“Oldhand coffee was a breath of fresh air for the business community of Abbotsford when it opened a few years ago. It is and will always be my favorite space to be in for a visit with a loved one or for a day of applying to jobs online (or a first date haha). The owners and staff are all kind and knowledgeable. “What an absolutely great burger and for $10, including fries. You can tell someone has studied their craft well. It's in an industrial section of town, and the cafe has a super basic and nostalgic appearance. It's like stepping back into the nineties or eighties. There's even paper copies of the Province up front, which you used to see in every cafe. I would make the trip out for sure.“

“I wanted to try the Palm Café for a while ever since I checked the menu there. I ordered the “6 Nutella Banana Waffle with the Eggnog Latte. The waffle was very delicious. The waffle itself was soft and warm all around, the bananas was quite fresh, the Nutella was rich and tasty and the whipped cream was pleasurably sweet (even though the pink colouring does nothing for the cream.) The latte was so, very good and I could taste the eggnog in the beverage. The interior aesthetic was pretty straightforward; however, I do admire the lights and the wallpaper in the establishment. The service was great and I have no complaints against it whatsoever. I highly recommend anyone who loves waffles to come to the Palm Café. Even if you do not care for them, they also make sandwiches and avocado toast.“

“I was taken here for my birthday and LOVED it! They even accommodated my allergies so I could enjoy high tea with my friends. “I just wanted to share our wonderful experience here. So, my 3 yr old son could not decide between the chocolate cake and the red velvet cake because the red velvet cake had a oreo cookie on top. We ended up getting the chocolate cake, and to our surprise when the nice lady who took our order served the chocolate cake she placed the oreo cookie on top of the chocolate cake and that just made my son's day. The food and coffee was great as well 😊“

“This is my favourite location in Abbotsford. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere in general is welcoming. There isn’t a ton of space to sit inside this location but there is also space outside plus the service and the consistency in how my order is made right every time makes it worth it. When you’re paying for an expensive drink, you at least want it made right and with this location I never have to guess if the drink will be good or not.. it’s always good!“

“They say that with age comes wisdom and they would be right. Culminating in the Rose Room is homemade soups sauces and entrees but we can't forget about the homemade desserts too. You get a satisfying meal for a very very, yes that's, that are affordable with quality ingredients and made by hand by the chef on site who knows his stuff. If I had to say anything negative, there is an unprofessional young man with a moustache who trash talks very loudly about his colleagues in front of customers too. “During a recent visit to Starbucks at Sevenoaks, I witnessed something that truly touched my heart and showed me what exceptional customer service looks like.

While I was waiting for my drink, I noticed Bhawani cleaning tables, greeting customers with a smile, and checking in to make sure everyone was enjoying their visit. She wasn't just doing her job—she was genuinely connecting with people and making them feel welcome.

What happened next really stood out to me. There was an elderly lady sitting alone with her coffee. She appeared quite frail and was struggling to add cream and sugar to her drink because her hands were shaking. Bhawani noticed this immediately and kindly asked if the lady would like some assistance. After receiving permission, Bhawani went to wash up, put on food-preparation gloves, and carefully added the cream and sugar to the coffee, stirred it, placed the lid on the cup, and served it back to her.

But she didn't stop there.

The elderly lady also had a piece of banana bread and seemed to be having difficulty handling it. Bhawani quietly brought a plate, cut the banana bread into small bite-sized pieces, and made it easier for the lady to enjoy her food comfortably.

I was genuinely moved by this act of kindness. It wasn't something she had to do. There was no attention being drawn to it. It was simply a young woman noticing that someone needed help and treating them with dignity, patience, and compassion.

In a world where genuine care can sometimes feel rare, Bhawani reminded me that there are still people who go above and beyond for others. Her kindness, professionalism, and attention to customers are truly remarkable. Starbucks is fortunate to have someone with such a caring heart representing their brand.
