“I'm at the hotel across the street. I was originally going to walk over to the mall area and the Olive Garden, but I saw the sign for teriyaki and thought it would be good to support a small business.

I walked in through the mini mart. The man behind the counter asked if I was looking for teriyaki after I looked a little lost. He pointed me to the other side of the shop and met me over there.

I wish I'd thought to ask his name. He was very nice and personable. I told him I'd be in town for a couple days and was looking for a good spot. I asked what's good on the menu. He pointed out a few things, but I settled on the spicy orange chicken.

When I checked out, I thought it might be a tad pricey, but I also recognize the importance of helping a small business. While I waited for my order, I went back to the mini mart side and got a ginger ale and some gum. The same gentleman rang me up there.

Then, back next door, I looked at my phone for a minute or two, and he came back to thank me for my patience. While thoughtful, I was not put out at all, I had only placed the order a few minutes before, and it really didn't seem like much of a wait.

My food came out in short order, he bagged it up and put all the things I'd need (utensils, napkins, soy sauce) inside before I asked. He left me with a smile, and I walked across the street to my hotel to eat.

Bringing it up to my room, I saw that it was a lot of food. Honestly, I SHOULD have only eaten half and saved the rest for the next day. But I didn't.

The orange chicken was perfect. Just delicious. The rice was just right. Honestly, I can't think of a thing that would make it better.

“Just ate some of the best Thai food I have ever had. My wife had delicious Panang Curry and I had Pad Thai, but challenged the kitchen to make it as spicy as they can. It was so delicious and super spicy. Chan waited on us and was amazing. Super friendly and definitely will be back because of the food and the service.“

From the moment we stepped in, the friendly staff greeted us warmly and quickly showed us to our table. “If you don’t eat at Sap Sap, I don’t know what you’re doing with your life. I would live in their kitchen if it was legal. This place has the stamp of approval from my Thai mother from the Isan region. When she visits, we have to bring her straight here.

Now, what do I recommend on the menu? Well, I recommend everything. I’ve eaten it all. One time, we came three times in one week. My favorite dish changes once a month. Right now, it’s the Lao sausage and sticky rice. Come get you some.

“Walked by the night before and didn't have time to pop in after work, but took note of the cool looking new spot in GTown. Checked out the menu and my mind (and belly) wouldn't allow me to go another day without experiencing the enoki fritters, so a late lunch ensued with fritters and street corn today. “Ordered the beef and chicken teriyaki combo with gyoza (T20) for 18.99 and was not disappointed. This place does teriyaki right, although some may say the sauce is too sweet for their liking. Personally, the sauce paired with the fried rice was well balanced. The gyoza was crispy but lacked flavor, and the dipping sauce it came with was too vinegary. I shared this plate with my sibling and we could only finish half of it. Great value for the amount of food you get.

Also got the bulgogi kimbap for $8.99 and found that the amount of rice was too much. I prefer a thin layer of rice so the filling inside can shine.

“I get a bahn mi from Nissi any time I’m near Othello station (which is a lot haha)! They make an unreal delicious tofu bahn mi, and it includes delicious mushrooms. They are accommodating to making vegetarian versions of foods (I saw a delicious fried egg/rice paper stuffed with bean sprouts and meat, and they made me a vegetable one just because they saw I wanted to try it), and the shop owner and staff are so kind. I will be coming to this shop frequently, thank you Nissi!“

“First time in west Seattle and this location was recommended to us for the best teriyaki chicken. We place our order we got the chicken teriyaki with rice and lettuce and an appetizer with dumplings and eggrolls. Our total was $30 and it was the most amazing teriyaki we have ever had.“

Have a good wine selection so step outside of the box and try a wine you never had before, the waiter can suggest. The prices are good, but remember the serving are large, you will not leave empty. Clean, well lit restaurant. Even peeking into the kitchen, I could tell they take cleanliness seriously.

Service? Attentive and friendly. Also gave good suggestions and explanations, which was helpful.

The food? STAR OF THE SHOW. Wow! I had the Mala Pho with beef. The flavor is amazing and multi layored. Yes, it's spicy, but the flavor is so good that I couldn't stop, even after sweating! Broccoli and Bok choy are popping with freshness, the beef is tender, and the noodles are perfectly cooked so that they are soft & silky without becoming mushy. My wife had the Lemongrass Bowl. She loved it so much that there wasn't a single morsel left! My daughter, who doesn't typically like anything outside of mac-n-cheese and chicken fingers, tried some of my wife's dish, and she really liked it!

We also had the chicken skewers and the garlic wings as appetizers. My daughter, who is very picky, loved the wings! Crispy on the outside, tender & juicy on the inside. The chicken skewers were delicious as well.

Lastly, I treated myself to a couple of the Meekong Mules-- a Vietnamese take on a Moscow Mule. The fresh basil makes all the difference, and it's wonderfully refreshing!

If we lived in Seattle, we'd be regulars for sure. Visited twice in our five day stay already and might go again tonight!“

The broth was rich, fresh, savory and did not have that watered down licorice taste, like almost all the pho place in the PNW.
