“Not a lot of japanese bakery selection here in the Bay Area, but this spot is a must-try.

Decided to try a large variety of the menu, and everything was a hit. Would def recommend getting the chocolate and matcha lattes; they are so rich and authentic which is rare to find even amongst drink specialized stores. Also would recommend the cream cornets and the tonkatsu sandwich; portion is huge!

Staff were all very friendly and professional; I you like your bread not too sweet, would def recommend.“

“First time ordering a crunch cake! We got the 6” inch strawberry crunch cake and called in the order a day before to pick up. Parking is limited since it’s a residential street. When I arrived for pick up, they were just putting the brittle on. The cake is very unique, the strawberry crunch had brittle crumble all over the outside and in the inside are two moist cake and a thick layer of cream and fresh strawberries.The cake is not that sweet and taste amazing with the brittle crunch. Cutting it wasn’t that difficult, I wiped the knife each slice as instructed. I would order the mocha cake next time! This cake is $35, cash only.“

“What a hidden treat la biscotteria is! I accidentally stumbled upon them when trying to get cannoli, only to discover the greatest biscotti I've ever eaten. So much flavor and crisp, and a wide range of flavors. Personal favorite is definitely the chocolate dipped chocolate hazelnut but the lemon and blueberry ones are also super solid. Great pairing with a warm drink on a cozy winter day.“

“Ever since Simply Cake opened in the area, they have been our favorite place for Hong Kong style baked goods and the only place we go to for birthday cakes. It's delicious and elegantly packaged. The cakes they made for our grandma's 100th and 101st birthday have gotten a lot of thumbs up from those who had it. It's a tradition for us to to keep coming back for 102nd and onward! “Very nice cheesecake store. We had 2 cheese tarts, and two cheesecakes, and I found the tarts to be particularly amazing! I think they were short staffed when we visited, as one of the employees was making teas, and working the register at the same time, which meant we were waiting in line for a while. Would recommend, as it is a delicious treat in the mall! THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CASH!!

“Shop is small and quaint. Great location. We ordered a baker's dozen. I tried their Snickerdoodle, Cookies and Cream, Toffee, and White Chocolate Macadamia. My favorite is the Cookies and Cream. I'll try their other flavors next time.“

“This family-owned and entirely operated contemporary French-inspired bakery is like going to the Cuneo’s home. With Pops and the boys baking in back, Ma upfront; their Italian warmth and hospitality is apparent in every (delicious) morsel and in the way they treat each customer.
Shatteringly-crisp Laminated Doughs, the absolute softest, cloud-like Focaccia, quality deep, dark chocolate (Pain au Chocolat/ Brioche Suisse), and a Baguette with just the right amount of whole grain to give pleasant chew and a glossy crumb. (The hint of cinnamon in the Pain aux Raisins is absolutely brilliant.)
Do yourself a favor and check them out- and dare one say: Gorge yourself!

“Whether you love savory or sweet baked goods, this all vegan spot is a must! Off the charts, crazy good! We went to town with the pepper bun, scallion scone, and twelve month rolls for savory. Then we got the cinnamon roll, citrus scone, and almond croissant for sweet. They boxed them separately, and omg they are all so good!“

If you're in Millbrae, make sure to put Ponyo on your to go-list! Ponyo has an amazing selection of Asian foods. From masubi, ramen, coconut pudding, probiotic drinks, sparkling waters, crackers, seafood snacks, chips, desserts, samplers (at the counter), and to the best part, trending snacks you would see all over social media!! One of the trending snacks are Melo Melo, but the newest item I've seen today (date of this review) at Ponyo, is the trending Tao Qi Peach ice cream (photo).

Though, one suggestion I would make for customers, is to bring your own bag, since the bags provided are cheaply made and have paper cut-like handles. My friends and passerby's also complained that the bag handles were too sharp and thought, oh, it's not just me. To the boss of Ponyo, as good service, please provide better bags for your customers. In addition, the place is a little cramped and warm, so strollers or wheelchairs would not fit well.

Overall, the snacks that Ponyo provides are good for people who are fans of something (e.g. Hello Kitty), have dietary restrictions like vegans (e.g. Melo Melo), and great when on dates. Come check it out!! ?

“I really love coming to this place because it has a simple menu that’s perfectly executed. I’ve tried maybe 5 variations of their empanadas and each one came out super flavorful and fresh. The bread they use has a homemade authentic flavor and their spice isn’t actually too spicy. The empanadas do take ~5 minutes to warm up, but the atmosphere of the cafe feels very cozy and it’s a great place to read or relax. Sometimes they play soccer matches on the big screen and it almost gives a neighborhood bar feel. Really recommend!“

“I was looking for a bakery near at my work before going home that morning and this store shows up. I heard from our other friend that they like Sheng kee bakery. I bought moon cake, melon cake and freshly baked pork bun to bring home for the kids to bring it at school for lunch.

The moon cake really taste good will buy more but it's a bit pricey for less than $3. I asked our kids if they liked the pork bun they say it's good. Melon cookie taste good also.
