As a vegetarian who doesn’t drink, but loves a good mocktail, I was thrilled with our experience. It was definitely the perfect date night spot. The owners were such nice people who really thought out this concept. 100% recommend for people of all diets.“

“I come here a lot since it’s one of the few American-style bakeries in Alhambra. Their desserts are quite good, all baked in house, and at a good price point in a good location.

Only thing is I would recommend using a different type of packaging. I noticed time and time again that the cardboard taste permeates the food, and it’s even more exaggerated the longer the food stays in the container. The desserts are still good but I find the cardboard taste pretty distracting/unpleasant.“

“Even though this branch has been open for months now, it still feels like it's unfinished or maybe just understocked.The drinks come out super slowly, so I suggest ordering from the kiosk as soon as you enter. By the time you've made up your tray of baked goods, stood in line, and finished paying, your drink should be ready. Maybe.“

“Sometimes you’ll meet Yvonne there, who is so charming and sweet, you’ll want to be her friend. The owner of a flourishing mail-order bakery, Yvonne opened this cute bakery in a great location a year and a half ago or so. We’re very lucky that she decided to land in Pasadena. We’ve tried a lot of items, from the ube cakes to the jalapeño scones to the full cakes! Everything is great (and amazingly, also gluten-free, I believe). My absolute favorite is the coffee cake.“

I have been a guinea pig of all things g-free for the last 15 years, so I can state confidently that the donuts I had yesterday are some of the most delicious, and tasty G-free treats I’ve had. The cherry on top was the amazing service. I didn’t catch the guys named that helped, but he was so pleasant, attentive and just seemed genuinely happy to serve, and that means a lot to me. “I have been to the 2 Little Tokyo locations and this one is definitely the winner! there’s a huge variety of pastries and things to eat for a quick bite (you might probably have to eat it standing or elsewhere during the weekends since it gets pretty packed and there’s just 3 tables!) but the steamed buns were good!, the matcha mochi wasn’t too sweet so it was perfect, the almond croissant was fine but their specialty is definitely on other pastries! will definitely come back again to try more stuff.“

“So excited and proud Sugarbird finally has a storefront. My family and I have followed Chef & Owner Kei since it first started and only had regular priority mail delivery and pickup from a co-op location in Downtown LA. I stopped by after the Montrose Farmers Market, where Sugarbird was before and I believe still is for other Farmers Markets, and Kei herself was managing the store. She was nice and really excited to finally have her own storefront. I got a free tea, free clotted cream, the tea sandwich set, six scones (ube, lemon blueberry, matcha, fig & rosemary, passionfruit & earl grey) and shortbread cookies.“

“Really nice pizza place. My wife has celiac so I was looking for gluten-free choices. She tried the sweet potato crust which was delicious. I also got the Philly cheesesteak which tasted really good. Super friendly people and we ate in the store and the food was delivered quickly!“

“Constellation is a jewel in both La Canada and Silver Lake. It’s one of a handful of really good coffee shops in LA. Their espresso is smooth but flavorful, perfect for that early AM wake up call. “My wife and I loooove Just What I Kneaded (the pop tarts are insane; the crunch wraps are a MUST!) and Justine's Wine Bar (all around one of our favorite date spots), but I'm writing this review specifically to rave about the amazing and most perfect wedding cake that Kneady Cakes/ Just What I Kneaded created for our wedding day!

Our cake was vegan and gluten free - we wanted gluten free since my mother is celiac (she was very grateful for a GF cake and she loved it!). The cake was moist and delicious! We were all very impressed with the gluten free option - There honestly was no difference in the gluten free and the regular cake. And it felt "lighter" to eat!

We opted for a lemon cake with lemon custard and raspberry jam on the bottom layer and chocolate with raspberry jam filling on the top layer. It was insanely delicious and beautifully decorated with frosting succulents to match the desert theme of our wedding. The Kneady Cakes team packaged it carefully and it was sturdy + easy to transport in an insulated box all the way to Joshua Tree.

We had a wonderful time with our cake tasting, which consisted of trying cake samples via 6 different flavors of cupcakes accompanied with jars of jam and custards. It was difficult to choose, but we're so happy with our decision!

The lower layer of our cake was 8" and the top was 6". We were able to cut about 30-40 slices, easy. For a 15 person wedding, it was a perfect amount for everyone to enjoy a few slices + we had extra to freeze for our anniversary. Everyone LOVED the cake (they are still raving about it!) and it was a highlight of the post-ceremony celebration! We are SO happy to have purchased our cake from Kneady Cakes.

We can't recommend getting a wedding cake(s) from Kneady Cakes enough! Worth every penny. We'll be back for birthday cakes in the near future. We are lucky to have such a fantastic bakery and such an amazing team of bakers in east LA!“

“The food here is pretty good. We ordered Pho, sandwich, chicken egg rolls and vermicelli. Take awhile for the food to come out but it’s worth it. Chicken egg rolls are surprisingly taste very like pork egg rolls. Recommend this place if you want to try Vietnamese food in Little Tokyo.“

“I probably had Pizzanista three times a week during 2018 at their DTLA location and just found this location tucked away in San Marino. It was packed! Their vegan pepperoni was as great as I remember, I love their Jesus meets seitan, and occasionally enjoy their Mac n cheese pizza (it’s waaaaaay too heavy to eat more than one + only available on Sundays). This location had a large merch section that I wish was smaller so more seating would be accommodated inside. Soft serve machine was a bit runny but also not vegan so didn’t have that. Garlic knots are great and looking forward to trying their Sicilian slices they didn’t have when I would go often.

Beers. Parking is tight. Seating is harder for anything large. Go ahead and get the ranch on the side for sure.

Other bakeries near the wedding venue were already closed and others needed at least 48 hour notice… the wedding was happening NOW. I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. “I went here to get a quick coffee (Americano) and a tiramisu. The coffee was actually good, and the tiramisu also tasted good! But what I love about this place is that they made the tiramisu take out special by adding whipped cream around the tiramisu (NOT on, don’t worry) so that there wouldn’t be empty space.

The owner of Bon Vivant was SO nice. A very sweet man. The service was great, even for take out.“

I was looking forward to trying their gelato, but the flavor selections seemed typical so I selected one of their pastries in stead. I was in the mood for a tropical flavor and there was only strawberry or lemon and since it wasn’t on display I wasn’t enticed as I eat with my eyes first.

The peach mango mousse special of the day was scrumptious! The packaging was so elegant! It felt like an experience when I opened the box to taste my treats. Their pastries look divine! It was hard not to pick more. I also opted for an Italian cookie/tart filled with a vanilla custard and topped with almonds and pine nuts. Also very good.

In the mood for a fancy sweet treat, it’s worth a stop @ Carrara’s.
