Hawaiian Restaurants near Buena Park, CA

“Aloha is now my new Hawaiian bbq go-to in the LA area. This new Buena Park location is located in a strip mall with ample parking. Service is prompt and friendly. Incredibly generous portions for the price - what a great value meal.

For just around $50, this was enough food for both dinner AND lunch the next day for two of us (the portions are so generous that $50 essentially bought us four meals between two hungry adults!). What we ordered:
1. The $10 spam musubi and chicken skewer plate (both delicious). By the way, the chicken skewers à la carte are amazingly priced, at only less than $2 a skewer.
2. Chicken katsu - perfectly breaded, flavorful, and love that Aloha seems to only use dark meat/thigh (no breast, and therefore far juicier).
3. Bbq meat plate - the beef, shortrib, and chicken were all perfectly grilled. And of course, we loved the classic sides consisting of Mac salad and rice.
4. Crispy shrimp - loved how crispy they were.

I noticed that they cater as well - making a mental note to call them for my next event, as the value for quality and portion is beyond outstanding.

“Wonderful place! Staff is super friendly. I got a regular bowl with salmon and purple rice. The sauce was really good and the selection of toppings and fish. Highly recommend of you like poké

Vegetarian options: Its mostly fish so great for pescatarians but not for vegans.

Parking: Plenty of parking spots

“Shootz is sooo good. I usually get the katsu chicken sandwich and spam masubi. The portion is kinda big and the quality is consistent. One of the best places to eat at rodeo 39! The chicken sandwich is so crispy and the spam masubi has a crunch at the top which makes it so yummy.“

“Decided to try this place out . I had pre-ordered ahead of time for pick up. Ordering Platform was a breeze and easy to navigate. I got the island beef ribs and the beef bowl. I was suprised at how many ribs you get and the amount of meat on it for only 18 bucks! It was plastic wrapped down so the package wouldnt leak which was helpful cuz I hate when my food leaks. The flavor of the meat was salty and greasy and that is just how i like my meat to taste. I was impressed. I spent a total of $30 bucks for dinner for myself and my honey. Location was easy to get into and parking was a abundant .“

Very good portions at Mr. Poke. I got 3 scoops of salmon for my half brown rice, half salad poke bowl, with all toppings, and all sauces. It was actually a lot of food and I could only finish half. I didn't want to leave it for the next day, so my mom ate the other half. I guess since I got it via Doordash, I did not get the miso soup.

“If you’re looking for freshly cooked food, stop here. This place is a little shop hidden in a shopping center. It wasn’t crowded on a Saturday afternoon about noon when I entered. The gentleman immediately asked if I wanted to order while he put together another order. As I reviewed the menu, I ordered chicken bowl and some soup. The food took a little bit of time to get but I was okay knowing that my food was cooked to order. The gentleman did mention that I could call it in before picking up. The price was about $14 to $16 per item and we got it to go. The food was extremely hot so be careful handling. The only thing I would look to change would ask for the teriyaki sauce be separated as the rice soaked up the sauce leaving my chicken a bit dry…. but still tasty. They even give you little candies and I also received a punch card for future orders which was fun and will be returning.“

“A legit Hawaiian food spot, I haven't had a good garlic shrimp plate in CA until now (it reminds me of Giovanni's shrimps). Also, I tried their crunchy Gojujang fried chicken and beef ribs and they were delicious. I would definitely recommend these dishes as a first timer here and wash it down with Dole pineapple slushy.“

“I come here often since it's near my work. I really wanted to post this review so I can show everyone how great my bowl looked. I got a small bowl but the worker packed it so well. Chef's kiss! The service here is fast. Even if they are working on online orders, they make sure to tend to the customers in person first. Everyone is sweet too and they give you extra sauce in the side if you ask.

