However, there was only one server at the front. She had to handle seating guests, making drinks, taking payments, serving dishes, and cleaning tables all by herself. It was clearly too much for one person to manage. The management really should staff more servers.“

“A great local, great daily specials, full happy hour feels with an amazing array of locals that will fast become pals. The bartenders actually do know your name on your second visit, and full of charm. No politics, a packed trivia night on Wednesdays and don’t let the stove behind the bar fool you. It’s a limited menu however the quality and portions are winners. I used to make the best nachos, until I tried them at The Brighton. It doesn’t matter who makes them, if you are a fan, it’s the Brighton or Jackalopes. Give it a try“

“We went for the Sunday roast - the service was great, we had a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon that was lovely and the gravy was divine. The only let downs were the peas were rock hard and the beef was quite tough. The taste was good but but definitely overcooked, and I tend to always go rare so could just be a preference thing but I'm not sure I'd go for the beef again.“

“Been in here twice now while on visits to Vancouver. I'm rating this place as a dive bar and as dive bars go, this place is great. Friendly bartender. Clientele are either pleasant or indifferent to your presence and not causing any issues. Pool table is straight and drinks are cheap. I'd recommend to anyone wanting to check out a safe dive. Props on the exterior signage!“

“My fiance and I ate here last night. We were walking downtown and discovered it, and we were hungry so we went in.

A beautiful place with cool decor, and a nice, calm atmosphere.

We ordered the dirty fries, calamari, and a chicken burger. Holy crap.

The food? 20/10. Most phenomenal fries and calamari I've ever had. So fresh, crisp, and the calamari wasn't rubber at all. My fiance's burger was light and crispy, and so flavorful.

We will 1000% be coming back. Thank you!“

“I came in on a Wednesday, at noon. It was quiet and then had a little lunch rush. The bartender was awesome, service was great. I asked what to have and she said the tacos but I really want a the chicken sandwich. It was awesome!! Perfectly fried, great bun that didn’t disintegrate, and very delicious. First time coming here, I’ve been on campus for work over a decade. Happy I tried it and I’ll come back. Thank you!“

“Came in for hockey and karaoke on Thursday. The staff are super friendly and drink specials are competitive - compared to most places in Vancouver the price is very good! Food prices are also fair - I didn't eat but plates looked great. Considering there's a strike going on, they still have a well stocked bar.“

“Watched game 7 here. Our waitress was awesome and so kind the whole night despite how busy it was! Great atmosphere. Lots of TVs and reasonably priced food and drinks. Good location in Kits. Yummy pizza place beside the bar. Once went to a birthday here and it was awesome. So sad watching the jays loose. Some might even say that the better team lost. Anyways, great night. Definitely recommend Biminiee. Super awesome.“

I went for my first time yesterday to watch the Off Grid Comedy open mic, and laughed my ass off!

Love the unique, cozy, and historic design of this venue. Also, has a bunch of arcade games and pool table, if the comedians aren’t entertaining enough for you, teehee!

Had some food and drink specials and everything is reasonably priced. Also, no cover, which makes the value of your Monday night out, increase exponentially.

The bar service was professional, friendly, accommodating, and fast! The hosts and comedians were all friendly and welcoming, and super stoked people came to just be audience members, which made us feel extra special.

A great range of topics and styles of comedy, even some crowd work. I laughed, giggled, and smiled the whole night! As I sat in the front, I enjoyed interacting with some of the comedians during their crowd work.

I highly recommend checking out Astoria and Off Grid Comedy every Monday night, especially if you are wanting a beautiful venue and very supportive group of comedians and audience members to perform in front of, as anyone is welcome on the stage.

Because of how fun and supportive everyone is, I have been inspired to start learning aspects of stand up comedy, so at some point I too will stand up and make some jokes.

Thank you again, Astoria and Off Grid Comedy for such a great Monday night out and I will see y’all again!

“Popped in to the Kings Head this afternoon. Our second visit as I am visiting family. Had a great afternoon sat in the sun when the clouds would let us. But no matter as the heaters were on and kept us nice and toasty. Had some great wings & fry’s all washed down with some Cider. Served by Christina who’s new to the role but destined to be management in no time, attentive without being overbearing. And made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back soon… cheers guys“

“Incredibly accommodating staff for my 5mo baby and husband. They seated us in a quieter section near a washroom with a change station. We relocated to a function (that was downstairs) and the staff helped us carry our stroller down. Second year that we've been here for a function and each time has been wonderful.“

“Went for Easter Monday lunch. Food was awesome, I had the roasted turkey sandwich and my friend had the Cajun chicken sandwich (she was able to get it dairy free). Both were really tasty and great portions for the price. Workers were also very kind. Good seating options and bathrooms. Def would come back :)“

Staff seems laid back, friendly... best to check their web site for various events they have on a regular or semi regular basis. Web site says they take only cash... not true. I get the impression there's no food served there but they don't mind if you bring some of your own as long as you're not ostentatious about it.“
