“Sunlife’s Million Dollar Smoothie continues to be one of my favorite things ever. I think they’ve brought the price down a little since Covid?? (Or I’m delusional. It’s still pricey for a smoothie but utterly worth it.

The young woman working the counter in the Calabasas store when I went in to grab it was super friendly, authentically so, and was running things with efficiency and kindness. Really impressed.

The portions are generous, offering excellent value for the price. My two kids love the beef lule kebab plate—it’s big enough for them to share, with leftovers to spare. As someone who eats mostly vegan, I really appreciate the variety of plant-based options. I’ve tried the falafel plate, falafel wrap, veggie wrap, and several appetizers—all have been flavorful and satisfying. Highly recommend!“

“Avoid coming here on weekends (especially Saturdays and Sundays). The staff is too few, and the number of orders is overwhelming. Expect long wait times, confusion, and a bit of chaos.
The drinks are good, and the quality is consistent — but weekend service is seriously understaffed.

“I have been going to Porto's since the 1980's..the one in Glendale. How elated I was with having them being in Northridge where I live. The food is terrific and the lines go fast due to a tremendous quick system they have. The catering for parties has never let us down and people you have invited that never have experienced Portos are thrilled. The cakes are delicious. What I do miss is not having the individual cake slices for purchase so you can experience the taste. They only have the neapolitan, Parisian, and carrot for slices. I've seen the menu change over time and do miss some of the items.“

“I've been stopping here a couple times a week for breakfast or lunch. Probably ordered here about 30 or 40 times now. The sweet lady that runs the shop has always been so kind and friendly, no matter how busy she is! The food is always great, and she never forgets the napkins/utensils.

Although I haven't gotten anything here I didn't enjoy, out of everything I MUST recommend you try the yogurt parfait. I don't even like sweetened yogurt cups, but this homemade yogurt is better than anything I've ever tried. It's SO good, I start to crave some after a couple weeks without it. It's heavenly.

They have many tasty choices for breakfast and lunch. I had a small 12 oz latte w/ oat milk and a bagel with cream cheese and lox, and both were really good.The inside has enough seats for small groups of friends. There is also an excellent outdoor area for when the weather is warm. I had a great time here, and I'll definitely be a regular during working hours. We had a delicious bacon, egg, & cheese croissant made to order as well as apple fritters with the right amount of crispness and apples AND a bear claw that ended up being stuffed with cinnamon apples. Nice people. Also locals sitting & eating when I arrived. A line formed a few times while there which showed that others were just as excited about this spot, but all quickly received their food & coffee.“

Tremendous variety, whether u want from a quick snack (thin, tasty pizza ? slices) or a full meal (closed buffet style meat & veggies), the prices R reasonable and the view (overlooking the Pacific) quite grand. I had the chili, and altho it was inundated w/a few too many red & green peppers for my taste, it was thick, hearty, and meaty enuf (not overly meaty, & 4 my $$$ they could replaced a few peppers w/a little MORE ground round). “I recently visited Vanak restaurant, and it was a pleasant experience. The place is cozy, with a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a casual meal. The staff was very friendly and quick to take our orders.

My son ordered Joojeh Kabsb, which was juicy and flavorful, served with a side of rice. I ordered Abgoosht, and I loved how fresh and well-seasoned it was. It reminded me my childhood traditional abgoosht places in Tehran.

The prices were reasonable, and the portions were just right. Overall, Vanak is a great spot for a quick and tasty meal. I’ll definitely be back.“
