“The food was mediocre at best. The owner was a very rude person. He comes across as self righteous and condescending. I was shocked that this would be the experience there, especially after reading some of the other reviews. Unfortunately, this place is a hard no for me.“

“Excellent quality and delicious tasting sushi rolls at Woomi in New Westminster. Located inside a mall, this place offers excellent high quality sushi rolls at very reasonable and affordable prices.

Ordered the Sunshine Roll and Red Dragon roll. The dragon roll was spot on, the sashimi was fresh and the sauce flavours were great. Everything tastes fresh. The sunshine roll was also very good. Big large pieces of salmon sashimi that was great.

I’ll definitely will be coming back to this spot, it’s certainly a hidden gem for a sushi spot. The place is takeout only but there are seats inside the mall.

“Had an amazing lunch today at Sapperton District Taphouse. I ordered the House Salad with cajun chicken and my daughter had the Kung Pao Noodle Bowl. We both loved our meals! We also tried the Moscow Mule they have on tap and a pint of the Vertical Winter Ale from Tree (drank that too fast to take a pic, so good). We felt very comfortable the whole time. Lots of covid restrictions in place and we especially liked that our utensils came individually packed and sanitized. We found out this place is entirely locally owned and they have a cold beer & wine store inside!! We took home some Rock Creek Cider on our way out. We will definitely be coming back soon.“

“I'm a New West resident and have been going to Steel & Oak probably since it first opened and any time I have served growlers of their beer at gatherings on my deck, people have loved it. I recently went there with a group of non-New West friends and everybody enjoyed the beer, food, service, atmosphere and vinyl collection. As I was paying my tab there was a problem with the credit card machine and I was inadvertently charged twice. When I dropped in to explain what happened the staff were super friendly and helpful in getting me a refund. I’ll continue to tell people how great this place is and be in on a regular basis.“

“I tried their fried chicken noodle. Meat portion is 25% of the whole noodle plate.
But I like the taste and texture.

I tried their chicken fried rice and fried chicken with dry peppers.
Fried rice was average and had 20% chicken and 80% rice, I shared with another person as we are small rice eaters.

They have a seating capacity for 12. And tables were already taken on Sunday during lunch hours.

Strong coffee taste with creamy condense milk, yet, the bitter and sweet blended harmoniously and I couldn’t hope buy finish the iced Viet coffee within minutes. It was indulgent but not overly sweet. I’d come back again for the coffee. The vegan chicken banh mi was freshly prepared and super tasty! Highly recommended for a delicious quick grab!“

The short ribs entree came with the short ribs, 2 eggs over easy, salad & rice.

Short ribs were tender & well seasoned

Egg yolk mixes well with the rice to create a unique flavour. Saffron vinegar goes great on the meat & salad.

Fried fish cake was tasty.

“It's a really good Chinese restaurant. We go there for late lunch on Saturday. I don't know what to order. I see the chicken with broccoli chow mein looking good on my next table. So I just tell the staff I want this one on the other table. She tells me that the one I want has lunch special. It's a good deal. It costs only $14.95 for it. I also order one veggies stream dumpling and congee. The dumplings are so good and fresh. It's even better than the big dim sum restaurants in Vancouver.

“This is some of the best food I’ve ever had! The man that was there is the cashier, waiter, chef and owner!!! He’s very friendly and is also busy, the food is definitely worth the wait. The atmosphere is wonderful, it’s peaceful, and quiet. For a small business, it feels extremely professional. The food was also very affordable. As someone visiting Vancouver, I was expecting to pay $$$$$ on everything, but this place made me feel comfortable, and let me feel good about spending my money, along with the food be very very good. If I was a local to the area I’d definitely make this my regular spot to grab a bite. If you ever have the chance, go and grab some food and support this business.

“After walking past the broken irrigation system and entering inside. You will be greeted and directed to a waiting area which is a bit uncomfortable seating looks nice but very rigid, you will be forced into a proper posture.

The food is very quick and fresh to arrive almost as if the chef is at the table with you.

Wait staff very quick to make sure your table stays clean, had to ask they stop changing my plate so often, kind of funny but a but distracting when you are chatting with your group. I did very much appreciate the humor they had when coming around very welcoming with the humor of an uncle or a sibling, a gentle tease or offering to do somthing ridiculous like well if you dont like the filling in the sesame bun I can remove it for you no charge and give you back the bun with no filling.“

“I’ve been meaning to do this for the last month and I have finally gotten around to it. Every Saturday we go for lunch at White Spot and we have been greeted by a host named Emma. (We finally found her name out last week) she seems to really love her job and goes out of her way to make us feel very welcome, chatting and joking with us while she gets us a booth. Always with a smile on her face, hair, neatly done and those nails! My daughter looks forward to every Saturday when she gets to see what colour or design is on her nails. The servers are excellent, regardless of which one you get. (Sorry, don’t know your names) very attentive, polite and know their job well. When it’s busy, the servers and the greeters work together to make sure we are not waiting long. The food is always consistent, but what set them apart is the people. They have a great team there, from the moment you walk in to the time you leave, you feel like you are appreciated. Would recommend this to anyone who thinks atmosphere is an important part of the dining experience.“

It’s our absolute favourite spot for sushi we normally get the chicken teriyaki bento box and it’s at a pretty good price you can expect to pay $30 for two people if you get 2 of bento boxes. They have good service and we have never experienced anything less from the staff, they have been nothing but kind towards us you can normally walk in and get a table right away and have food with in 5 to 10 minutes of ordering same goes for take outs.“

“Such a pleasant surprise at the New Westminster skytrain station. Simple, fast, fresh, delicious, and large portions for the price in a spotless environment. We came on a weekday at 12:30pm not expecting much. But our order of Favorite Combo came quickly and in large portions with free miso soup. Kiddo was excited and satisfied.
