“Went here for brunch and everything I had was delicious. The smoked fish dip was one of the best foods I've ever had, and I loved the dill in there. The grilled oysters were really good and kind of tasted like if you made an oyster Italian. The brioche French toast was pretty good, and the shrimp and grits had a great cayenne butter. I got the spicy bloody Mary, and it had a good spiciness.“

“An Alabama tradition, the restaurant is pure charm and nostalgia. It would be hard to find a more friendly staff anywhere. I was there for lunch and had the gumbo. It was a perfect blend of ingredients with just enough spice to be enjoyable. I finished with a large slice of peanut butter pie that was equally amazing. It was southern home style you can only find in these authentic locations. Well done.“
“I gave 4 stars because the food wasn't to my liking, of course we ate all of it we paid for it and we do not throw away food, but it was fresh and hot. Our server Faith was a sweetheart?♀️ and very kind when I asked for more butter,she brung it right on out. The atmosphere gives off a vintage smooth free vibe,which was superb and we loved it. I do recommend this restaurant to others, it's just we are huge seasoning lovers and we love to try different places and styles of food so we gave this place a shot. “Last night my husband and I ate dinner at Firebirds. Our steaks were INCREDIBLE. They could compete with Fleming’s or Perry’s. Our service was excellent. I wish I remembered our servers name, she was quick and very kind (she had on a David Yurman cross pendant, young and light brown hair). I do recommend making a reservation if you’re going on a Friday/Saturday night. As we were leaving, we heard the hostess say it would be a 3 hour wait for the party that just arrived. Will be back!“
“The food here is so amazing! The New Orleans-based decorations and music blasting make it feel familiar inside the building. The staff was extremely nice and patient, answering our questions and making small talk. They're extremely sustainable by using reusable silverware and dishes. However, the tables are close to each other, which adds to the homey/familiar vibe, but it doesn't help with preventing COVID-19. Though, they do offer take-out as a counter! The area is really small with limited parking but the experience there left a big impression.“

“I’ve been to Ragtime Cafe at least dozen times now for take out food and dine in. I absolutely love all the staff. Their menu is extensive and there is something for everyone. I usually get the beef tenderloin and blackened shrimp salad. Their beef tenderloin is melt in your mouth tender and so flavorful. Everything I’ve tried there has been delicious. Their bartender V is hilarious, fast, and knowledgeable. She remembers everyone’s names and things they like. She can have a million things going on and still be getting drinks out perfectly. I wish I had time to dine in more often instead of grabbing an order to go. They are well worth a try! They have indoor and outdoor dining and can be perfect for a date night or a night out with friends!“

“I’ve been going to O’Sushi almost weekly for a couple years and never took the time to leave a review until now. If you love raw tuna rolls and yum yum sauce, theirs is personally my favorite and the best of all the other sushi restaurants around Hoover. I order the same dishes frequently (Roll Tide Roll and the Fantasy Island) and each time I go they present the dish beautifully, and a little differently each time. Today I got the Fantasy Island and the Sushi Chef presented it in the shape of what looks like a crab haha (At least that’s what I saw). They are kind of tucked away so they were one of the last sushi places I tried since moving to Birmingham and it’s a shame. It was very loud inside with all the “socializing” but with limited stops from the waiter/waitress, I feel if we sat outside this review would be better. Food was delicious though. But if you get the maple brussel sprouts be prepared for very crunchy and sweet flavor with very little brussel sprouts. I won’t order them again.“
“The best wings and quesadillas from a food truck I’ve ever had. The sides are crazy big and can all be loaded up with toppings. My wife loves the okra and hot lemon pepper catfish. The Jamaican Jerk wings were excellent fried extra crispy. Philly cheese sandwich and quesadilla were perfect.“

Last night my husband surprised me with dinner here with my kids and family for my birthday. The food was great per usual as well as the drinks. However, our main server last night had the worst personality, her attitude was horrible. I can’t remember her name but I would definitely remember her face. My daughter asked about the birthday dessert and she was very snappy with her. For this server to get a 130.00 gratuity she definitely deserve it at all. Very fast for to-go orders. It's usually pretty loud inside, but feels like home. Drinks are reasonably priced as well.“

“I had dinner tonight at Brock’s and the atmosphere is amazing. It’s very modern with an open kitchen. I got to sit at the chef’s table and was greeted by amazing servers and chefs. The focaccia bread was amazing and so flavorful and served with the house butter. I enjoyed the flatbread with rotisserie chicken, goat cheese, and grapes. I would highly recommend the flatbread. It was delicious with fresh ingredients and made in front of you in the kitchen. This is a perfect spot for a great dinner and to get away and relax from the busy day.“

Kayla was our server and time we were seated she instantly came to the table. I have to say that Kayla is a true gem. Her personality and attention to detail were top notch. I want management to know that you all are very fortunate to have a person like Kayla on your team. I observed her waiting 4 tables while giving each one her full attention. She gave us recommendations for drinks and they were spot on. In my opinion she deserves employee of the month or some token to show her that her efforts are not going unnoticed. “So I visited Carters Hooka bar & Grill for the first time. I had seen so many good reviews on another site so I decided to give it a try. To say I was underwhelmed wouldn't suffice. The atmosphere was nice, chill little vibe. Good music, good vibes, bad food & Drinks were disgusting. We ordered shrimp & grits, steak & shrimp, 2 blue MF (drinks) & Cajun ranch cheese fries. The grits were under cooked, no seasoning, and tasted like water. We added salt and that didn't help at all. The sausage was burnt and it was a little too done. The shrimp was seasoned but it didn't balance the grits. The steak and shrimp tasted like each other. They didn't have a distinct flavor, it's like they cooked it together. The steak was waaayyy overcooked and the heat wasn't hot enough because the steak didn't have a char on the outside. It was spicy along with the shrimp. It did come with 2 potatoes covered in cheese and a side salad that was mostly tomatoes & cucumbers minimal lettuce. The drinks were not good but not bad. Too much alcohol, the end that's all. I would come back but definitely not for the food.“
