So many guests commented on what a great space State Line offers—both inside and outside. Not to mention the delicious high-quality drinks and friendly, helpful staff. “Had a great dinner on a Saturday night. Dined at a late seating and staff was very friendly and welcoming. Dishes were great, the deviled eggs were a great starter for our table and the entrees were big portions with a lot going on (on a good way). The farm to table and seasonal ingredients really accompanied the main proteins. I had schnitzel which was great. Others had the massive ribeye for 2 and boullabaisse and everyone enjoyed their meals.

And the random delivery of small plates, which was to be expected, could have been a little bit more even for our table of four. “I was addicted to Parthenon Gyros when I lived in Madison thirty years ago. It's now the standard by which I judge every other gyro I have tried across the country. Unfortunately none have matched Parthenon. It's not rose colored glasses because when I went back to Madison for my son's graduation, I had Parthenon again and they were as good as I remembered. When you start delivering to the East coast, I'll be first in line.“

We ordered a make-your-own pizza with olives and mushrooms, which was fantastic—flavorful with a noticeable kick from black pepper, so something to keep in mind if you’re spice-sensitive. We also tried the vegetarian Brussels sprout pizza; it was good overall, though not quite as rich or bold in flavor. The beet salad was outstanding.
