“Tonight I came there with my best friend and all of our rambunctious little ones. Mine in particular were being wild. When I went to pay for my coffee my card wouldn’t work (I later found out it had been locked for suspicious activity lol) and I tried everything else I had and was so embarrassed. The cashier kindly told me not to worry about it and I could still have my drink. I know it may not have meant much to them, but that free coffee meant a lot to me in that moment of chaos. ?“

“This is an awesome Latin-owned coffee shop, right here in bham. Everyone who works here is always welcoming. And, perhaps most importantly, the coffee is excellent. The shots are consistent and the beans are great. Oscar who manages the store knows his stuff. I always end up getting the horchata latte because it was too good to pass up after I tried it once, but perhaps one day I will branch out. Glad to see the stickers keep growing on the tables :)“

“I’m not a coffee drinker. But a local chef(shout out to Whitney Simone!) I follow and patronize raved about Rochelle’s grit bowl, so I decided to try breakfast here. I wished that it was advertised that breakfast was sold here because I always thought this place was just a coffee spot. Anyway, I was sooooo impressed with the cuteness of the decor inside. It felt very cozy and intimate. Soft music played in the background. I love the branding on the cups and other merchandise for purchase. Upon entering, my friend and I were greeted warmly. We placed our orders and found a place to sit. The seats were comfy and a bright red that matched the theme of it also being a lounge. There was a little free library where you could take home a free book. There were several small tvs available to watch. Our food came out after a short wait. Yall….my grit bowl was absolutely splendid! The grits were creamy and perfect- not too thick, not too thin. The meats were delicious as were the eggs. My friend enjoyed his pancakes but also wanted to try the grit bowl after hearing me rave about mine. After he devoured his, he agreed that it was just as good as I told him it was. My peach smoothie came in this cute little sealed cup with the branding on it. I love a business that doesn’t skip on the branding! I enjoyed my experience here 100% and I’m even thinking of returning tomorrow morning for breakfast! One thing I would improve: I hope the owners consider advertising that they sell breakfast as well. Folks like me that may not be coffee drinkers but who love breakfast will gladly patronize the business…if we know they sell more than coffee. Overall, this place earned my 5 stars.“

I love this place so much and I’ve been to the other location in vestavia, the service is great, the food is good, the only problem i have is the blenders are EXTREMELY loud and it makes it really hard to focus to study or talk to someone. I’ve been enjoying the homewood location more because of the wonderful atmosphere and chill cafe vibes.“

This place has not just coffee, but also REAL chai and REAL matcha from REAL ethical and sustainable sources. Need a snack? “One of the best white mochas I’ve had in a long time. My mom got a London fog and my grandma got a vanilla latte. We each ordered a different type of toast. Everything was delicious and fantastic! Next time I’m in town, I will be coming back here!“

Very nostalgic with all the old retro video games. They have so many board games, gaming set ups, XL checkers, etc. it was very busy and seemed to be super popular spot!“

“I stopped by the location in Montgomery by chance a few weeks ago, and loved their coffee. Was so pleased to see we have our own location in Birmingham as well! I got the cold brew with macadamia milk, and it was great! The store is bright and airy, and the baristas are helpful, kind, and efficient. There is street parking nearby for visitors.

“I liked the Mayan coffee and the stoic service. I don't know what happened to my hearing that day but I had the hardest time understanding the barista. She took it in stride and after my third fumble she started speaking with an accentuation that bordered on the theatrical and a smile that showed more empathy than frustration or sarcasm. I am a regular at Santos Mountain Brook. I've tried several of your locations (and other local coffee shops) and Santos Mountain Brook is HANDS DOWN my favorite. I could be bias but it's probably your best location, service wise. The entire crew - from Austin, Alex, Collette, to alllllllll my girls (yes, they are mine because they treat me like I'm family LOL) - AND the strong smooth drip coffee really makes my day. You all really scored big when you established this environment. I've yet to find a coffee shop where I look forward to giving my money, as well as getting up on a Saturday morning just to get to my favorite table.

“I stopped by Hello Bakery and was blown away by their delicious croissants—but what really stood out was the owner's kindness! I bought four pastries, and to my surprise, they gifted me a free almond croissant! 😍

Croissant Quality:
The croissants here are perfectly flaky, buttery, and freshly baked. The plain croissant had a crisp exterior with soft, airy layers inside, while the almond croissant (my free treat!) was rich, slightly sweet, and packed with crunchy almond goodness. Absolutely delicious!

Customer Service:
The owner was warm and welcoming, and the free croissant was such a lovely gesture. It’s rare to find a bakery that cares so much about making customers happy!

Final Thoughts:

“Stopped into Santos Coffee & Bar Uptown for a quick breakfast snack while attending a convention at the BJCC, and it was a nice little find. I grabbed the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant — it was good, warm, and hit the spot, though not the best I’ve had.

What really stood out, though, was the strawberry smoothie — excellent flavor, refreshing, and made just right. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and need a quick boost.

Friendly staff, good vibe, and a convenient spot to escape the convention bustle for a few minutes. Solid 4 out of 5 stars from me — and I’d go back for that smoothie alone.“

The French toast is not for the diabetic with its extremely flavorful cinnamon and powdered sugar topping. Another recommended breakfast choice is asking for grilled toast, you'll think me later!
