Staff here are great and now that I’ve brought my wife, she craves it whenever I bring up sushi. Whether it is takeout or eat in, the food never disappoints. I strongly recommend the “French kiss”, I’ve eaten it well over a dozen times and I haven’t seen anything like it anywhere else. And if you are coming to the west coast you have to have sockeye sashimi with every meal. Wow it’s good.“

“I came out for lunch with my son . We ordered sushi rolls it was fabulous and we can taste the freshness in salmon and tuna . The rolls were good size and I had lunch teriyaki bento box and overall I would say sushi was great and definitely come back .“

We had left the restaurant and walking to our car when she followed us outside and questioned about her service. What she was inquiring about was her tip that she felt she was entitled to! After informing her the tip was on the table she immediately turned around and left without offering a thank you. What the hell?“

“I ordered omakase nigiri, mackerel and eel hako sushi, black cod saikyo yaki, and agedashi-tofu to takeout for our anniversary dinner. All of them are amazing! Especially, mackerel hako sushi was the best of all mackerel that I ate in Canada. Not only the fish, sushi rice was so good! Thanks to these great foods, we could spend the great anniversary! If you are looking for the real Japanese amazing sushi, I strongly recommend Yugafu!“

The chicken katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with a golden panko coating that was pure perfection. We ordered the hira pork katsu, kimchi katsu that came sizzling to the table and the cheese katsu. The accompanying tonkatsu sauce had just the right balance of tangy and sweet, elevating every bite. The atmosphere was cozy yet modern, Jenny was attentive who made us feel so welcome. The side dishes, especially the miso soup, pickled veggies, and salad were all fresh and flavorful, rounding out the meal beautifully. Portions were generous, and the presentation was impeccable. “Sushi is pretty good and reasonable for the price! Only con is they MADE us pay 25 cents for a bag.... they insisted a bag was needed to carry the platter (we got a combo), even though we had carry bags of our own, some of which are quite large.

We thought it would be wide enough to carry the platter by the handles but the platter was still in sideways, and we still had to carry it by holding the bottom. So.... we didn't need the bag after all.

4 stars for that reason, otherwise the place is fine for sushi.“

“This place is a staple for sushi this side of fraser valley. It's easily the best sushi in fleetwood and is always consistent in freshness of ingredients, quality of food presentation and flavor, and is an all around gem and pleasure to be here.

The trays are on point, and the Aburi, Sashimi and appies are unrivaled. Coming to Tobiko sushi feels like coming home in no small way. Staff and chefs are always courteous and welcoming. Love this place!!“

Staff are friendly (some newer ones take a long time to notice you & take the order.) but the older ones are super kind.

“I’ve literally been coming here since it opened, approximately 19 years ago, and the quality has not wavered! The food is beyond excellent and the service is wonderful! My family and I love it here! This is my comfort food and my celebratory food, and everything in between!

My favourite must-try’s are the Crab meat mushroom, agedashi tofu, kani sunomono, dynamite & California rolls, and the Teriyaki Box (beef or chicken).“

“seafood kalguksu [15.46 before tax]: The kalguksu came out super hot and fairly quick. In this economy? the portions for the noodles itself + the seafood is spectacular (octopus, 1 mussel, clams, & maybe scallops? not sure) Broth was flavorful & delicious, noodles itself were nice, but could be a little chewier, just my preference though

nigiri/dynamite combo a: awesome quick takeout sushi! honestly my perfect set, ive gotten this multiple times, so i obviously recommend.

service: i appreciated the fact that the moment i finished my cup of tea, they noticed immediately, and went again to refill it. I really liked that they left us alone, despite that still was able to provide nice service. They were straightforward, no over-the-top stuff. I'd say if your body language is visible, they'll be observant about it.
