“I eat pretty regularly at this Someburros and always order the Beef Machaca burrito and recommend it to my friends. I recently went for lunch and saw that the special was a Caldillo plate. I tried it and loved it! Everything was delicious. Even the grilled jalapeño. This has become my go to meal . I will also recommend their green sauce that you can get with your chips.

The workers greeted people with smiles, took orders fast, and made sure everyone was satisfied with their meals. Even during busy hours, the staff stayed organized and professional. “This place is my after the gym go-to! My boyfriend and I always indulge in the #15!
Unfortunately, I got out of the gym later then I expected last night (3.1.2026) and decided to call in an order (10:25) so I can come pick it up without having them make it right before they close.
The lady on the phone seemed pretty blunt, which is whatever, it’s late. However, I arrived at 10:50, which yes, is a little late, but my order was already done, all I was needing to do was pay.
Anyways, I try both doors, and they are locked. I politely tap on the window and say “hey! Im so sorry, but I called in and ordered, and I’m needing to just pay and grab it” The lady standing at the register (shorter woman with a black bob) rolls her eyes and keeps saying they’re closed. (It was about 10:51, me paying would’ve taken a minute max). I looked at my phone and held it up, then told her it was only 10:51, and that I was just quickly needing to grab and pay for my order.
She then rolls her eyes once more and starts laughing with the cooks in the back, I tap politely again and point to my food sitting on the counter next to her, and hold up my card to let her know I’m just needing to pay. She ignores me once more and returns to giggling with the cooks.
By then I’m very upset and the girl hormones are getting to me, so I return to my boyfriend’s truck with teary eyes and explain what happened. I ask him if he can give it a try, and as soon as he approaches the door he is let in and able to grab our food.
Usually this wouldn’t phase me but I feel this may have a slight tinge of racism attached. I myself and am a light-skinned black female, whereas my boyfriend is a white male. We both were very polite and both got very different reactions.

I love Los Favoritos so much, and the food is always amazing quality! However this is the only one in phoenix, so it makes me sad that this is how I was treated. My mother always taught me forgive and forget, which I will, and I will continue coming to this location, but I do hope this will bring awareness to the way some staff is choosing to treat customers.“

“Had the vegan dorado and cauliflower taco, and enjoyed both!! The vegan queso is also phenomenal! I definitely questioned whether it was vegan at first because it was so good. Even my picky, non-vegan fiancé agreed! Staff was also very kind 😊 will definitely come again!“

“Their Mexican food is one of the best in Scottsdale. They'll be moving soon to a different location away from Old Town Scottsdale. It will be sad they're leaving. However, they will remain open at a new location 20 minutes away from where they are now.“

“Alexa and the hostesses are amazing! Every time we come it is a great experience. One time I wasn’t having the best day, and Alexa was very sweet and honestly made my day better. Plus the food is delicious. The atmosphere is awesome. We went another time and had great service from Jett. Will always be coming back. Shout out to Corey, Brock, and Alex as well. It’s nice always feeling welcome any day of the week. As regulars, they never fail to remember our orders - lol. La Cocina is one of our go-to restaurants, and the people there make it even better. Love to spend quality time there with my partner.“

“We hadn’t been here for a while, and as with almost all other restaurants, the prices have increased fairly dramatically. They still have one basket of free chips and salsa and both were really good. We especially like the flour chips. We ordered the quesadilla Cobb salad and the nachos.

Both presentations were great and the nachos were huge. Way more than one person could eat. The Cobb salad was good, but maybe 1/4 of the bacon and chicken was chewy to inedible. The nachos had lots of chicken, cheese and refried beans and were very good. Diced tomatoes, diced jalapeños, sour cream, and guacamole were sprinkled on top.

The service was good and we recommend giving it a try.“

“Went in here and had some birria tacos last night. The first thing I noticed was how complicated the menu is. This young kid up front had introduced himself as Braden and helped me through the whole process. He ended up getting me a good deal on 3 birria tacos and a drink. Immediately afterwards he asked what salsas I wanted and contrasted them. I sat down and the wait was somewhat long considering its just birria tacos. The Music from the kitchen while I sat waiting was UNBELIEVEABLY LOUD. It was throwing me off too because it was different from what they play in the restarauant. Once Braden brought me my food I started eating, meat was slightly charred but overall if you like greasy tacos they are pretty good. Consome dip was very good as well. Braden came out to check 2 times to make sure I was liking everything which was unusually good considering this is just one of those take-out places. Overall the food was good, service was AMAZING and if the music hadn't been so loud I would probably give it a 5th star. Don't know if I'll be back yet.“
