10 Best Coffee Shops in Castro Valley

“I've been in search of a great chocolate chip cookie for some time now and I think I've finally found a winner at Bake it up with their Brown butter chocolate chip cookie! I've also tried the chocolate chip banana bread which is also 🔥 and the serving, enough for 3 people. They also have croissants, cakes and coffee. It seems every time I come to Castro Valley a new bakery has taken over the store front. I really, really hope this one makes it.“

“We visited Ones Cafe and Bakery on a Saturday around midday to try some of their popular pastries, and everything in the display looked straight out of a Paris bakery. The selection is super unique and beautifully made.

The croissants were incredibly flaky and tasted extremely fresh. My boyfriend got the fresh tart (kind of similar to an egg tart), and I got the cinnamon monkey bread. They heated everything up for us, and we shared the salted egg cream latte — absolutely phenomenal. As Asians would say: not too sweet, perfect texture, and very balanced.

We actually loved it so much that we brought a friend back the very next morning. This time we ordered more fresh tarts and tried the orange pineapple kouign-amann, which ended up being my favorite pastry overall. The tarts tasted even better earlier in the morning, probably because they were extra fresh right out of the oven.

For drinks, we got the salted cream latte again and also tried the ube latte. We added espresso to the ube drink since it normally doesn’t come with coffee. It still tasted a little mild for our preference, so next time we’d probably try a different specialty drink instead.

Overall, this place completely lived up to the hype for us. Amazing pastries, thoughtful flavors, and such a cozy weekend treat spot. We honestly can’t wait to come back again (probably every weekend at this rate).“

“It’s hard to find parking in the shopping center but it’s worth driving around to find a spot. They are friendly and make the best coffee. The ice coffees are my favorite .“

“When I got there in the morning it wasn’t much people so perfect time, the lady that help me was nice I forgot to ask her name. She was very patient and good customer service. I ordered honey haze coffee and burrito and chocolate croissant it was good I like how the people have good customer skills and the spot was nice and clean would say one of the best coffee spot“

“Owner server, must have been too early. New comer didn’t feel welcomed. Other regulars welcomed. Had bacon, eggs and waffle. It was tasty. Waffle could have used a slice of butter that was not offered. Napkin given was the type you use in a bathroom. Needs improvement“

“Love love love their bobas! They are so hot, soft, & fresh. It’s my first time here today & I love their cute shop. Very welcoming, friendly the moment you opened the door. It’s very impressive. I tried the jasmine green milk tea today. It’s a little too strong for me but their bobas won me out. I will definitely comeback!
