“We had read about Bacanora and all the awards, and eating here did not disappoint. From the prawns to the cactus to the short rib, the food was excellent. Everything is cooked over an open flame in the restaurant and the atmosphere is wonderful. We were celebrating our anniversary and the wait staff was attentive and helpful with great suggestions and pairings. Definitely a restaurant that deserves all the accolades it gets.“

“Some places you visit once and forget. Tacos Rodriguez is not one of those places. I first came here with one of my best friends and we went all in — Carne Asada fries, Carne Asada tacos, the works. Everything was incredible. So when I found myself housesitting in the area, coming back was a no-brainer.

This time I kept it simple: a large Horchata and the Carne Asada burrito. Perfect decision. The burrito was packed, flavorful, and exactly what I remembered — the kind of food that earns a food truck a permanent spot in your rotation. And that Horchata? Honestly one of the better ones I’ve had.

The portions are generous, the price is right, the vibe is great, and the staff is genuinely friendly every single time. This place has consistency locked down, which is hard to find anywhere let alone at a food truck.

Tacos Rodriguez is the real deal. If you haven’t been, fix that.“

I would have given higher stars for food because my shrimp tacos were AMAZING! However, my husbands smothered, bean and cheese burrito was just Meh. If you find your favorite on the menu, this is the local place where you come regulary.“

“The carne asada fries were delicious! The fries were loaded with tender, flavorful carne asada and all the right toppings, making them a filling and satisfying meal. The sauces were especially good and added the perfect amount of flavor to every bite. The portions were generous, the food came out hot, and the casual atmosphere made it a great spot to grab a meal in Tempe. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

We had casually mentioned it was our 30th wedding anniversary on Monday and Pam graciously paid for our meal and drinks!!! “I used to be a laundry service person in 1981. For the first 6 years I was delivering the towels here. I got to have their food. Loved the food so much that even to this day we talk about the food.
We have lived in Texas for 39 years now and we still wish we could get the burros. We have been talking about a little vacation and your food would be a good destination. So glad that y'all are still in business.“

“I typically don’t go to Mexican restaurants, as I really don’t like them. My friend drug me there and I went back again the next day. The shrimp tacos are to die for. I could eat them everyday. Even the chips and salsa was the best of any restaurant I’ve been to. I wish they had one here in Illinois! If I go back to Scottsdale, I’m going straight there to eat! Also the bartender/waiter was the friendliest, most efficient, knowledgeable guy! He was amazing!“

“I started eating lunches at Don Jose in 1966 while I was pregnant with my daughter. I ate there often because I worked nearby. As the years went by we ate there so many times the “original” staff knew us by name. When they closed down we were saddened, but were so happy when they sold the business (and recipes) and reopened. My daughter and family and almost every close friend I have continue to enjoy the great food, the family atmosphere, friendly staff and owners. I highly recommend Don Jose’. Best find of 1966 through today!!“

“Just looked up where to eat that was near my last stop and this restaurant came up. It did not disappoint! When most of the people eating here are Hispanic you know it’s good. And it was great. I was married to a Mexican so good Mexican food is a must. I will be back! Highly recommend!!“