“Ok, this spot definitly hits the mark for Chinese fast food. The chow mein is delicious and fried rice is fluffy. They have regular and spicy Orange Chicken options, which I really appreciate since I don't like it too spicy. The Orange Chicken was a bit chewy and I do prefer more crunch on the breading. Flavor was good though. I really enjoyed the Black Pepper Chicken here vs anywhere else I've been. That dish was seasoned perfectly and the chicken was juicy.

The only complaint I have was the staff member I interacted with was slightly rude and stingy with the teriyaki sauce til I asked again for more. I let her know it was my first time there and my bf had sent me since he liked their food. She did not automatically give chopsticks like most do, I had to ask her where they were and she acted like I should already know. Then I asked for teriyaki and she gave me one lil container, even though I'd ordered 2 meals.
I had to go back inside after I'd gone to my car. Asked her for another and she literally rolled her eyes at me, then gave me 2 more more forcefully than she needed to, like I had annoyed her.

I guess they can treat customers like they're an inconvenience because their food is so good. I was nothing but cordial with her btw. I will be back for the food regardless.“

“A different type of takeout restaurants under one roof. No frills or amenities. Reminds me of a NYC Automat only a 21st-century interpretation with self-service menu ordering terminals, no coin or currency, smartphone updates, and access to retrieving your order from numbered/lettered lockers. Very clean, fast service, and no on premises dining. Many restaurants and foods are featured. Location is in a light industrial area and well traveled. I recommend you try this place.“

Food was good. Chicken katsu was crispy. House fried rice was not like the Chinese woj style fried rice. It was newly cooked rice so the fried rice came out soft. Taste and texture is different.“

“This used to be L&L Hawaiian Food and over night was LB Hawaiian BBQ. The food got a bit better and everything stayed the same. The last two times we went in though the taste of the food has been different and my son didn't want to eat (he's 10). It's a place we really like so we'll give it another try to see.“

“Aloha Hawaiian BBQ in Santa Ana off Bristol and Memory Lane is the best Hawaiian barbecue in all of Orange County, hands down. Everytime I have been to this location the food I received was absolutely delicious and freshly made. The portions they serve are extremely generous, so much so that they have used tape to keep the lid from opening up on multiple occasions. Also, their two item combination plate can easily feed two people. Personally I have never been able to finish an entire meal by myself even when I was starving, leaving me with enough leftovers for a decent sized second meal. If you have never had Hawaiian BBQ before I strongly recommend that you try the Katsu Chicken and the beef plate. Make sure you don't forget to load up on the katsu sauce they have on their counter or you will really regret it. Since the food is freshly made to order it can take a bit for your meal to be served, so if you're short on time be sure to call it in before hand. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the macaroni salad they offer as one of their sides is a must have. Honestly, you should really consider ordering extra because the portion provided with your meal is definitely not enough to satisfy you once you get a taste of it.“

“We really enjoy the Loft Hawaiian food. They closed the really big nice one in Torrance and now there are multiple small ones with simple decor. The food is still amazing but the atmosphere is a bit less than the big restaurant was. I recommend everything but my favorite dishes are. Lomi Salmon, spam musubi, island style fried chicken, lau law and of course the kalua pork. It seems like everything comes with rice and macaroni salad. 😋 so good. I don't think you can go wrong here everything is delicious.“

“I went to get food in the afternoon after a long day at work and decided to try L&L after a friend recommended it to me. The staff was really supportive helping me choose what to get. While the food is a little pricey but it’s worth it. I got the mix plate and a half and half with the katsu and beef. The food was really good and had pretty good portion size as I was able to take some leftovers for dinner. Overall my experience here was really good and I recommend the katsu and the mix plate .“

“I am from out of town i am here visiting my sister in the hospital. I was looking for a good teryaki plate for my wife and I. I read reviews and I decided to try hi bbq. The customer service was great,the price was good and the food was excellent. The ginger dressing was tangy and really good for the salad. The chicken and steak was flavorful and the macaroni salad was really good. Until my sister comes home this will be the place we will go to. If you are looking for really good food at a good price I highly recommend hi bbq. Also the staff was really nice and the place is very comfortable.“
