“We have been wanting to go to Bravante Vineyards for some time now as we recently were gifted their 2017 Merlot, which we absolutely loved. Jeff was our host and he was incredibly knowledgeable and such a pleasure to chat with. We felt like we had known him forever. All of Bravante’s wines were delicious and we couldn’t help but purchase a case of their reds to take home. We also joined their wine club. We live locally and are looking forward to our next visit. “Terrific experience. Great host, great wine, great food, very informative. The only thing that stood out was we were reprimanded for taking photos with a state of the art camera that flys and they thought it was a drone and were spying. Kinda an awkward moment but then that, we would definitely go back but just take our Polaroid instead! 😆“

“Solbar is a beautiful spot tucked into Napa Valley perfect for a relaxing, elevated lunch in between wine tastings. The setting is calm and peaceful, which we really appreciated. You could actually hear each other talk which is rare and refreshing these days.

I popped in with two girlfriends for a late lunch, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our server was warm, attentive, and helpful with the menu. We ordered a variety of dishes to share: the lettuce wraps were fresh and flavorful, the sourdough rolls with spinach dip hit the spot, and the fish tacos were light and delicious. We also shared drinks and the “Lite Lunch,” which was a fun way to sample a few things.

The only miss unfortunately a big one were the Solbar Nuggets. They came out overly greasy and just weren’t edible. None of us could get through them, and that was disappointing, especially at this price point. What left an even worse taste in our mouths (no pun intended) was that our server acknowledged the issue and wanted to comp them, but management refused. For a nearly $200 lunch, that lack of flexibility felt out of step with the rest of the experience.

“Our best visit during our trip to Napa! We visited Domaine Carneros, B.Cellars, Davis Estates, Grgich, and Prager Port. We had a nice visit at all of those vineyards, but none of them came close to the hospitality, friendliness and generosity that Ryan Morales showed us during our tasting at Maxville. The wines were fantastic, as was meeting Cullen...a member of the wine making team. The entire visit was spot on from the minute we arrived, to the tour of the grounds, to the tasting. Exceptional, proud to be a club member at Maxville...can't wait until our next visit.“

“The 2023 Napa Valley Merlot and 2022 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir were fantastic, and most surprisingly, the 2024 Sauvignon Blanc and the 2023 Carneros Chardonnay were delightful. I have never truly liked a white wine until I had those two.“

“Napa Valley’s new hidden gem is Robert’s Tropical Table located in a converted breezeway/parking lot adjacent to the Mount View Hotel right here in Calistoga. Robert has been known for a decade as one of the handful of magical mixologists in our Valley having a long bar run at Sol Bar (until they closed for remodel and Covid) and then Brasswood before launching his rendition of a Jamaican Beach Cafe. His Ocho Rios roots come alive with a delicious selection of jerk chicken, pork belly, and wings with an escovitch fish perhaps better than mine. And never to be missed are the festival dumplings and a perfect Dark and Stormy. Open DAILY when the music is playing and gates are ajar (3pm to 10pm).“

“Hall Wines was an experience beyond anything that I could have imagined. When we came to wine taste at Hall, our expectations were not set. I've been too many wineries in St Helena, but I've never been to Hall. The grounds were absolutely immaculate. The winery was stunningly, beautiful. Our server Alfredo Hernandez was knowledgeable, warm, friendly, inviting, and a superb host. I love talking about wanting and asking questions as I taste and both Alfredo and Tom were both a pleasure to engage with. We enjoyed absolutely everything in our experience. We enjoyed everything so much that I decided that after July of this year, I would like to switch my wine club over to Hall from another wine club that I have in Napa. Very much looking forward to our next visit!“

“Had our first visit to this beautiful winery on Thursday. This was our 4th visit to Napa Valley and this is definitely a top 5. Feels like you're visiting a friend in the countryside. They have beautiful gardens filled with flowers and fruit. If you love dogs this is the place for you. We met the 11 year old golden and heard there are more puppies there too. The people are so friendly and knowledgeable and the wines are so delicious and different than the other wineries. The artwork a the bottles makes it even more special.Thinking Cap white is a blend of grapes we have never heard of and was super delicious. The Pro Que No is a fantastic easy to drink Red blend. We left with 2 bottles of that one. Every wine we tasted was a winner. Met Julia (the winemaker) and her wonderful husband (the farmer). Two really down to earth people who seem to love what they do. Go visit. You will not be disappointed!!“

The number of varietals available for tasting made this experience a great value and the quality of each wine were phenomenal! Our favorites included the Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc, and several of the Cabernet Sauvignon. We enjoyed sitting in the shade on the deck overlooking the winery. I had an excellent host, Diana. She talked me through the different wines and even talked me through some Italian varietals that I didn't know for an upcoming trip I have. Diana is very knowledgeable and incredibly personable and a true asset to the Flora Springs team. Overall, it was a truly great day!“

“Cute little ice cream shop in the heart of town. Best chocolate chip ice cream I’ve ever had in my life with large chocolate chips as opposed to the tiny little ones that most shops have. Several unique flavors as well and the only place I’ve ever seen that has a spiced waffle cone, which smells delightful and tastes delicious.“

“It was raining when we visited so they set us up on the porch of the main building, which I LOVED. They had the heaters going and offered a cozy blanket. We were allowed to walk literally anywhere we wanted which was such a cool experience to see the bottling process and the cellar. “We attended their 3rd Thursday of the month event and had a really great time! The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. The food truck that was present was really delicious. Enjoyed the outdoor grounds and the tasting room had a really nice modern feel. I really enjoyed both their Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Merlot which is usually not my go to was a really smooth wine, an easy drink despite the heat. This is a really fun event, you just have to register ahead of time and the event is free, you just pay for food should you choose to eat and any bottles you may decide to purchase. I would definitely go back to this winery on my next trip to California. Thank you again for a lovely evening!“

“This was my second visit, and I brought a crew of first-timers with me. Jojo was amazing—smart, passionate, and totally dialed in on both the wine and the A&O story. Our group had questions (a lot of them), and she made the whole thing feel effortless and personal.

“Spent an hour or so enjoying a delightful Sparkling Pino Grigio. We were hoping for a tasting, but appointments are required for that & we just showed up. They said we could buy a glass or bottle & enjoy their patio. We were given a small taste choice & we purchased a bottle of Sparkling Pino Grigio. My daughter & I were there on a Friday so there were few people around and we enjoyed the quiet of the patio with some conversation with the host. I'm sorry I didn't get his name as we appreciated his company. We only finished about ½ of the bottle and purchased another. We got the opened bottle capped so I could bring that one home & my daughter had her own bottle. I'm enjoying a glass of it now as I'm writing this review. Yum!
As the driver, I appreciated they supplied cold water also as the day was warm. They also provided a water bowl for my daughter's dog.“

“We recently visited Calistoga for a wine tasting getaway. We stumbled upon August Briggs Winery while walking around and explore the downtown strip, and WHAT A FIND! Matt was so much fun to talk to and explained the intricacies of sourcing for various wines and considerations for selecting grapes for his wines. Not only did we learn a ton, but the wines were FABULOUS! We brought several bottles home and my partner has a list of new questions to ask next time we visit!

They make the experience so far above any other winery I’ve been to. They’re willing to answer any and all questions and really deep dive into the wine. Couldn’t recommend this place more!“
