“Great spot for soondae lovers. The soondae hot pot comes loaded with pork belly, beef, intestines and veggies, and the broth gets richer as it cooks. I liked dipping the soondae in shrimp paste for extra flavor. Portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. Would definitely come back.“

“I’m giving this place more like a 3.5. Luckily for them the food is excellent. The service was awful. The wait wasn’t that bad at around 40 min. The moment we sat down a rushing waitress showed up asking what we’d order and they dropped off 2 place settings. We were missing 1 napkin for 2 people. Not a big deal and was dealt with quickly. Then someone drops off 1 water and 2 teas so we are short 1 water. They never corrected the issue but it wasn’t an issue as my mother didn’t want ice water anyways, but it’s a bit much to assume. We hadn’t even gotten to look at the menu yet. Then a waitress comes around again before we are ready and we had to send her away again. Then finally we ordered. About 2 minutes later our rice arrives. After that it was a full 30 minutes before we received our food. People around us got their ban Chan and food before us despite ordering after us. All the food and ban Chan arrive at the same time and they are apologizing to us. The waitress (different person this time) asks us if we want tea. I say yes. No tea arrives until I ask. Then need the check. Have to ask again. I understand they are busy but everyone else seemed to be receiving what they ordered in a timely manner. You can probably get away with the delay with a larger table, but not a 2 person table. Our table was the only one that seemed to be waiting that long.“

“Today at M’s kitchen, I went with the chef’s suggestion of “cold noodles” (which is the meat sauce noodle with soy bean paste, ask for cold noodles). The pronunciation sounds like Tsa Chang lian mein, and while my mandarin is terrible the food was thankfully not. “We have only moved here for a couple of months, and this restaurant has quickly become one of our family favorites for noodles and Chinese appetizers.

We love their lamb and beef noodles, they are yummy and nutritious, perfect for a cold and rainy day. Their daily specials are only $9.99 which is pretty good value these days.

We also like that they have several different kinds of noodles to choose from: regular is nice and al dente, thick ones have more substance, and rice noodles are nice and chewy.

Chinese Appetizers are one of their best offerings not to be missed, they are at the counter, covered for freshness so it’s a bit hidden. Basically you walk up and tell them you want to order appetizers, and they will open the lid and let you pick 3 kinds. We usually pick 2 veggies and one meat for $12.99. This complements our soup noodles very well.

Restaurant is generally pretty clean and comfortable, the service is prompt and courteous. Plenty of free parking.“

I highly recommend the papaya salad, the pineapple fried rice, and the green curry and basil (this curry was the best dish tonight. I kept going for more and didn't share with the others, lol). “Pho 45 in Garden Grove is a bright, busy, and very clean spot with a friendly vibe. We ordered the phở tái chín và viên and the phở tái nạm gân. The portions were generous and well balanced, with fresh herbs and noodles. The broth was light and I personally wished for a bit more spice aroma, but it was still one of the better pho experiences I have had.

The service truly stood out. For a small mom and pop restaurant, it was the best I have seen. The owner watches every detail and the staff is very attentive. I had a stroller with me and before I even reached the table they cleared a chair so I could park it easily. Our food also came out super fast.

The space is simple with white textured walls and is very family friendly. Service is a 10, food is a 9. I would definitely return“

“As you walk in birds chirp to welcome you in. I ordered the carne en su jugo, it was delicious. Born in Jalisco, and eating this dish at homemade, it definitely hits home! I also tried the red pork pozole and was ok for my standards,but for my American friend it was a 10. The bigest disappointment was the Tamale de Rajas ( cheese with jalapeño slices) it had no cheese, but had tomato, onion and jalapeño. I would not recommend it. Service was excellent, very clean establishment. Only recommendation is to offer a desert, like churro, flan or arroz con Leche. I would come back, I would like to try the albóndigas next time.“

“1st time trying Pho Waffle and Grill. It's a small place but as usual small places have the greatest of foods. I ordered the Salmon Bowl and also the Beef Pho to go. If it's raining and you want some warm pho. This is the spot for you. Close to South Gate, Lynwood, Bell Gardens, Downey and Paramount. It has drive thru and a small mom and pop restaurant that should definitely be supported for the great food. The crazy thing is soontofu costs $17.99 per bowl! This includes the rice bowl that comes in the stone pot. Add water to it after you remove the rice. Take it home to drink. This also includes the side dishes, like kimchi cabbage, kimchi radish, bean sprouts, etc.

You order on the tablet at your table. When you need to check out, there is an option on the tablet too.

I docked one overall star because the service was lacking. The tablet has options to ask for water or get the check, but there is no button to get to-go containers or more napkins. It was hard to flag down someone, and it took them even longer to get what we asked for.

“Excellent Hu Tieu My Tho soup! We ordered it (kho) dry with the chicken broth and red sauce in the side. This is our new favorite restaurant for Hu Tieu My Tho. The owner is very friendly and eager to get you whatever you need to make you happy. They also have excellent Cafe Sua Da, very creamy and not watered down or bitter. We will definitely come back everytime we are in town.“

“This is one of my Thai mom’s favorite restaurants and is also a favorite for my relatives as well. While this is not close to the pinnacle of Thai food, I can admit that most of the dishes are decent. My family always gets the fried pork, thai fish cake and boat noodles. Their sausage is fine.“

“This place is an old school Korean restaurant but the food is excellent. As someone who recently moved from Koreatown LA to a gateway city, I had to find my go to Korean restaurant and I think this is one of my favorite places. We like to get the Uhndaegoo jorim (braised black cod). Some of our other favorites are the dahk gae jang, as well as the bohtsahm. The atmosphere is very modest and simple, but this is the kind of place that suits me.

I highly recommend this place both for Korean traditionalists as well as non-Koreans who just want some really good quality Korean food.“
