The food was flavorful. My friend ordered the namesake quesadillas, and I ordered the jackfruit tacos with mango salsa. Double the flavor - we shared our meals. Yum! The portions were large, filling, and pleased my soul. What I thought to be a side of mashed sweet potatoes was warm, smooth mashed beans. Tacos and quesadillas on point. “We ordered ahead when they opened for the day, and when we arrived 15 minutes later we picked up our order. We had two extra large thai curry pizza with chicken and were able to sit down for lunch. It tasted good. There were peppers, chicken, and a lot of cheese on the pizza, with curry on the side as a dip or topping. The curry is slightly spicy, but good. Highly recommend.“

“My parents and I go to this restaurant whenever I visit them in Gardena. This is one of those restaurants that the local Koreans go to for good food. You know what I mean. We had sullungtang - I chose meat while my mom chose mixed. Excellent food and good banchan. I overheard another table also commenting on their wait time for food. Other than that, the food was delicious and the service was fine. The restaurant is pretty old and dingy but I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, I was just there for some food to treat my homesickness.

The salaw machu kreung and the prahok sauce was really good. The frog was alright tbh, I guess I’m not used to it being prepared in that way. (It was deep fried and then stir fried with the kreung paste and veggies I believe.) It was still good, just different. I’m glad I gave them a try, gotta support the Khmer businesses 🫶🏼🇰🇭“

She used to come here often but it was my first time. We ordered pork kimchee soontofu and a combo soontofu with kalbi. They advertise their meat is angus. I like my kalbi more cooked but the meat was soft and good. The soontofu was excellent as well with rice cooked in rock bowl. Loved it.“

“I love how ethnic markets: Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Mexican supermarkets in So. Cal included a food court where everyone can sample ethnic dishes. At this H Mart, I ordered Hot Stone Bibimbap. It arrived with three sides, and two sauces. Yummy doesn’t even begin to describe this dish. All the raw vegetables were freshly sliced, warmed by the heat of the stone and rice. The cooked vegetables were perfectly cooked-maintaining their bright green color. I prefer low salt, so I just poured in a little bit of the sauce. While sitting down to eat my lunch, I thought about groceries to pick up from H-Mart. I’m a little surprised that this food court with 4 eateries wasn’t busier during the week. Bring your appetite.“

If you’re looking for quick fast-food service, this is probably not the place for you. I’ve been coming here for a while, and the food is always good quality, but it takes time. I usually order a drink and relax while I wait for my food. In my experience, the wait is typically at least 30 minutes and can sometimes be up to an hour.

Personally, I don’t mind because I know what to expect, and I enjoy having a drink while I wait. However, if you’re coming here just because they’re open late and the prices are cheap, be aware that your food may take a long time to come out.

The people serving customers are the same people preparing the food in the kitchen. They come out to seat guests, take orders, and then go back to cooking. There isn’t a dedicated waitstaff like at many restaurants, so service can be slower during busy times.

That said, the food quality is worth the wait for me. Just come with the expectation that this is not a fast-food , service type of experience.“
