“We had dinner at Alpina Restaurant at Villa Eyrie Resort and were completely captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views of Saanich Inlet, framed by rolling mountains, lush greenery, and endless blue skies. Between the spectacular scenery and the outstanding cuisine, it was hard to decide which was more memorable!

We began with the rye sourdough bread, served with whipped butter and an apricot-cardamom butter. It was a simple yet elegant combination that we had never experienced before and absolutely loved.

For our mains, we enjoyed a roasted rainbow carrot salad with greens, feta, grains, and other flavorful toppings that made every bite delicious. The pesto pasta, finished with candied pistachios and a generous burrata, was an incredible combination of creamy, nutty, and herbaceous flavors. The seared tuna was perfectly cooked and served with fresh greens, while the grilled lingcod was flaky, moist, and delicately flavored, accompanied by tender beans cooked with tomatoes and other delicious ingredients.

Dessert was equally memorable. The **Les Rochers** was a rich, decadent chocolate pastry, while the **Tarte aux Myrtilles** featured a crisp tart shell filled with berry compote, topped with fresh blueberries and dollops of berry cream. The highlight, however, was the pistachio tiramisu. Our server assembled it tableside using ladyfingers, coffee, whipped cream, pistachios, chocolate, and other ingredients, turning dessert into a fun experience. The portion was enormous and easily enough for our family of four to share.

Outstanding food, impeccable service, and one of the most spectacular dining views on Vancouver Island made this a truly unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.“

The atmosphere is choice, and the delightful hostesses will do their best to accommodate. The inside window tables have excellent garden views.

On this vacation to Victoria, we visited Butchart Gardens five of the days and dined at the Dining Room all five days.

She genuinely engaged in conversation & checked on us regularly providing a hot water top-up. The food was delicious with plenty of variety & options. “Came in for my birthday meal a few days ago and it couldn’t have been better! We started with some bellinis which were delicious. The spinach and artichoke dip is 10/10. I got the Chicken Alfredo and my husband got the steak and everything tasted amazing. Our server Lacey was lovely and made my birthday feel very special, and even brought out a dessert for me. “We stopped at The Blue Poppy Restaurant for lunch during our visit to The Butchart Gardens and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. For a cafeteria-style restaurant inside a popular tourist attraction, the quality exceeded our expectations.

We ordered the seafood pasta, which was generously loaded with prawns and scallops. It was rich, flavorful, and so delicious that our kids polished it off in no time.

We also tried the Butter Chicken Poutine, a Canadian classic with a creative twist. Crispy French fries were topped with cheese curds, rich butter chicken curry, roasted cashews, and other flavorful toppings. It was absolutely outstanding—comfort food at its finest and almost impossible to stop eating after the first bite.

The restaurant overlooks the beautiful gardens through large picture windows, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy the scenery while you eat.

Service is cafeteria-style but fast and well organized, with friendly staff and prompt delivery to your table. A wonderful lunch stop during a visit to The Butchart Gardens.“

“I stayed at the hotel here and popped by the restaurant. It didnt appear too exciting but I ended up having a wonderful meal and lovely evening chatting with staff and patrons.

The pork tacos had so much meat and were delicious. We also tried the beat Salad and added salmon. It was cooked perfectly.

The manager was incredibly kind and accommodating. We asked many questions about the menu and drinks and he answered all of them kindly.

It was a very great experience overall. Not a busy spot but some amazing menu items and great service!!“

“Decent place to come for a meal. Nothing amazing but everything is good. The burgers are above average and the steak was rather chewy, but cooked nicely. Objectively I would give white spot food 7/10. Staff was very helpful and friendly 10/10 for staff. The deserts however are amazing! The apple pie and peanut butter cheesecake amazing 9/10. Come to white sports just for desert“
