurant, parking can be difficult, especially during lunch hours. They have a condiment bar with salsas and toppings to choose from, I recommend the pickled carrots.Kid-friendliness: Big and spacious dining area.“
“I ordered the Super Chicken Burrito that was stuffed full of chicken, rice, and beans. It also came with sour cream and guacamole. I loved it, but thought I would only eat half as it's almost too much for one meal. However, so so good I could not put it down until I finished! Stephen got the Regular Burrito with carnitas. He felt it was okay but said the pork was too dry. Probably seemed that way since he chose not to have salsa. It also was heavy on the whole beans so that was another factor for him. He prefers refried beans, but didn't see that as an option for mobile orders. I would think if you ate there you could get these two things the way you wanted. I will definitely be back and maybe eat in next time to try something else on the menu. I only gave 4-stars for service because the staff was clearly overwhelmed at dinner with a long wait at the counter. They really need to hire an extra person for the front end. Especially with having a drive thru and counter so busy.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking spot about 10 'from the front entrance and with a flat surface. Plenty of room to navigate in the restaurant.“
“First, I love that this place is quiet enough to have a conversation on a Friday night without shouting. The decor is also pretty chill.Second, the service was fast.Third, I love tamales, but they can sometimes be rather dry. I was pleasantly surprised by how juicy(for lack of a better word) my tamal was. The rice and salsa verde were also quite tasty.“
“One of the foodies that I follow recommend this place for their Carne Asada Potato. It looked good, so that's specifically what I went there for, and I enjoyed it. My wife got tacos and loved that as well, but then she had a bite of my potato and wished she had gotten that as well. My only complaint was the seats being slightly uncomfortable, it felt like the seat we sat at was about to collapse.“
“The food was absolutely amazing! The serving sizes are generous and the food was seasoned really well. I ordered the tacos and the meat was very tender and saucy and the toppings were fresh. My significant other ordered the tostadas and they were packed high with toppings. The only downsides are that the location is cash only and that food runs out early (so definitely try to get there early! I got there at 7:30 and the location was out of rice and beans)“
“This is a sexy Mexican restaurant. The interior design is beautiful and thoughtfully planned. The carnitas and beef tacos were delicious. Tasty Margaritas and cold beer. There is a outdoor seating area and I cant wait till the weather warms up to sit outside and dine. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food.“
“I'd worked a little overtime at the hospital, and didn't want to cook. Hubby wanted Gyros and I wanted Mexican. Adela's had birria tacos on the menu, so I was down with that! Also got two pork tamales, and a Mango margarita. Thought I'd have leftovers. NOT! I ate both dishes, minus the garnishes and a bite or two for my hubby. The birria tacos were fantastic! The consomme really put that dish over the top. Thank you Adela's for a lovely dinner and drink for this tired RN!!“
“I don't know if anyone would consider it authentic Mexican food, but it certainly is what I expect when I go out to eat Mexican food. We have been dining there a lot lately, and have had consistently good food and good service. The portions are very large. My wife and I often split the Trio Fajitas, and we get plenty of food and we both really enjoy it. They always keep us going with chips and salsa. The salsa is not that great, but that would be my only complaint. We recently ate at Cactus in Proctor, and felt like our food and service is so much better and much cheaper at El Toro. The portions are much larger and the food is much closer to what I expect when eating at a Mexican restaurant. The experience at Cactus certainly made us appreciate El Toro much more.Well done, El Toro! We look forward to dining there again soon!Vegetarian options: Not sure how many options there are for vegetarians, but my son gets their Cheese Enchiladas and rice and beans and loves it. Huge portion.“
