“My partner and I have driven past this place a few times, both thinking to ourselves that we want to go to Daddy's Grill just because of its name, lol. Today we finally visited!

Honestly, I had a great time. The menu is both as simple and as varied as it should be. It makes ordering easy. Everything on the menu looks good, so it's hard to go wrong.

The food itself is delicious, cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Very nice choice for salad dressing, all are great flavours combined in one dish. I was offered a large naan with some dipping sauce as an appetizer, and it was so so good.

When it comes to shops offering Persian cuisine, this one is higher class. The food, the service, the interior decor, everything is high quality and the restaurant itself is very clean, including in the bathrooms. I wasn't expecting that! I also came at a busy time, the kitchen is open concept so you can watch the chefs as they cook -- They are very efficient.

There was a man, who I assume is the owner, that was catering to my table. He makes you feel like family. He is such a humble and good person, you can tell the customer experience is very important to him.

There were a couple girls working the tables as well, they approached the right amount of times and no one was over-bearing or over-serving. They have everything perfectly balanced.

“It’s always awesome to have great and fresh food with amazing varieties of items of both vegetarian and non vegetarian that are sure to please everyone’s taste buds and one such place is there within easy reach and reasonable pricing. This is the place which has been in operation for several years now helping many office workers in the tower and many people in and around the area. The portions come with choice of meats and two vegetable items totally complimentary! For the carb, they serve hot rice with a surprising addition of a fried papad at no charge. This has been my ‘go to’ place for my lunch everyday for many years so long I was working in the tower office and now having retired visit this place without fail whenever I happened to visit downtown Vancouver. Great quality with no change in taste and flavour for years. Checkout their special item of the day, that is on every weekday Recommended highly!

“A great late-night option for wraps and platters, my personal preference.

Chicken/Lamb/Beef platters are $18.49 each, and my portion was happily hefty when I picked it up in person versus ordering via DoorDash/Uber Eats. It comes with Greek salad, 2x domaldes, 2 potatoes, rice, and a heap of meat that gets covered in 2 sauces of your choice.

I also ordered a side tabbouleh that I wish was more dominant with parsley, but it’s still decent, and quite filling with the extra quinoa.

The location was super clean, and the customer service was sincerely warm and friendly. Not sure what’s with all the negative reviews, but in my opinion, if you enter with a smile, you’ll get served with smiles in return.

“I’ve been dining at Babylon Bar and Restaurant for many years, and it continues to be one of my favourite spots in the city. Located right on Denman Street near English Bay Beach, it’s the perfect place to sit, relax, and soak in the view and the incredible Vancouver ambiance.

One of the things that truly sets Babylon apart is the owner. He’s often outside engaging with the public, welcoming guests personally, and you can immediately see how passionate he is about his food and his restaurant. He recognizes me every time I come in and treats me like family — that kind of genuine hospitality is rare and speaks volumes.

The service is always top notch — warm, attentive, and authentic. As a vegetarian, I really appreciate how accommodating they are. On my last visit, he made me a crispy-style falafel wrap with fries, and it was absolutely incredible. The wrap was perfectly done, full of flavour, and the side of tahini sauce they serve with it takes it to another level.

If you’re visiting English Bay or just walking along Denman, I highly recommend stopping in. Great food, outstanding service, beautiful location — this place is a true Vancouver gem.“

“The Place in UBC kyros kitchen is the most favorite place to eat Mediterranean food and Greek Food, The Restaurant Staff and specially the Owner were real good to deal with. They actually take so much care of choice and give perfect reccomendations which were actually so so good like Braised lamb, Lamb shank, Falafal Platter and then one Chicken shawarma wrap all were so so good.
There Drinks Mango lassi, Masala Chai and Lemonade are worth trying.
Most of all the food served is so so Fresh and Healthy.

The only thing that stood out to me in a negative way was the manager (or maybe the owner, I’m not sure). He was wearing a suit and seemed to be constantly watching and correcting the staff. It made the atmosphere feel a bit tense, and the employees looked nervous whenever he was around. Maybe it was just my impression, but having worked in that kind of environment before, it didn’t feel like a very comfortable place for the staff.

“Had an outstanding dinner here, easily some of the best Greek food I’ve had in the Lower Mainland. It honestly rivals the spots on the Danforth in Toronto. The beef and chicken souvlaki were perfectly cooked, moist and full of flavour, and the potatoes were next level. Great value overall. Thanks for making it such a memorable birthday dinner.“

“​I recently visited the donair shop located right beside the Commercial-Broadway Skytrain station. It is a very nice, clean, and convenient little outlet if you need a quick and delicious bite to eat.
​The highlight of the experience was definitely the food. They made a very good roll that was packed with flavor. I was also highly impressed by their menu, as they have a wide variety of options and toppings to choose from. Whether you want something classic or want to mix it up, they have something for everyone.
​The only minor downside is the space. There is not much seating available inside the shop. They only have enough room to seat about 6 to 8 people at a time. Because of this, it is much better suited for a grab-and-go meal rather than a long, sit-down dinner with a big group.
