“Another ktown classic which I’m so glad I finally got to try. Sul lung tang is such a comforting dish for me with the warm hearty soup. I got the mixed which came with brisket, flank, intestine, tripe, tongue etc, although you can customize it however you want. I topped mine with a generous helping of spring onion, seasoned with salt and paper, poured in my bowl of rice and proceeded to slurp the bowl till I could lick the bottom. Thinking about it makes me drool. Highly highly recommended!!

Their other soup won gi tang was amazing, packed with plenty of beef and it wasn’t too salty. Their big soup plate won gi soo yook was really great too! The two servers in the front were super nice and the welcoming. Very nice atmosphere and we got seated right away and served with water.“

“Hands down one of my favorite Korean restaurants for years. The food just tastes amazing. Well known amongst Koreans for a reason. I always get the bulgogi and dongchimi noodles. The dongchimi noodles are a must when coming here, it’s what it’s best known for. Paired with their bulgogi, the experience just gets better. I’m not one who likes sweet, soy based marinated meats, but this place does it so well. Their marinade is not too strong or sweet, the meat is soft. Dip it into their nutty and savory sesame oil? Game over. The combination is just amazing. Please try these two together! Highly recommend. Yes, the bulgogi is a bit pricey, but it hits and the meat is so soft.“

Something about the tonkotsu in addition to the charsiu pork absolutely reigned based on my memory of LA selections. The food was flavorful. My friend ordered the namesake quesadillas, and I ordered the jackfruit tacos with mango salsa. Double the flavor - we shared our meals. Yum! The portions were large, filling, and pleased my soul. What I thought to be a side of mashed sweet potatoes was warm, smooth mashed beans. Tacos and quesadillas on point. Chichen Itza is a small, but confident showcase. There is consistent high quality to the food, which is artfully prepared and served. The dishes include delicacies such as: Cochinita Pibil, Poc Chuc, Relleno Negro, Agua de Chaya, and others. Humble, basic ingredients from the earth and sea, crafted into dishes possessing impeccable flavor and soul.

For those wary of high scoville numbers, the heat is restrained, but you can lay it on too and enjoy the wonderful flavor that can be harnessed from the Habanero.

As it is within a food court, and there is the intensely popular Holbox next door, the smell of ceviche and other uncooked seafood can be present. Finding seating can be challenging as well. Do not let this keep you from going.

Park on the street, and ignore the line out the door for Holbox. The food, and the people of Chichen Itza are worth every effort to come enjoy.“

“I love this pho spot! The ambience is great. The customer service is speedy and you are immediately given a warm welcome as you step in. The food is also really good (although I’ve only ever ordered number 4, the steak and brisket pho 👌🏽). I did try a bit of the shrimp pho when my mom ordered it, and it was good, but I’m more into beef than seafood, so that’s just personal preference. Definitely check it out. This was where I tried pho for the first time and it hits the spot every time.“

“I made a trip to this spot after seeing the great reviews, and overall was ok. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, and the service was pleasant.

We ordered the ribs combo pho and the brisket and meatball pho — both bowls had a solid, flavorful broth that hit the spot. The ribs wasnt that amazing. The egg rolls were crispy and well-seasoned. Thai tea was also great.

My main gripe is the meat portions felt a little skimpy for the price — I expected a bit more generosity in the bowl. At around $60 for two people, it’s on the pricier side for pho, which did temper the experience slightly.

That said, the quality is clearly there. If the portions were bigger or the price a touch lower, this would be an easy five stars. Worth a visit, but go in with calibrated expectations on value.“

wow, i became a loyal fan of the cheonggukjang, which i never had before. The owner is kind, and it feels like we're being taken care of like I'm at their home.

i am not korean, and especially at that early time 10 years ago I was often the only non-korean... but when they saw me eating cheonggukjang not bbq, i got some nods of approval 🤣 One korean man came up to my table after i ate once and asked me how i know this soup because it's controversial with even koreans.

But i loveeee fermented foods. and honestly, anytime i was sick this soup made me better in a day. I miss living so close to it, i have to make special trips to go now.

The curry is bold and savory. make sure to request picked vegetables for the curry. the chicken pasta is also rich and savory. both dishes complement each other without repeating the same experience. the portions are large so bring friends or bring home plenty of portions for leftovers.“
