“Did chipotle chicken poutine was delicious. The burger smash tacos were pretty good. A little more sauce or maybe a side of ketchup would have gone a long way. The cocktails were delicious but a little small for the price. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was fabulous. Downtown UBC on a sunny day on the patio is a great stop“

“Randomly came upon The Brighton, walked in and immediately felt a New Orleans vibe which was delightful. A good ole dive bar feeling where one can relax and be yourself. The staff were amazing, specifically Hubert who provided a laid-back vibe and very good conversation while I sat at the bar. Hubert was working hard pouring drinks and making Nachos for a growing mix of ppl coming from the Lamb of God concert. The 2 girls waiting on customers were also pleasant and down to earth. The music was an eclectic mix of old school rock all the way to the 80’s, 90’s and current metal. Loved it! The place was open late with No Pressure to get during last call. If you’re in Vancouver go, see Hubert at The Brighton before or after a concert at the Coliseum, or a drink to sit back and look at all the awesome memorabilia on the walls.“

“Definitely on the affordable side, it's an amazing place to go on a sunny day in Vancouver - the patio has a lovely view of Gastown and the mountains. The food was really good (portions a bit on the smaller side, but not upset with that since prices are on the lower end). Service is a bit slow but overall really enjoyed my time here and would go back gladly.“

“For late breakie (brunch) on a Sunday? Excellent! Fit in a group of friends no problem,no waits. Easy Sunday street parking- check! Food -excellent. Space - perfect for our larger group of 8. Service - very good. Pub loud atmosphere - alive & well, maybe a little too much. Some very loud drunk folks were there (really the only other handful of people), yelling & cheering - unsure why, no game on. Oh well. The Beagle menu has a great smoke salmon Benny, and their breakfast specials is where the Huge Value is for the $15 price tag. You cant beat The Beagle....a great Kits staple. Will be there again. soon!!!“

“Great atmosphere and great service. I walked down from my hotel for a drink one night and was really impressed — they make an excellent Negroni. I also tried the poutine; it was good, just a bit salty for my taste. I didn’t try the other food, but everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked solid. Overall, a nice spot to stop in for a drink and relax.“

Also just to highlight, we all absolutely love the fried Brussels sprouts, and although they are still listed on the menu, we were told they are being taken off, so please bring them back! :) :)“

“Been in here twice now while on visits to Vancouver. I'm rating this place as a dive bar and as dive bars go, this place is great. Friendly bartender. Clientele are either pleasant or indifferent to your presence and not causing any issues. Pool table is straight and drinks are cheap. I'd recommend to anyone wanting to check out a safe dive. Props on the exterior signage!“

“Our favorite place when we would be stressed with school work! Large patio as well - great for summer hangouts. Super close to wreck beach and foreshore trail. You have to pay first and then they bring food to you. Tipping before even trying the food is a little interesting.“

“Popped in to the Kings Head this afternoon. Our second visit as I am visiting family. Had a great afternoon sat in the sun when the clouds would let us. But no matter as the heaters were on and kept us nice and toasty. Had some great wings & fry’s all washed down with some Cider. Served by Christina who’s new to the role but destined to be management in no time, attentive without being overbearing. And made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back soon… cheers guys“

“Great venue with great atmosphere. Its not what you would expect looking from the outside. Food is meh but its a music venue and it does that well. Lots of games to amuse you between sets, sweet lighting. Id go back to watch a show for sure.“

I ordered a pasta dish and a salad. The pasta was well seasoned and cooked just right, and the salad tasted fresh and bright. Everything on the plate felt balanced and satisfying. It was the kind of meal that left me feeling full and happy, not rushed or overwhelmed.“

“It’s Okay feels like a true neighbourhood watering hole and easily one of the best bars in East Vancouver. Super chill, no pretentious energy, and the kind of place you can actually sit and hang out for a while.

The food was the best part. Everything tasted fresh and actually well made, not just thrown together like a lot of bar food. The fried chicken sandwich was so good, really crispy, juicy, and flavorful without being heavy. Even the sides were solid which I feel like never happens.

Drinks were good and not super overpriced for Vancouver, and the staff were friendly and attentive!

“Atmosphere is nice. We were sat in a spacious booth for two. I wasn't enthusiastic about my main (lettuce wraps). It had a different flavor profile and what I've had in the past.

The sauce had a sour note to it and I wasn't expecting it. I would have preferred a dominantly sweet wrap.

My dining partner enjoyed his entre.

There's free parking just outside the restaurant doors. The spots are snug and the spots right in front of the door may be difficult to maneuver into, if there are spots that are full.“
