(Went to Crenshaw 2 days later and clearly able to compare) As usual, ordered the biggest 20 piece dinning in and it was hot and juicy, especially the breast. Busy on the chicken left the fries cold but still nothing left to take home. The chicken was fresh from the frier as one was bubbling on the table. Teared up one of the breast and juice immediately drip onto the plate. I wore eating clothes every time I go to GUS to refrain from having ruined clothes to regret later. They gave me forks every time but I had never used them. Go wash hands and get dirty!“

“STEPH JUDGEMENT: Charming atmosphere and good food, but slightly uneven service. We were staying at the hotel and decided to try it for breakfast. It had an adorable retro 1930s vibe going on, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered a coffee and their smoked salmon and latke (same as hash browns), and was pleasantly surprised by an unexpected poached egg. The hubby ordered two scrambled eggs and "cool ranch" hash browns (basically cool ranch dust). Everything was delicious, but after the server dropped off our food she was nowhere to be seen for a while, and it took some time to settle our bill. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, and I believe they had just opened, so I'm sure the service will improve as they get their bearings. I'd definitely like to try them again when next in the area.“

“I had been hearing a lot of good things about the food here so I finally made my way into Silverlake to check it out. As you are probably already aware, this is a take out or delivery restaurant. You cannot dine in here. You actually can't even enter the building. The front door is a two piece door and when they are open for business, the top part of the door will be open. You order from there and then wait on the sidewalk for your order to be ready. You can also call in an order in advance or use various delivery services. There was not anyone waiting to order when I got there so I was able to walk directly up to the door and immediately order. I had to wait approximately 10 minutes for my order to be prepared and in those 10 minutes they got very busy. Six people came up to pickup phone or delivery orders during that time and those pickups went very quickly. A line began to form to order during that time and when I left with my order there were 5 other people who had placed others and were now waiting for their orders to be prepared and an additional 7 other people waiting in line to place orders. They prepare their food quickly but keep in mind, they need to cook the food after you place your order. If there is already a line to place your order and people waiting for their food to finish cooking, all of that will add to the amount of time it will take before your order has been prepared. If you are in a hurry and need your order quickly, perhaps you should consider another restaurant such as a fast food restaurant. They do prepare the food as quickly as they can but keep in mind, you will wait approximately 5 to 10 minutes at a minimum and the more people you see standing around out front will add to that wait time. Is it worth the wait? Oh yes, it is worth it. I had the popcorn chicken, Summer Rolls and the Caramelized Pork. The Popcorn chicken and its dipping sauce was a real treat for the taste buds. The chicken is double fried but is not dry on the inside and the dipping sauce has the perfect bite of spices to it. The summer rolls are huge. Your choice of protein or vegetables only. They really could be a meal within themselves and the vegetables were very fresh with lots of vegetable crunch in every bite. The Caramelized Pork came with sticky rice and cooked with hard boiled eggs. It was as good as it sounds (which is very good). The portion sizes were very good with my order easily being enough for two people with some leftovers. Truly, the summer rolls are so large that you cannot help but have leftovers. Parking can be very tricky here. There are yellow painted loading zones in front of the restaurant and the mom & pop grocery store next door so if you are just picking up an order that had already been placed, you shouldn't have a problem. You may find yourself desperately looking for a place to park though. Keep that in mind but don't let that scare you off. You will be thankful for the effort you put in when you are finally home and enjoying the fruits of your troubles. BTW, I hear that their Bahn Mi sandwiches are so good. I look forward to trying that next time.“

After trying many under-delivered fusion Filipino restaurants, Spoon and Pork easily takes the crowd to have the best executed fusion style dishes. We had the sinigang, grilled chicken, adobo chicken wings, pork belly, and garlic rice, and none of them disappointed.Sinigang's soup was rich and flavorful while the topping in the soup was cooked separately so they are not over cooked. The ribs came with a real nicely grilled flavored. The pork belly had crispy skin as expected and the fat to meat ratio was really good. The adobo chicken wings sauce was thick and sticky and not too salty nor sour, we kept the sauce for dipping Even after the wings were devoured.We are glad we took another chance in another fusion Filipino restaurant and we'll keep S&P on our rotation.“

It's located in the middle of a residential area, and I had heard about it from so many people so I had to finally try it. I got the beef and chicken combo plate, and the meat was very tender and full of flavor.There isn't really a place to sit down and dine unless you want to sit at the one table out front, it seems like more of a takeout spot. The staff is INCREDIBLY friendly. A true " your friendly neighborhood" type of feel. They have a few tables in the hallway. It's not the most convenient place to eat because of the limited seating and the exterior doors were open (causing a cold breeze). I was told by other guest that the doors can't be closed because it will lock. In short, it is easier to just order pick up and eat elsewhere. Anyways, let's get to the good part... the food. I've had both the 101 and 405 sandwiches. Both are so juicy and full of flavor with great combinations of cheese and sauce. The bread is perfectly is crispy on the outside so it hold its structure well for a sandwich but warm and soft on the inside. The brisket is the star of the show. I personally didn't enjoy the green onion bossam as much because it's topped with a fermented soybean sauce, and in my opinion, the meat tasted significantly more gamey.The kimchi stew was really tasty. The spice level was perfect for someone like me who often orders mild or no spice dishes. It had a kick without being painful. The only complaint I would have is that the pork was quite dry and chewy.
