“Been going for years and now take my toddler once a week. I love walking in, everyone knowing us, sometimes getting our regular table (if we're early enough) and chatting with some of the other regulars. Prices are great, you get a ton of food and the staff is always friendly. Extra bonus they open early for my early riser toddler!!“
“We held a birthday party at State Line Distillery on short notice due to weather concerns with the outdoor venue that was planned. They were exceptionally welcoming and extremely accommodating. So many guests commented on what a great space State Line offers—both inside and outside. Not to mention the delicious high-quality drinks and friendly, helpful staff. High praise and top recommendations for this local gem. 💜“

“Dined here for lunch today and loved the vegan options! Menu is clearly marked so we didn’t have to modify anything, which was highly refreshing. Shout out to Living on the Veg sushi set and the crunch salad, both solid choices. Bright and welcoming interior, with equally welcoming staff! We will be back again and again. Take no shiitake🍄“

“I immigrated from Russia as a child and I’ve searched for a taste of home for years. As dramatic as it may sound, my first taste of Paul’s Pel’meni had me sobbing in my car. It tasted just like babushka’s cooking. I don’t think anyone can understand just how much that little bite of home really means to me, but I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude. “Sat outside after the farmers market and had a really nice brunch. Saffron was our server and she was very helpful. Omelette with ham and cheese was delicious and candidly doesn’t even need the hollandaise sauce. Ham sandwich was great also.
Only nit is $4 each for fountain pop. Maybe one free refill at that price?“

“My family and I had a marvelous dinner here. The food was excellent and plentiful, the service was great, and the restaurant is charming. We had the stir-fry beef noodles, thukpa (soup) and the lamb thali, as well as momos for the table and it was all tasty. We also had a lovely conversation with one of the staff about Tibet and Nepal and the regional differences in cuisine. The place is a bit on the small side so you may have to wait for a table, but it is very much worth the wait. I intend to make this a regular stop when I am in Madison.“

“One of my favorite foods is pastys, I was excited to learn about this place, otherwise you would find them normal in the u.p area of Wisconsin. All of the varieties are great! “I was addicted to Parthenon Gyros when I lived in Madison thirty years ago. It's now the standard by which I judge every other gyro I have tried across the country. Unfortunately none have matched Parthenon. It's not rose colored glasses because when I went back to Madison for my son's graduation, I had Parthenon again and they were as good as I remembered. When you start delivering to the East coast, I'll be first in line.“

“Our reception had the perfect setting at Garver. So spacious and flexible in design that every one of our ideas was doable. The staff were so creative and attentive to whatever I wanted. It can be so overwhelming trying to deside but Danelle was so good at helping to nail down our vision and make suggestions that enhanced our vision. “Rock solid pizza joint. Great pizza. Expensive...but if you want a quality pizza every so often, it's worth it.
Spinach delight, belly buster and hot honey heater are among the best.
Love that they also serve ice cream, and the kids that work here are always friendly.

“First time dining here. Great food and atmosphere. On a side note… To a beautiful lady. You were the beautiful woman dining—maybe with your mom—at “a restaurant by the river”. We locked eyes, shared a smile, and you held the door for me as we walked out. I wanted to introduce myself but got a little nervous. When you turned around after walking away, I knew I missed my chance. If you see this, I’d love a second one.“

“Honestly, I'd been sleeping on this place for far too long. We ate at the bar and everything was fantastic from the apps, to the dumplings to the Ramen. The brussel sprouts were a standout app. The dumplings were beautifully handmade. The Tonkatsu Ramen was so solid- sumptuous, perfectly salty, gorgeous hand pulled noodles. Lastly, the price was really affordable. Three people ate really well with drinks and we got of there for under $120. Bravo, Umami! We can't wait to go back.“

“Ordered my usual dine-in as a to-go tonight. There was a minor confusion on the staff's part...not sure why, the guy was fluent in English and Spanish. Anyway, it was quickly sorted out. The food was excellent, as always! Never hesitate to eat here, or get a to-go from here!!!“
“This was our third here and as during the previous two we were extremely happy with our visit. This time we got to meet the owner and we were all very impressed with him. Staff is great, wine is wonderful which my wife her friend enjoyed, and there were several beers option for my buddy and me to choose from. We sat outside and enjoyed a relaxing time with the smell of pine trees topping our experience. We will be back again and again.“

“First time eating here and have to leave a review. We waited about 35 minutes since it was busy, but it was worth the wait! We ordered the pretzel with beer cheese and mustard, the beer cheese had a nice kick to it. Also ordered a single smash burger which was one of the best I’ve had and bun was really moist. Got the shroomer pizza to share and although it was thin it was still stretchy and very good, no complaints! We will be back“
