“My family and I eat here at least once or twice a year, usually in the summer when we can get a table overlooking Saanich Inlet. Food and service are typically very good.

Our last visit a few days ago wasn’t quite up to par. Service was pretty slow, but it was a busy Saturday evening, and the place was nearly full. Took a while to place our drink order after being seated, then a good 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Food was a good 30 minute wait. And it took a looong time to get the bill when we were ready to go. All no big deal given how busy it was.

Unfortunately, the ambiance when seated in the upper level of the pub isn’t awesome, so that made the long waits less pleasant. Our view was split between an ok view toward the water on one side, and a large screen tv playing MMA fighting on the other - none of us really wanted to watch bloodied fighters going at it while I’m out for a family dinner.

As for the food…not great. Sushi was decent, but for some reason the soy sauce was unusually salty, as was the dipping sauce for the order of gyozas. My Korean Beef Bowl was over-sauced, making it almost soupy. And the Poke Rice Bowl was ok, but (consistent with a trend we’ve seen at many restaurants) the amount of tuna was not generous.

I’ve given the 4-star rating taking into account that my experience is usually better. I will go back, but I won’t be in a rush.“

“The Dirty Bird, as the locals call it. First time there. We had a couple of drinks and dinner. All was good. The atmosphere is “community pub” the beer was cold and refreshing, the food was good, the service excellent. I’d go back for sure.“

“One of my favorite spots in downtown Victoria. I tend to go mid week in the afternoons when it is quiet. Great staff, excellent beer selection and usually a good happy hour special. Currently they are doing a beer and a hot dog special that's perfect for a mid afternoon break. Also older movies play on the TV'S.

Parking: Its downtown Victoria parking costs alot. Pay or bus or walk The walk is worth it.“

“We had the pleasure of eating at Four Mile Brew Pub on Sep 2nd, 2024. We were visiting Victoria on a Cruise Ship and a local couple picked this establishment for lunch along with another local couple. The food and service were outstanding, and the building is beautiful inside and out. We ate in the pub area and really enjoyed the experience. The manager really came thru, though. When paying a card case dropped to the ground and we didn't notice it. The manager found it, and seeing a California phone number called and got the house sitter who gave the Cruise Ship information, and then let us know. The manager dispatched an employee to return the card case. The house sitter let us know and we were able to talk to the manager and since the employee was on the way, we were able to meet him and retrieve the case. High praise to the staff! Thanks!“

“Ordered the fish and chips. It was really good, and the portion was quite large. Battering was nice, and you could tell the fries had been done in fresh oil. Not too noisy, but we were there late on a Monday. This pub has been open for a very long time, and I can understand why.“

“We had a great dinner at Six Mile Pub. The calamari was delicious and the bangers and mash was tasty and filling. Our server Faune was helpful in suggesting to us which meals to order. We will return to try more menu items.

Dietary restrictions: Since we have a member of our group with a wheat/gluten allergy, it was nice to see so many items on the menu that could be eaten by her.“

“I enjoy Charles Dickens Pub. I give it 4.4 stars. I would give a 5 star if they would get some more comfortable chairs. The high chairs are not bad and the booths. However the main small chairs are very uncomfortable to sit in. I would consider making an investment in this.“

“A group of ten of us recently reserved a small section (semi-private) on a Saturday for lunch and we were all incredibly pleased with the service and the super yummy food and cocktails. The prices were very reasonable ($15 menu specials) as well and our server, Maddy, was a true rockstar. Some of the guests had special diets and they had options for all of them (paleo, GF, keto, vegan). Looking forward to returning!“
