“Another ktown classic which I’m so glad I finally got to try. Sul lung tang is such a comforting dish for me with the warm hearty soup. I got the mixed which came with brisket, flank, intestine, tripe, tongue etc, although you can customize it however you want. I topped mine with a generous helping of spring onion, seasoned with salt and paper, poured in my bowl of rice and proceeded to slurp the bowl till I could lick the bottom. Thinking about it makes me drool. Highly highly recommended!!

“Their spicy beef and leek soup was really not that good. That beef was super tough and the soup was incredibly spicy even after I’ve asked the man in the back for it to be little spicy as possible. Their other soup won gi tang was amazing, packed with plenty of beef and it wasn’t too salty. Their big soup plate won gi soo yook was really great too! The two servers in the front were super nice and the welcoming. Very nice atmosphere and we got seated right away and served with water.“

I've also ordered it with shrimp before and it's just as amazing. “Hands down one of my favorite Korean restaurants for years. The food just tastes amazing. Well known amongst Koreans for a reason. I always get the bulgogi and dongchimi noodles. The dongchimi noodles are a must when coming here, it’s what it’s best known for. Paired with their bulgogi, the experience just gets better. I’m not one who likes sweet, soy based marinated meats, but this place does it so well. Their marinade is not too strong or sweet, the meat is soft. Dip it into their nutty and savory sesame oil? Game over. The combination is just amazing. Please try these two together! Highly recommend. Yes, the bulgogi is a bit pricey, but it hits and the meat is so soft.“

wow, i became a loyal fan of the cheonggukjang, which i never had before. The owner is kind, and it feels like we're being taken care of like I'm at their home.

i am not korean, and especially at that early time 10 years ago I was often the only non-korean... but when they saw me eating cheonggukjang not bbq, i got some nods of approval 🤣 One korean man came up to my table after i ate once and asked me how i know this soup because it's controversial with even koreans.

But i loveeee fermented foods. and honestly, anytime i was sick this soup made me better in a day. I miss living so close to it, i have to make special trips to go now.

“We ordered both the mul naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon, and both were excellent. The portions were very generous, and the broth was especially refreshing and flavorful.

I didn’t realize it while I was eating, but I did feel a little puffy afterward, so it was probably a bit high in sodium. Still, that’s pretty common with naengmyeon, and it didn’t take away from the experience.

“It is your typical mom and pop's Korean soup joint. The atmosphere is like a cafeteria filled with photos of the past, simple and clean. It has a small menu, but the soup base is amazing. The beef broth has tremendous amount of flavor, clean, rich, the beef and tendons are succulent. The soup is not seasoned (salted) so you can taste the original beef flavor, and you can add the salt as you like it. The simple meal for two is about $50. It was a great find for us.“
