“Fantastic Gem right next to the beautiful Avila Beach“
“First time we've been able to visit Avila Beach and just enjoy a weekend. Saw great reviews about Alapay so went for wine tasting. So glad we did! Awesome wines and friendly service from both Diane and the owner Scott. Did not intend to, but joined their wine club because it was just such a personal, enjoyable visit and we liked everything we tried. Can't wait to come back!“
“First time in SLO and tried several wineries and I have to say this one was by far my favorite! From the wine itself to the hospitality, everything was top notch. Tara was an absolute delight and really took the time to go through the wine making process with us. I can’t recommend visiting this adorable winery enough!“
“Fun family owned winery. Great wine, great people and good location. They do a buttery Chardonnay, a killer petite sirah (inky) and a unique varietal called Teroldego. Buy it if you can get it. The do fun events and Friday Sunset in the Vineyards during the summer with music and food trucks“
“Lovely place to visit if you are in the area.
They have very nice ambience with outdoor sitting on deck, surrounded by flowers. The staff is very curtious and helpful.
We went for wine tasting combined with lunch and picked the place due to multiple food options and it did not disappoint.
Wine flight had great selection from Paso robles area wines and the panini and flatbread were just a perfect pair.“
“I asked a very prominent Edna Valley grape farmer who the next up-and-coming wine maker in Edna Valley was, and he pointed me to El Lugar and their wine maker Coby Parker-Garcia. I dropped by their tasting room next to Ancient Owl and was absolutely blown away by the quality of their wines - the best tasting I’ve done on the Central Coast perhaps ever. They are very Pinot Noir heavy, which isn’t even one of my favorite varietals, but the artful skill of the winemaker shines through. I didn’t have a single wine I disliked, but their Pinot from Bien Naciedo stood out as an utterly flawless wine. How it doesn’t earn a 98–100 point score from wine critics is beyond me. That said, my personal favorite was their Pinot from Bassi Vineyard near Avila Beach. There was a very interesting cayenne note in there that made the wine really exciting and, lucky for me and my pocketbook, was one of the cheaper wines they sell. I don’t think you can go wrong here. The only error you can make is not coming paying this hidden gem a visit. I see a bright future for Coby and El Lugar.“
“Had a little vertical tasting of the 2014, 2016 and 2018 Legrein. To tasty and too much fun. Thanks Chris!“
“Loved, loved, loved working with the Filipponi family on our recent SLO CASA Rendezvous at the Ranch 2021 fundraiser. Scott went the extra mile with us and their wines are absolutely superb 🍷❤️“
“Kayden was a terrific host. She was warm and kind and filled with info. The setting was gorgeous and with all the lavender, we felt we were in Provence! It was on the expensive side, but we have no regrets. The charcuterie came in a plastic container but it was absolutely delicious and was more than it first appeared. Thank you Tolosa and Kayden❤️❤️“
“We were looking for a casual wine tasting experience and were so happy to find Steve. He poured our tasting himself, taught us a lot about his wine, and had fun conversation. We are not wine connoisseurs but we thought his wines tasted great.“
“Mike (the winemaker) and his family hosted use for an adventure down the Riesling path and showed us how different it could be from vineyard to vineyard. From slightly sweet, to minerally, to dry. All excellent wines. He through in a German Gruner Veltliner which was excellent. It was paired with some charcuterie and great conversation. If you like the personal experience, this is it.“
“Love this winery! Great wine, atmosphere and awesome staff! Make you feel right at home!“
“Excellent experience. Ryan was extremely passionate about his craft and it was demonstrated clearly. Thank you for such a wonderful wine tasting experience. I would recommend it to anyone.“
“We've belonged to Kelsey for several years and Love the wine, ciders, staff, peacocks and relaxing with the entire Kelsey experience. Thank you to all!“
“So glad I learned of this fun, intimate wine tasting room in downtown San Luis Obispo! They have very good wines, including some unique whites and a stellar rosé, all sourced from the fabulous Edna Valley. I joined their wine club on my first visit! Service has always been exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. Elena, who is almost always there, treats us like good friends…sort of a “Cheers” vibe, but with good 🍷“
“Wonderful, warm and very welcoming winery.Susan took good care of our group. With just the right amount of information on the wines we tasted. And some very yummy wines. The outside area is nice and shaded, and you are in amongst the vines. This was a excellent place for our group of 6, and you can bring in food. Plus is it less than 10 minutes from the airport.
Thank you again for a prefect afternoon.“
“Knowledge staff who are friendly dog-lovers. Perfect location for rustic wedding or parties!“