“I had heard of this place from a friend and decided I should test it out. From the SECOND that you walk in, you are transported into somewhere else entirely! It was truly an experience, the interior was decorated almost like a colonial setting(?) It was not what I was expecting in the best way possible! We were immediately greeted and seated by an employee, ordered, waited around 30 minutes and were SHOCKED by the food portions! I knew that the food was costly, and unknowingly ordered a lot, but I loved every bite, it is definitely worth the price. I don’t know what I was expecting but this certainly surprised me in a wonderful way!I would recommend going here for a nice outing however, be warned it is a little pricey, you have to pay 20% (if I remember correctly) if you have a party of 5 or more, otherwise, truly great!Kid-friendliness: Very accessible! High chairs etc.“
“Very crowded which sucks for the people waiting ?, but also the parking is very limited and dangerous. Not to mention for how expensive the food is it isn't all that great. The horchata drink and all the other beverage options are amazing, and on another hand very well made rice water ?. Wait times can belong depending what time of day you go. Overall, its not that bad of a spot to eat out but I wouldn't go there regularly unless it was just for their drink options.Parking: Their may be if I am remembering correctly, roughly 8-12 parking spots available and they're very tightly packed within each other.Kid-friendliness: Adults tend to be drunk or smoking ? or weed, so keep your kids close but other than that its fair to say its just like another Mexican Restaurant ?.Wheelchair accessibility: Its fairly wheelchair accessible other than the doors not being able to be push-pressed for automatic door entry.“
“This is a really tiny Mexican restaurant inside a mini mart. Cash only. It is also kinda pricey. $15-$20 dishes. I took out $40 at the ATM & it was just enough to cover 2 entrees & a beer. The food was incredible tho. Quite good. I would totally go back. Just gotta have more cash next time.“
“Amazing to have such a great taco truck in the neighborhood. If you’re hoping to try some authentic Mexican dishes that you can’t find in the typical restaurants, this is your place. I’d highly suggest the 3 big quesabirria with consomé, chunks of tender beef stew in cheesy tacos dipped into flavorful beef broth. Mmmm so good. If you haven’t had tacos with tongue or tripe, you better try it here. The tongue is tender and tripe is crispy, almost like chicharron. Enchiladas in mole sauce, pollo a la crema, fajitas were all spot on. A bit of caution about the dishes with a la diabla sauce, they weren’t kidding when they said the devil is in the sauce. It had a slow burn on the tongue and mouth that built up and interrupted my meal 5 times. Fun for the adventurous eat or for a spice challenge at a party, not for the faint of heart. Still have many more things to try, alambres, birria tortas, pupusas, different soups, etc.The people that own the taco truck are also very nice. The lady allowed me to practice my poor Duolingo style Spanish even though she easily could’ve handled the conversation in English in half the time.Lastly, don’t miss out on the salsas around the back side of the taco truck.“
“This place is hard to find and the GPS takes you to the back side with no access. You have to go on the Holiday Inn gate to get to it.I got the carna asada plate and it was $25, which was pretty steep, but it was a lot of food. It also came with guacamole and they give you a good sized scoop. They give 4 small tortillas as well. The only things I was disappointed with were:1. They put the dressing on the salad and it was not good dressing (bottled ranch?). I would have preferred it on the side so I could have taken the salad home and added my own dressing.2. They do not have any mild salsa.3. No tortilla chips“
“Awesome customer service, great quality food. After my payment wasn't working (technical issues) they made it right, my daughter & I love Taco Time and we appreciate the kind service! We have been & will be loyal customers for many years and years to come :)“
“This is the best Mexican food I’ve had in Tacoma hands down. Really good beans and rice, and the ground beef enchiladas (which they call steak) are delicious. They do take Apple Pay at the window, and they charge 75 cents per card / Apple Pay usage.“
“We have been here a few times, but as of late it seems like they are taking less care of making sure they’re seating areas clean. Chairs seem to be sticky when you pull them out on the backside. The food is really good, but I’d say they just need to work on “
“While out cruising Commensment Bay on our boat with friends, they suggested with try out Indita Mia new location on Dock Street. We were NOT dissappointed. The food, service and atmosphere were amazing. We would highly recommend trying Indita Mia out.“
